Lovely restaurant, not a great choice on the menu especially if your a bit fussy with food.
Found the food a bit rich in flavours
Staff lovely and friendly.
It’s a bit expensive
Great food, can definitely recommend.
Bit cold by the door when people were coming and going, so I'd ask for a seat upstairs or around the corner downstairs.
Wine was lovely, but not sure why the waitress simply poured away without a chance to taste. Luckily the wine was fine.
Overall, would recommend you tried them.
It’s such a treat to have a wonderful bistro like Pinion on our doorstep.
The wonderful food and service make it an absolute delight to visit.
Phenomenal food and service as usual. It was a lovely touch receiving fudge as a birthday acknowledgment. Thank you!
An excellent Sunday lunch served by a lovely and knowledgeable waitress. It’s a gem of a restaurant.
First time for us at Pinion we have been to wreck fish many times and pinion was just as good.
Was really looking forward to trying Pinion due to all the hype and great reviews, have to say we were all really disappointed with the food, which on the whole was well presented but bland and not very inspiring. In particular the scotch egg starter and salmon main lacked taste and we had to add seasoning ourselves. We all felt in view of this, it was significantly overpriced.
At no point were we asked if everything was ok with our food. The restaurant was busy as it was a Saturday night, but we shouldn’t have had to wait 10 minutes to order drinks when we arrived.
Sadly won’t be going back or recommending.
Had a great night at Pinion - food was amazing and the service was friendly as always-- all for a reasonable price. I would recommend a visit for a nice night out or if you are celebrating something. Thanks guys
We arrived after getting a e mail five minutes before are dining time saying are table was cancelled, but still went in , the young girl said ,we where not cancelled and I showed her my email
My son had given me a voucher for my seventh birthday , and it looks by handing this in we got the worst table in the place (between the lady's toilet and the kitchen swing door
The young girl serving us , was excellent, the starter was good , the braised beef was cooked excellent, but had a huge piece of fat down the middle and for that cut of beef for that price I excpected more
Sticky toffee pudding average
I think it the Emperor cloths syndrome
While we sat at are table and watched as bags of rubbish came out the kitchen leaking all over the floor aswell as when the bin was put back the one time the door was left open, the new bin bag was put in and no washing of hands went on
I think that's all
Will not go again
We’ve eaten at Pinion several times and have never been disappointed. Our hobby is eating at Michelin restaurants around the north west and we think that the food at Pinion is as good as some of the ones we’ve eaten in. Congratulations to all the staff on your Rosette !!!!! We’re so lucky to have such a good restaurant nearby.
Everything was first class from arrival through to leaving. I know it's not the restaurants fault but the evening was slightly marred by a drunken diner who continuously made a bit of a nuisance of herself. However, the service was first class, the food was even better and the portions were generous and, overall, value for money was excellent.
My only complaint was that I tried to book for 7:30 pm 6 weeks ago and could only get a table for 7 people at 6:30 pm yet the restaurant was only 2/3 full
My husband and I were so pleased to have the opportunity to dine at Pinion for lunch to celebrate his birthday last Friday.
We are both vegetarian and love the variety of menu choices on offer...and I was even happier that the creme brûlée is still on the menu!
Veggie starter was very good and the dark chocolates for dessert were exceptional, but the main event - the veggie main course - sadly lacked taste and imagination.
The experience was not helped by the presence of a big party on an adjacent table who clearly had no idea how to behave in a restaurant - and were not given a steer in the right direction by staff.
Overall, a disappointing experience that won't be repeated.
We booked for an small family celebration, 80th birthday and it proved a fantastic choice. Food was sensational, service discrete but attentive. Relaxed but classy. Would definitely recommend
Lovely food and well presented. Waitress was very polite and helpful. food came quickly so no long wait. I
Would definitely recommend and visit again
Wonderful Sunday lunch and the service was excellent. They adapted the menu (with 48 hours notice) to accommodate my lactose and gluten intolerant guest and even provided a separate menu for him to choose from. Every course was perfect and the only complaint was from the person who couldn’t finish her dessert as she’d eaten too much already. Our perpetually hungry teenager was finally full as well.
Excellent quality food . Non set menu at Weekends is expensive. Nice ambience and good service. Will come again.
Great food and a great welcome too. This was our second visit and we’re looking forward to our next.
Lovely restaurant. Our new favourite.
Food fantastic. Service great. Just a lovely evening out.
Joe looked after us and was spot on. We ordered a bottle of wine and there was only one other left of the same wine, so he checked whether we wanted it before someone else bought it. It’s the little things like that that make the difference.
Staff could be more attentive to customers, we asked could we move to table that was spare to a more comfortable option for my mother who is 78. Told no as booked for another party however they failed to show up. Food was ok however the chips are far too greasy also wine list was pretty poor
Was lovely but costly. Staff were brilliant abd very attentive. Sadly my friend only eats chicken and there was no chicken option and not much choice for vegatarian options. She paid for the duck but only ate the onion rings as it was too pink for her. A lot to pay £25 for 3 onion rings.
The atmosphere and staff were great overall and we did have a good night xx
Service was great. Our server's knowledge of thw beers and wine was helpful and interesting. We were upstairs and had the place to ourselves for a while. Being able to see the food being prepped was cool - I dont know how they work ao quietly!
The food was amazing and Im already looking forward to our next visit.
Highly recommend the bacon dish - YUM!!
Thank you for a great evening.
All good as always. Took friends from London who were v impressed. Great to meet Tracey!
We went for the set menu, great value and a warm welcoming early dinner. I had the Celeriac to start, could have been a little warmer, the mushroom soup was lovely. I went for the pumpkin risotto, it was fine but again I would have liked it a little warmer, Maybe that's just me. My wife has the fish and she thought it was delish. This is a great little Bistro, would recommend to anyone, actually I do.
Fabulous food and service, never disappointed with anything here
Thoroughly enjoyed our meal in fact we made another reservation while we were there!! Great food and lovely staff will look forward to our next visit
Been a few times now. Service always great & the food fab .. lovely gem on our doorstep

Beautifully freshly cooked food in a lovely relaxed environment
We have been to Pinion several times and will continue to go back , delicious food, great ambience and lovely staff ... what’s not to like??
Great quality food. Service excellent really enjoyed our lunch.
Really enjoyed our first visit here, particularly enjoyed my two starters as I was torn to decide what to have! The meal was really good, service great and my wife and I had a great evening. Looking forward to going back again in the not to distant future.
As always, good food, service and atmosphere.
Great new eating experience. We tried the pigs head croquette and it was delicious :) Nice environment but was a little chilly where we were sitting. We would return for another nice evening, I'd like to try the honeycomb ice-cream, even though the sticky toffee pudding was amazing. Thanks.
Great place and great food would go again it was full when we left testament to good food and service
Food was excellent: incredibly tasty, beautifully laid out, menu enticing. The staff were consistently friendly, helpful and chilled. Lovely to sit in a restaurant with what seems to be different types of groups of people, young parties, families, couples.
We were seated upstairs next to the kitchen & noise was so bad my friend opposite could not hear us. Downstairs seemed much calmer. Food was luke warm . The fishcakes were extremely salty. My friend left half & told the waitress why but she just said sorry about that. We felt rushed. Not relaxing at all.
