About

It is with the best intentions that we look to run Pipal Tree. It is said that Buddha finally found enlightenment during his contemplation under such a tree in Northern India. It is with this spirit we wish to enrich the surrounding community with home cooked Punjabi British fusion cuisine prepared from recipes which have been handed down the generation from the Punjab region of India. The Punjab is known colloquially as India's breadbasket and the cuisine from this region tends to be seared and roasted, when compared to cuisine from the South which people may be more familiar with. This leads to a pungent and aromatic plate of food. The unique aspect of this venture is that it will stick to authentic home cooked recipes; which will use ethically sourced, organic and free range ingredients producing amazing meals.

Wonderful food made with love and a conscience. Great owner and staff ... very friendly and attentive. The food tasted very fresh and made to order. Creative ingredients. It's not 'fancy' but if you want wonderful food, and a good local atmosphere we highly recommend The Pipal Tree.
Parking can be a challenge but worth the effort.

Overpriced food, very small portions (I ordered chicken breast at £15.95 and was served half a small breast) and an aggressive waiter all added up to a very disappointing experience. Service charge was automatically added to bill despite poor service. It's a shame, because some of the food was delicious, but we left feeling like we'd been ripped off and unable to give any feedback because the waiter was intimidating.

I came by this restaurant online looking for somewhere for brunch.
What a find, an establishment run by the owner and his very attentive and enthusiastic family.

Lovely honest and kind people, fabulous and innovative fresh home made food!

Highly recommended !
Evening menu looks awesome, back very soon.

We tried this place after a friend recommended it, went on a Saturday night, we had a lovely welcome from the in house family members, this is not a traditional curry house, this is a Punjabi family cooking at it's best, first time we have tried this cuisine, which by the way was fantastic.

Very friendly service. If you are fond of Indian food this is not for you. Very limited and expensive menu.

Another lovely meal at this local gem. The food is always beautifully cooked and tasty. Service is exemplary, even on the night we visited when they were short-staffed due to being let down. Highly recommended

Expecting the full menu at mid day (our mistake) every effort was made by the very friendly staff to get us the best of the really tasty brunch options. Very good coffee too! we'll be back for the evening options!

Visited whilst on a weekend in Bristol. Friendly, family run restaurant who were eager to please. Small menu but excellent quality. Well worth a visit.

Just googling a nice place to eat in bristol brought this little jem to my attention. And I have to say it did not disappoint. All the food is home cooked, and organic where they can get it. The restaurant has such a lovely home ambience to it, and it is the first time in a long time where I can truely say that the service matched the quality of the food, in a good way. The owner, and his family are so friendly, and the food is probably the best Indian I have had this year in bristol. I am a foodie and have been in customer service for half my life, and can honestly say this restaurant will be my happy stomach goto place. Don’t take my word for it..
