Pizzeria Mozza - Newport Beach
The pizza was beyond belief ... as always! Bufala mozzarella, Fresno chili, sausage, basil and San Mariano tomato ... not a better pizza anywhere.
Meatball app was amazing and the pineapple sorbet sublime!
Paired with a perfect Nebbiolo this was a meal for the ages.
Overall experience was fine. Salad was good, but overdressed. Ordered two pasta dishes. A mushroom pasta dish, which was lacking a bit of flavor. Fairly bland. And the garganelli, which was tasty, but nothing unique about the dish. Seemed like something I could easily whip up at home. Ambience was lively and enjoyable. We were sat per our reservation with no wait. Our server was friendly, but not super attentive. I keep wanting to like this place more, but never come away longing to return soon!
First time at this location. Very busy and loud with cozy seating. Next time in town we will be back.
We always love Mozza. The squash blossoms and bone marrow are off the charts good!

Having to pay for valet and no self park option. overpriced.
We had an open table reservation at 8:30 pm. When we got there restaurant was full. We were given a choice of sitting at the bar as an alternative as it would have been another 15 minutes. There was another open table for 4 but we were told we couldn’t have that table as there were only 2 of us.
When it was time to order the food there was a delay in arrival of the burrata which I could see was sitting under the warmer. After 10 minutes I finally caught the eye of the server reminded her about the burrata which I pointed out under the warmer (I had a good view because we were sitting at the bar). She said that wasn’t ours. After a few minutes the burrata under the warmer was brought back to the kitchen (looks like they were going to dispose of it) and the chefs were preparing a new order that was promptly sent over to us.
Food was good a bit salty (probably secondary to the fact that everything we ordered had prosciutto).
Overall experience was not the best. Have had several meals in the LA restaurants (osteria and pizzeria) that were very good which is why we wanted to try the one in Newport Beach. Will hopefully have a better experience next time.
Hit or miss. Out of the 3 times we have been, 2 were spectacular. This most recent time was meh, which makes it feel VERY overpriced. Our service was slow; we had 2 orders of the bread (it’s what keeps us coming back) - one way incredible as usual and one was bland; the pizza was slightly undercooked and seemed to lack flavor-which we hadn’t experienced whatsoever the last 2 visits. The burrata and prosciutto was 10/10 and is such a great value. I tried the Mule and it did not disappoint. We’ll probably visit again but we didn’t leave dying to come back the way we did the last times.
Have eaten here a few times and have had pleasant experiences. This last time I was disappointed that the service was slow and inattentive, the restaurant was not busy. Also the IPA I wished to order was not able to be served until another beer on tap ran out so the IPA could be tapped. It seems that there should be a designated tap for every drought beer offered on the menu.
We have been there several times. The food and service are consistently good. We had an appetizer and a pasta dish for main course. Unfortunately the pasta dishes are quite small so we were hungry again soon!
No cranberry for mixed drinks...? The fennel pizza was okay - the fennel place looked like broken baseball sized chuck of sausage - we ordered in the place the this was not edible unless we smashed the sausage which would smash the dough. The meatballs are great and so is the bread.
BEAUTIFUL PLACE WITH A NYC FEEL, BEING FROM THE EAST COAST, WE HAVE BEEN ON THE HUNT FOR NYC/NJ PIZZA AND THIS ALMOSTS EXCEEDS OUR EXPECTATIONS. THE DOUGH WAS PERFECT AND THE INGREDIENTS WERE SUPER FRESH! LOOKING FORWARD TO TRYING MORE FOOD ON THEIR MENU.
Outside dining is much quieter than inside. The ‘inside’ tables are right up against the bar. So the bar noise is prevalent. Outside seating is actually slightly enclosed, and separate from the indoor dining area. - much quieter. The pizza list is quite extensive, and there are pasta items (along with appetizers) on the menu. On a Saturday night, I think the wait staff was overwhelmed - too many tables for the staff to cover. The food is excellent. The portions are generous. We were able to split an appetizer and pizza between the 2 of us. As for ‘quality of Neapolitan Pizza’, it’s right up there with Ortica and Angelnia’s.

We were introducing another pair of friends to Pizzeria Mozza - a favorite of ours. The restaurant has a new pair in it’s circle of fans. We ALL thoroughly enjoyed our evening. The food and wine were EXCELLENT and the service, spot-on. We’ll ALL be back!
The meat pizza was greasy and had water on the plate. The crust was soggy and tasted like the meat was frozen when cooked.
The goat cheese, leek pizza was average.
Tables were scratched and didn’t match the decor.
Wine selection was excellent.
Menu was in Italian. Vague descriptions were provided.
We expected much better quality.
We restaurant is directly beside a Ferrari dealership, we didn’t expect Pizza Hut.
We’re disappointed Joe Bastianich would put his name on a substandard establishment.

As always the meal and service is great. Julia is a wonderful server and made our dining experience wonderful.
You can’t go wrong with the fungi pizza. I added burrata which is a must try. I love the meatball appetizer and the tricolore salad is fantastic treat.

Consistently delicious. Server and I accidentally ordered a non-veg pizza but they remade it very quickly. Also makes great leftovers.
The food is excellent, their caprese Mozza is unreal good. I highly recommend that as it was by far my favorite dish of the night, simple yet elegant. The meatballs were good and so were the pizzas. Overall a great experience. I was also very impressed by their whiskey selection for an Italian restaurant.

My family and my father enjoyed the best crust (which means a lot to me) and fantastic flavors of cheese and excellent companions in the form of meats, herbs, and excellent wine. We had heard of this restaurant in a review and it lived up to the hype. Our waiter, Aldo, was fantastic; knowledgeable, friendly, and very attentive. Thank you to the Mozza family. We so enjoyed our visit.
Loved the fact that every service person reached out to our table, excellent service; food was great; and the portions are perfect, not overwhelming.
Limited parking and no valet on duty.
Kitchen closed at 2pm for lunch. We felt rushed to order our food, as our reservation was at 1:30pm.
Staff was very pleasant and did a good job.
Fun restaurant and always busy! They have great pizzas and salads. Everything is good here. We like to sit at the bar because it is noisy! This visit we had the tri colore salad and the goat cheese with bacon and leeks pizza.
A wonderfully active spot to enjoy terrific Italian fare with friends.

Loved the pizza and I’m not a pizza lover. One of the best ever outside of Italy. The pasta portion seemed small. The desserts were good as was the fried cauliflower. Great meal.
