PJ Clarke's @ Tioga Downs
Part of the food was very good and part was not so good for the price. For example the french fries were served cold and soggy (I would recommend plating them just before serving). The prime rib was very good along with a hamburger. The lettuce wedge was very good. The chicken sandwich left something to be desired, but the crab cake was very good.
Final evaluation-- over priced for the quality.
Service was great! My husband really enjoyed the raw clam bar. Both of our dishes tasted wonderful, but they came out a little on the cool side. My husband didn’t say anything, but I asked for mine to be heated and they were kind enough to send out a fresh plate with hot hot food, which was perfect! Drinks were good also. Prices seemed a little higher, yet I would still recommend going!
Great place for dinner. Take a drive to Tioga Downs and just have dinner. Food is wonderful!
Food was really excellent, service great and dessert delicious
we went to see a family friend entertain. We were outside, service was sporadic at best. Servers were spread very thin over many outside tables. No discernable section for wait staff to work. Food took well over 45 min. to come out. I had fish and chips. Fish was good, hot, fries, cold.
If the plan is to utilize the outside area as well as inside, better planning for working areas and food delivery needs to happen.
Our server, Jay, was not attentive. She doted on her large table of 8 but barely served us. When we told her we were ready to check out, we also gave her our cards to check for points. She did not return for 25 minutes!
The service was atrocious and just down right rude and mean. We had a big party so she got 20% of the bill automatically and that made me so mad I wanted to give her nothing that’s how rude and disgusting she was to us. We spent a lot of money there so it was a good tip that she did NOTTTT deserve. The food was mediocre to disgusting. Some didn’t mind it and some said it was soggy and cold. The salmon tasted like butter water no season at all. We weren’t even done with our meal before the rude server was asking us about dessert and shoving it down our throats that we need to order it. I had to tell her hold on we were eating!! This place is not where you want to go when you stay there! I much rather eat at a bar than there! The place was empty on a Friday night... should have been an indicator not to go there!! If you want cold soggy over priced food with service that’s non existent and you have to beg for anything and want to be treated like garbage go here! If you want to have a nice dining experience go elsewhere!!
The food was bland and over priced. Not at all worth the money.
Service was only 3 because they were short staffed. Our server was excellent and busted her tail.
Baked potato was cool, butter did not even melt and also cream spinach was also cool.
Very disappointing. Both ordered the prime rib ( rare and medium rare) which was recommended by the waitress. Huge generous cut. Unfortunately, it was so tough it was almost impossible to cut. Variety of sides were not good as well, except for the fried onion strings. Brownie sundae was good not great. Not worth the money and it was a casino comped meal. Understand that occasionally with beef you get a cut that’s tough but whoever was slicing in the kitchen should not have served that.
The restaurant was very accommodating. We were able to choose where we wanted to sit. The food was delicious, the service, by Sarah, was wonderful, and we had a great dining experience. One recommendation would be to offer some options for some smaller portions for dinner. We had my mom with us, and although she enjoyed her rib eye steak, we couldn't take it home with us as we were staying at the hotel. Our room did not have a microwave to reheat it later in the evening. However, we will definitely be back as we thoroughly enjoyed our time at PJ Clarke's!
Menu has changed since the last few times we were here. Not many dinner selections. A lot of burgers & sandwiches.
Best part of our dinners was the arugula salad.
I had the Crispy shrimp, my wife the Cauliflower steak. Neither of our dinners had any flavor to them at all.
The seafood pasta dish I ordered was tasteless and seafood overcooked. My husbands chicken sandwich was overdone and tiny
Fresh seafood and very nice waitress( Sarah) and overall a great anniversary experience. We definitely would return and have already told several people how wonderful it was. Sarah was able to give us a complimentary dessert to celebrate.
Overall experience was great. Food was timely and prepared very well. The last time i ate there my steak was so well done it was like leather. i ordered it med well and a friend ordered rare and they were both well done. This time you hit the nail on the head they were perfect. Wasn't impressed with my gratuity of 20% already added on a party of 6. it usually party of 8. I would of paid it and probably more cause things were great.
My husband and I have wanted to try this restaurant for several weeks and finally made it. I had the fillet mignon and my husband had the prime rib. Both were perfectly cooked and delicious. The prime rib was so large we took most of it home. The garlic fries were very tasty but a tad greasy. The creamed spinach was awesome (yes awesome!). We had no room for dessert. I would come back again!
Great food and drinks
Fun dinner with friends and nice atmosphere
Our appetizer and meals were very good, exceeded expectations. Staff was very friendly.
Maybe they were having an off day.
1st time there was great.
Had a wonderful experience. The food was outstanding, the service was superior, and very lovely clean restaurant. Could not be any better. Would definitely recommend. Can't wait to return.
Good food and good service. I found the prices to be a bit much for what we ate.
Tonight was our first visit, we were celebrating Mothers Day. Our waiter was Cameron and he was great. He knew the menu, was able to make suggestions and reccomendations that helped us decide. Our table of 6 had 3 Sunday Seafood platters, 1 grilled Salmon, 1 Steak and 1 Shepard Pie. Our food was prepared exactly as we ordered it, it arrived at our table in a timely manner and tasted amazing. Dinner was wrapped up by some with a apple cobbler and coffee. This was a great visit and we felt the menu pricing was in line with the quality of the food, the environment and the level of service. We are looking forward to our next visit.
Had a horrible experience on Motherś Day! Waitress took our order, and then never returned to the table! We ordered a shrimp cocktail, which never arrived, when we finally did flag down our waitress, she came over and rolled her eyes at the fact that the appetizer wasnt brought to our table. I then ordered a steak, medium, and when it arrived, it was smoking and gray! Well done! I immediately sent it back, and then waited, and waited and waited. We could not find our waitress and when we did, could not make eye contact with her to call her over to check on the steak I sent back. I finally had to ask another worker who was changing table cloths to walk over and get our waitress. This other person returned and said ¨Your waitress is busy right now and cant come over¨......WRONG ANSWER!!! I then asked for a manager, and no one ever came to the table! Finally, the second steak came out, meanwhile, my husbands dinner was already eaten by him as it took so long for the second steak to come out, and the second steak was just as well done!!!! The waitress NEVER came back to our table once to check on us, or to remove ANY dirty dishes. We ate with piled up dirty dishes around us. Then had to track her down when we were done to get our bill, and then again to pay our bill. She would just disappear! And the topper was that the two tables on either side of us had issues as well. The table next to us ordered the special, which came with soup and salad, and they were brought the entree, and never got their soup or salad! The other table on the other side of us was already seated before we arrived, and we got our food and they never got any of their ordered food! They were livid. The management is poor there. How hard is it to make a steak medium? A thermometer is all you need. And why on earth did our waitress only take our order and then never return to the table to check on us, to remove dirty dishes, to make sure my steak was being remade? Happy Mothers Day, NOT!
When we arrived it took a few minutes to be waited on. My husband & friend ordered the burger with fries & asked for a side salad in addition. When their meals came there were no fries just the burger so they paid $14.00 + $3.00 (for the salad) but received no fries. A glass of wine (Crosby Cellars Rose) was ordered, actually 2 glasses. Later finding out later at the actual bar that they had been out of that & in fact the wine that was served was Hazlitt Red Cabin, which is actually $1.00 cheaper than Crosby. We don't like to complain but if I was served a different kind of wine that I ordered there is a chance I would become ill. I know what wine I can drink having an allergy & if I was served something that made me ill I would not be happy. I hope you will make sure that waitresses know they need to let customers know if they are out of something. I am sure they would do so food wise. We also felt rushed out after we had finished eating.
Food was so-so....we ordered basic burgers. The onion for the burger was extremely thick and cold and was served under the bottom bun which made the bun soggy and cold. Definitely not as good as what we’ve had at the NYC location which we have visited a few times. Restaurant atmosphere was nice, and waitress was very attentive and polite. The good news is, with a few tweaks to the food prep, this could be a very nice place to dine.
I was very pleased with the waitress. she did a great job. The food was ok. but was very expensive. because of the cost I don't think we will go there again.
For appetizers we had a split variation of 1/2 dozen oysters and calamari. This was a good start.
For dinner we had salmon, tacos, burgers.
The french fried potato and sweet potato fries were awesome.
The only disappointing part of the meal
were the lack of beer selections.
The restaurant was also very quiet for a Saturday night.
Perhaps some lively music during dinner would have been fun.
We had a great experience dinning at PJ Clarke's however I did feel the prices where a bit high other than that every thing was great!
We feel the server could have been more attentive. We sat near the bar and could see our drinks sitting on the bar. After about 5 minutes I got up and asked the bartender if someone could deliver our drinks. He did.
our family's second time we ate at PJ Clark's, and the experience was as great as the first time (within the last 10 days)… food was very good...
the waitress was super, I believe her name was Emily, who could not be more pleasant, I would say that she was a pleasure to be around, great positive attitude, and she was constantly checking back with us on our food, etc….excellent job as the waitress...
We ordered steamed clams, soup, and I ordered lobster mac&cheese, my wife had a burger. The soup came and it was hot and delicious, before we could eat half our soup our entres' came, then came our appatizer! At least they were good enough not to charge us for the clams. Very bad communication between the kitchen staff and server for an $80 meal.
Everything was great, The food was unbelieveable, Would and service was was outstanding . would send all my friends there..
I ordered the Surf &Turf for $58.00 . What the meat was I have no idea? It looked and tasted like processed meat that had been made to look like a poor resemblance of a filet. It was about 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch thick. Lobster tail was good, but far from $58 meal. My wife ordered the Shepard's pie and that was ok, but not up to par as in the past.
We are at Tioga several times a month, and always eat dinner when we come. But the meal I had Saturday was very poor quality! I have had the same in the past and the quality in the past was good.
If you really want to build the food business change your menu periodically. At least the specials on the weekends? And serve quality meat! What I ate was not
Your service people are very good. Friendly and efficient. We have had several servers and enjoyed them. They make your business good or bad. These girls were Great.
Charles & Susan P
Service and food was very good however it took a long time to get our dessert order - we ordered one dessert - it took too long!
Very good meal. Two of the people in our party had the surf and turf and related that it was excellent! Service was very good and fast. Would definitely eat here again when at the casino.
Our food was really delicious and very hot when served. We loved our server. She was helpful in making food suggestions and very personable.
My dinner was cold. I had Shepard’s Pie, half of the Shepard pie was cold. My husband had scallops which were not cooked all the way, raw. It was not crowded, only 3 tables had customers. Not sure why food wasn’t cooked properly as it was not busy. More expensive than other restaurants were food is cooked properly.
My wife and I went there to have dinner for our anniversary. We had never been there before, so we decided to give it a try. We made an online reservation, which was quick and easy. They seated us right away and both the hostess and our waitress were very pleasant, and polite. The ambiance was quite enjoyable. Being the St. Patrick’s Day weekend, we especially enjoyed the traditional Irish music that was playing while we dined. We were very satisfied with our entre’es. Delicious, competitively priced, served quickly, and cooked well. Our waitress was a delight. We didn’t feel rushed or forgotten. We would strongly recommend P.J. Clarke’s @ Tioga Downs Casino. Thank you and keep up the good work.
My wife and I have eaten there several times in the past and really enjoyed our experience there. On this last trip we took a friend. Both of their burgers were not cooked correctly. My fish tacos were disappointing at best and all of our french fries were sub-par. Since this is not the norm we would definitely return and give it another try.
Great lobster Mac n Cheese! They like to rush you along so you can get back to gambling.
