Great place amazing food
This place is the best price quality ratio restaurant I’ve tried in Manchester. Good service, nice atmosphere and amazing food. Tasty autentic dishes and incredible desserts, especially the cheesecake. Very recomendable place for a quite dinner for two or to go with friends.
Delicious and beautifully presented food. It is indeed 21st century Polish cuisine. Remarkable selection of the most delicious vodkas. I can’t wait to go back. Ever so friendly and helpful staff too
Always perfect, always wonderful, always want to return.
Thoroughly enjoyable evening.
A small but interesting menu, which is refreshing to see.
Very nice atmosphere and friendly service.
Food great - but I now know that I'm not a huge fan of Polish cheese.
Would not hesitate to recommend Platzki, beautiful home made food, great ambiance and very friendly and efficient staff
Small restaurant serving the best Polish food. Lovely cosy atmosphere. Friendly and helpful service. Beautifully presented high quality food. Perfect.
Lovely food and great service, would definitely go again with more people.
There was a table of 6 of us. Our first time there. The staff where very friendly and helped create a great atmosphere for the evening. The food was delicious, particularly the sorrel soup with pork. The restaurant was busy and lively. Despite being just off Deansgate it was a little difficult to find, but it was worth the effort. We will definitely go again!
The food, service and ambience was amazing.
Lovely evening, highly recommend!
We ate at Platzki for our 3 year anniversary, and we were not disappointed! It was so lovely, we loved the food, the atmosphere and setting😊it was perfect! Our server Anna was so lovely and chatty and made us feel comfortable. Thank you for such a nice evening, we will definitely be back again.
Such good, comforting food. It was hard to leave and I definitely want to go back!
Excellent Polish cuisine with a twist. Top quality food prepared and served by skilled, friendly and welcoming staff. A place the Polish diaspora in Manchester can be truly proud of!
Food, service and vibe on point as always. I love how Platzki manages to elevate the polish cuisine without losing its souls
Very pleased to try this new Polish restaurant in the centre of Manchester. Not a very wide choice on the menu but my colleague and I enjoyed a well cooked, tasty meal served by friendly, professional staff. Good value for what you get!
Would certainly recommend it to friends looking foe somewhere different.
The only negatives are that it is quite difficult to find and toilet facilities are outside
An excellent meal in a warm and homely restaurant. The service was lovely and personal, and the food just delicious! Would definitely recommend this hidden gem
Got there late on a Thursday night. The restaurant is an oasis above busy Deansgate in a row of sadly vacant stores. Dinner service was winding down but we were treated extremely well. Food was excellent and a very good value. Everything we had was worthwhile.
I have been twice now and love this place - they really went out of their way when I went with my sister in law and baby Neice - very welcoming. Lovely food, great value- a real gem
Highly recommend Platzki. Innovative Polish food and excellent service. We sat outside as it was a lovely sunny evening. If you're in Manchester seek out this fabulous restaurant.
Delicious food, great service, will definitely be going back.
My boyfriend and I went here for a meal on Sunday, not realising that we would be limited to a set menu. Little did we know that we were in for a treat!
The set menu consists of 7-courses, all small plates. I opted for the vegetarian menu which was fantastic - the food was fresh, beautifully presented, and authentic.
The service was a bit slow as there was only one waiter, and there were a few families there with young children who were noisy, but that can’t be helped by the restaurant.
Other than that, it was a fantastic dining experience and we will certainly be returning.
Delicious varieties of dumpling, all unfamiliar to us. Lovely wine too. Service good. Unfortunately we went on the Friday of constant torrential rain so it was very quiet! Going outside to toilet not good on that day. Will go again to sample more dishes
Everything about this place was spot on. Excellent and attentive service, wonderful, tasty food and free cherry vodka to finish - a lovely touch. We liked the unusual wines and chose one from Moldova. All 4 of us agreed we will definitely return - hopefully on a weekend evening to try some more adventurous Polish cuisine.
Small and intimate in a very good way! Limited menu but everything we had was delicious and portions were just right. Unique, good value and recommended.
Delightful little place with amazing food. Restricted menu so you know everything is fresh and tastes great no matter what you order. Plus it's nice to have a different cuisine from the usual choices in Manchester.
We booked a table for 5.15pm on Wednesday afternoon. It wasn’t busy when we arrived with one or rwo other tables occupied. The service was prompt and very friendly.
The choice of main courses was good. Again the order arrived quickly and the food was good and tasty.
By the time we left we were the only customers and but the staff took the time to chat with us and recommended up coming events and offers both in the restaurant and surrounding areas.
Overall a pleasant meal with friendly and efficient customer service.
Its a lovely restaurant with a good amount of authentic menu choices, tasty food, nice ambience and the price was fair.
Fantastic restaurant! The service was excellent, the interior is lovely, the food was delicious and also decorated and presented wonderfully! We would go back any time!!!
Food was tasty but plain. Cheese cake generous and scrumptious. On the expensive side for very limited choice. Great service and yes we will go back
My daughter was grumpy with everything and everyone, the staff were brilliant with her. She eventually managed to eat something and said that the beef cheeks were like butter. Beautiful.
Thank you for such a nice review. We are delighted your daughter liked the food. We are trying to satisfy every one of each even the youngest ones at our restaurant. This is our aim to leave a smile on your face and full tummy as well.
My wife and I were looking for a restaurant which served quality 'home-cooked' food and Platzki turned out to be a great find. The only reason I haven't given five stars across the board was because one of the starters and one of the main courses was definitely better than the other, but, given how good the other starter and main course were and how awesome the cheesecake was, I'm probably being a bit tough. We will definitely return the next time we're in Manchester!
Very nice and delicious home made meals, but a bit expensive in my opinion.
Expensive and small main course portions. Very few options. Staff and decoration nice.
Thank you very much for the review. We are so sorry that we didn't manage your expectations but we hope you liked the food. Please visit our Facebook page to see our new menu (which is changing twice a week). If there will be anything you like, please contact us for booking and we will make our best to satisfy your taste.
Great food and a delay in traffic meant we were late. When I telephoned they were able to hold my reservation so that we could enjoy their delicious food.
Thank you very much for such a great review. We are always trying best to satisfy our customers. Thank you for the 5 stars review and hope to see you soon!
Very welcoming and friendly staff the service was excellent as was the food.
We love the place
I was very happy to be able to book through Open Table to secure a table for a Saturday evening. The restaurant is a little tricky to find, up some stairs off Deansgate, turn right at the top. But it's lovely when you get there, with a homely, welcoming feel. The waiting staff were both excellent - friendly, helpful and efficient. The menu was limited but changes regularly, and there was certainly an option for everyone with about 6 starters and 6 mains. We tried the polish sausage, and the Baltic marinated herring to start - both were excellent. Our mains were duck with dumplings and ox cheeks with a plum sauce on mash ( fennel I think). Both were beautifully cooked and presented but the ox cheeks were tastier. The desserts all look amazing and we shared a cheesecake with fudge topping which was actually the highlight of the meal. 2 starters, 2 mains, shared dessert, bottle of wine (£19) and a beer and a coffee came to just over £80.00. Very fair value for an excellent evening.
We absolutely loved it! Great food, drinks, atmosphere, staff. Can't wait to go back!
What a great experience, lovely food with wonderful service
Today I happened upon a Polish restaurant called Platzki in Manchester’s Great Northern building on the second floor.
There was no signage on the front of the building, but I arrived after booking my reservation online, just as they were opening at Noon.
I was greeted immediately and seated by the front window, looking out at passersby. The ambience was very traditional and felt comfortable like a kitchen in a home. There were cabinets full of Eastern European dishes, teapots and small plates, with cooking pans hanging behind the countertop. There were books to read while eating atop the shelf in both English and Polish, modern Polish music playing, the chef hand-making both meat and vegetarian pierogis by the dozens. Behind my table was a buffet topped with a beautiful assortment of apple crumb cake, chocolate and vanilla cheesecakes with several fresh fruits, including strawberries, raspberries and diced apples for the side.
I have been in Manchester twice before and am a true foodie. I travel the world for work and eat in high-end restaurants, some Michelin Star, as well as everyday spots, including local cuisine everywhere I go; street food, too.
Upon sitting down, the server told me about today’s special soup being split pea. I ordered and I’m so glad I did! Every single flavor today was better than the one before. From the two pots of hot cranberry tea, to the split-pea soup of the day, the meat, tomato and onion pierogi dish with sauerkraut salad on the side...I could not have had better. The beautiful soup and pierogi presentations were in line with the top-tier spots I eat at in Shanghai, Tokyo, Colorado or Dresden. I’m stunned to be honest; that this place I just happened upon and without signage above the door, could be so delicious and an absolutely amazing experience.
I will fly back to eat here again. You should as well, as the service and food are perfect. Thanks to Platzki for one of the best lunches I’ve come across in all these years.
Loved the entire experience. Although I enjoyed the food and drinks I felt it was slightly overpriced. £60 for two people had me slightly surprised but that does not mean I wouldn't go again, just infrequently
