Plough Way Cafe
Plough Way Cafe is located on the SE8 SE16 border between Deptford and Surrey Quays.
My friends and I tend to socialise every weekend and was looking for a good brunch/dinner spot in the neighbourhood.
Overall the food was good and most staff seemed professional and helpful.
They have a tendency of taking chairs, plates and glasses before asking if you still need them.
One waitress annoyed my friend quite severely by being unprofessional and confrontational when said friend tried to correct her.
We left feeling offended and arguing.
I don't believe the experience was worth the money and won't be going there again.
Great place that always gets good reviews from everyone who goes there. Keep up the good work.
Best restaurant in that part of London! Thank you!
I'm lucky it's so local to me! Great service, delicious food and a great drinks menu
Plough Way Cafe has very inviting decor and a pleasant staff. The food is very good and well prepared. The portions could be more generous in relation to the price but I generally leave satisfied overall. In good weather, the terrace is a wonderful place to have a meal. With respect to the beverages, like so many restaurants, the red wine is served at a temperature that is too warm. Storage of bottles may be near the kitchen and this is one of my few points of criticism. Red wine should be served at about 18-20 degrees Celcius rather than near 28 degrees. The restaurant should consider a different wine storage area to get that right.
This is my local restaurant and I always enjoy eating here. The staff are wonderful and the food is good but it is a little pricey
One of my favourite places in the area with authentic Italian food made from fresh ingredients by their lovely staff that is very positive and kind.
Outstanding service, quality food and well it’s London it’s pricey but worth it. Will recommend and will be visiting again. Thankyou
Excellent food and service
Good food, good wine, and great that our dog was welcome too.
Very pleasant evening was had by all. The atmosphere is relaxed and informal but the service very attentive. Great pizzas and very good value.
Would definitely revisit.
I'm lucky enough to live so close to this restaurant. Great food, fantastic service, relaxing atmosphere that you wouldn't feel uncomfortable with your family, partner or children.
Always a pleasure dining at Plough Way Cafe. The best restaurant in the area
Lovely place. Impeccable service and food. Thanks!
Plough Way Café is consistently great. Lovely food, excellent service, great value and a fantastic place to eat and hang out. Whether a party of adults only or with friends with very small kids, they are equally welcoming and accommodating, and we are always pleased we chose it. This is our umpteenth visit and we will definitely be returning. Also, brunch is brilliant here on a weekend. A proper neighborhood gem!
Been 3 or 4 times already this year... love it. Proper Italian food, seasonal menu that’s always fresh and some stunning wines that don’t break the bank. Almost hope it doesn’t get too successful as I love that it’s local and we can always get a table! Great place...
always good and love bringing our little dog with us
I had a lovely evening at Plough Way Cafe - great food and a buzzy and relaxed atmosphere. The staff were great too - very friendly and attentive.
Good food but not authentic Italian. Go there because its local but there are better places if willing to travel a bit
Really good quality food, very family friendly and great staff attitude. Can feel a bit crowded at busy times but Food is more than enough compensation.
Really nice place. Nice atmosphere and decour. Quiet and really nice looking from outside. Great staff, very friendly and attentive. Nice food and good wine selection. Would highly recommend and will come again.
After a fantastic dinner on the 17 March where our waitress made our dinner experience fantastic, my girlfriend and I thought it would be worth trying the following Sunday for lunch. The experience on the 24 March was much different, on arrival it was clear there weren’t enough staff. After being seated in a table which we had to pull either way to get into, we noticed the strong stench of alcohol coming from the adjacent three tables, whom had finished their meals but were allowed to take up a large amount of the dining space. The stench combined with the cramped table compelled us to ask the waiter to move us to a further corner of the restaurant. His response was that he would need to clean the tables as brunch had just finished and it would take 15 minutes. With this information and the general atmosphere we thought we’d give it a miss that Sunday and leave as we were both starving. When we tried to leave the waiter stopped us to interrogate us as to why we wanted to leave. He then told me that he told my girlfriend 5 not 15 minutes to which I corrected him as I'd overheard his exact words and proceeded to tell him again that we’d rather leave. When I went to leave, clearly angered, he said to me “oh looks like she’s the one in charge anyway” I have never had a waiter talk to me like that. Your waiter was rude, arrogant and clearly crossed the line with the final comment. It's a shame that the experience differed so much from our visit the previous week..
Absolutely beautiful Italian food... lovely selection of wines. Fresh pasta just the best.
Excellent food and service. There were a couple of minor mix-ups with drinks but nothing major at all.
The portions were a good size (eg, we had two starters between three people and it was more than ample) and all of the food was very flavoursome. The tiramisu was top-notch.
Just the best place for brunch/ lunch for miles around. Lovely people, lovely venue, superb food.
By the same people who own the fabulous Canada Water Cafe. Gorgeous decor, lovely staff & delicious authentic Italian food. Their Tuesday deal is amazing value! Going to be our new go-to place!
Fabulous meal once again - great food, wine and service.
Great food and service. Incredible value for the quality they offer
This restaurant has a wonderful atmosphere and the staff are very friendly and attentive. It’s such a shame that the food is at best mediocre. Please get a decent chef in at you’d be on to an absolute winner.
Cute little spot with a nice ambiance. Service was good. Impressive choice of gluten/dairy-free options.
Food was a decent, but the portions weren't very big and took a while even though the place wasn't that busy.
One of the best places in London, a restaurant removed from road noise, with a pleasant, relaxing amibience. Food is always good, although somewhat more spicy than in other places. Very good wine as well. Waiters are all trained, nice and attentive. Had my wedding meal there, which sais enough about my trust in the place as a customer.
My bf and I frequent the cafe quite often given we live just down the road. We have brought a friend here for brunch and it worked out to be amazing food but good value! Usually comes to only £10-20pp! Authentic Italian food and fantastic wait staff. Will definitely become our weekly place now :)
One of my favorite restaurant since in moved in the area. Everyone is everytime very friendly, the food is great and homemade. Great value for money ( moreover when is the Tuesday special combo!!) .
I can only recommend it ! It is cosy, friendly, and tasty ( like Italy!)
Always love visiting Plough Way - delicious Italian food, wonderful ambience and I’ve always had fantastic service. And great value for all of the above. Highly recommend!
Really lovely place! Well cooked fresh food with a welcoming and friendly vibe. Feels like a cosy ‘local’ restaurant despite being in the city.
It was good overall.
They should have cheesecake, like the other restaurant close to Canada Water.
Great food. Great service. Great atmosphere. Positive environment. All guests enjoyed.
I love visiting this restaurant, it always feels like a treat! Their Tuesday set menu is particularly good, and the pasta dishes are the highlight for me
We always enjoy a lovely meal at Plough way
