Considering we was the only table of 5 in there, they served 1 meal and it was a while before the rest were brought out and we had to chase them about that. All Food was overcooked the beef ribs, the sweet potato fries, the Cajun fried chicken and the fish although large wasn’t very nice and didn’t get eaten. The shepherds pie was good. It’s ok for a late food after a drink or if nothing else open, but wouldn’t recommend for a meal with friends

Went for lunch here last year and it was really good. This visit however was awful! We arrived at 13.15, the window table we requested was not available which we could have dealt with and appreciate you can't always get the seat you want but the don't care attitude we were met with left a lot to be desired. They showed us to a table for 2 in a dark and rather unpleasant crowded back room corner with 4 burly men next to it with about a 2" gap in between the tables, it would have been like practically sitting on their laps!! We found a table downstairs and sat down, menus were brought and I ordered the bacon cheeseburger and my friend ordered the ham and cheese toastie, a portion of chips each and a glass of the homemade lemonade each. At 13.55 the food turned up, minus one portion of chips, we agreed to share rather than wait another age for the second portion of chips and started to eat. My burger and bacon wasn't too bad but the roll was burned, the onions and the plastic cheese were cold and the chips were like they had been steeped in grease and re-cooked a few times, the oil obviously needed changing as were dark in colour and were so salty and just a bit yucky so glad we didn’t get the 2 ordered. What was meant to be a ham and cheese toastie, was disgusting, whatever was meant to be cheese and ham was fused together and resembled a dark tan leather sole of a shoe and when I took it back to the counter, the server had the cheek to ask what was wrong with it, again, the attitude was shocking! My parents ran hotels, pubs and restaurants so I come from a catering background and I’ve never seen a toastie like that in my entire life. It was removed from the bill but with a sulk rather than an apology. Really disappointing! The lemonade was nice though so that’s one good point. I noticed there were a lot of orders going out on delivery, obviously they concentrate on those rather than customers in-person which is not good.

Great experience from start to finish. A proper place - makes a change now-a-days! Great food and efficient very friendly service. Can't complain at the cost either - very competitive

Service was all over the place had other people's food turning up at our table then when we did get our food they messed up our order so we have to send a dish back. Then we ended up getting charged for the dish we didn't order too

Got asked if we were ready to order 30 seconds after sitting down. I said no give us a chance to look at the menu. Came back after 2 mins to ask again. Had chance to choose a drink in this time so just ordered that. Drinks came from someone else. 20 mins passed and nothing so we had to get up and ask to order. Asked for poached egg instead of fried. Fried egg turned up. Went on the restraunt wifi and was given a free drink voucher. When it was time to pay the guy had never seen this offer and was confused by it. Strange as it came from their own wifi. He took a coffee off the bill which was cheaper than the beer which we had which was eligible. Overall poor customer service.
