Polpo - Brighton
Lovely small dishes and great cosy ambiance. Very friendly staff.
I was very disappointed at the poor value of this restaurant. The food was lack lustre and should be half the price it is. I will not return
Perfect in every way!
Nice place and the bigger plates were lovely. The smaller starter plates were ok but very expensive for what they were.
Amazing food and friendly staff
Perfectly pleasant evening with Italian Tapas-good quality and good service
Although part of a small chain it did not feel that way. Tasty Italian food and decent choice of wines at sensible prices. Nice service in a cosy (even though quite large) room.
menu has been shortned and is more like a standard italian restaurant , only two specials , dinks service slow and some question on the measure given.
we did not like the first table offered but were moved to another without question
Lovely lunch with a friend. Great food and friendly helpful service.
Lovely food, really nice staff. Didn't realise it was tapas before we went but we were very happy that it was.
We didn't eat due to an electrical fault leaving a limited menu available as shown on a scrappy menu with lots of pencil crossing out (much like a 5 year old would do). The staff were not certain if all the power would have to be turned off while the electrician tried to locate the fault. Staff were friendly enough but it felt like the restaurant wasn't running at all well. We ordered drinks while the electrician arrived, perhaps a complimentary drink or nibble would have been appropriate given the circumstances and may well have encouraged us to stay and write a more positive review.
As always Polpo delivers whether it is at their restaurants in London or, in this case, in Brighton.
Wife and I took our two teenage girls and enjoyed a feast of deep fried, stuffed olives, arancini, crab linguine, spinach & ricotta balls.
The service was friendly and attentive and the dining environment was perfect.
One of my favourite 'chain' restaurants.
Wow, what a great evening to celebrate my husband's 60th. An evening made easy & relaxing by our superb waiter, Steve. Nothing was too much trouble.
The food was varied & the smaller dishes a great way to experience a lot of different tastes. The baby octopus, delicious!
Our banquette table was just right & we sat next to 3 chaps who had been many times before & gave us great suggestions for each course.
The wine list was good & we spent more on alcohol than the food! You could eat well & for a fair price, minus the alcohol.
A buzzy dining experience catering for all ages.
I would only question the usual need for intrusive music. Why? Polpo doesn't need it as busy & lively enough without the need to compete with loud music 😕
Loved it the dining experience.
Polpo Brighton - our first trip to the Brighton branch and we weren't disappointed. Frito misto as delicious as ever; pizzette bianca was the best I've had; and the salads were really good too. Personally I'm not a fan of Polpo meatballs, as they have a funny texture - but otherwise a very good meal
Brilliant night out and great food and service
Had a really enjoyable evening - great food , good service and buzy atmosphere!! Took friends who had come for a visit and they loved it !
Polpo has continued to improve since it opened in Brighton and is now one of my firm favourites. Love the bar seating especially for cocktails and pizzetta.
Great food. Busy and buzzy. Good service.
All the dishes we had were really very good, including 2 pizzas, ribbon steak and sea bream. Given the price and quality of food, Polpo is of outstanding value.
we had a lovely meal. Shame a few items were missing off the menu, but otherwise it was great food. (except that the pasta was slightly overcooked).
