I found the place smelling egg and the food was really low quality. Even the poached eggs were properly boiled.
Second time I have eaten there and again it was faultless. The staff are so attentive and incredibly inviting without it being too much. We had the Sunday roast. It’s hard to make a Sunday roast stand out but this did. Tatties were amazing. Gravy, red cabbage all the veg delicious. And the lamb.... such incredible flavour and melt in tour mouth. All that rounded off with a draft Aspalls... I had a great Sunday. Obviously.
Superb cooking, beautiful balance of flavour and exceptional attention to detail! Highly recommend!
Absolutely great! The food tasted as good as it looked which was quite an achievement seeing as it was beautiful. The staff couldn’t have been friendlier. Maybe we were lucky as we dined slightly later than usual but we could easily chat without having to shout to be understood or whisper for a modicum of privacy. So overall couldn’t fault it and will definitely be back!!!
Much better than expected food and ambience but the service was very hit-or-miss to say the least. At this level of price, £100pp, we'd expect properly trained staff.
Great spot for Valentine’s dinner!
We decided to go with the A La Carte Menu rather than a Set Menu.
The Duck and Lamb were perfectly cooked and tasted amazing.
We skipped the dessert this as we were so full, but definitely coming back!
Service too quick felt like they were in a hurry
Menu was very disappointing both in terms of range and the way it was organized. It used to have much more variety and setup.
Amazing food and cocktails.
Hats off to head chef Ruth and general manager Jay - keep up the good work guys!
We had a lovely dinner at Pomona's with the Vegetarian Tasting menu (as shame that we had to ask for it rather than having it on the table at the beginning, along with the other drinks and food menus).
Great tasting experience, and for once, vegetarian dishes were all amazing, not an avalanche of cheese and fried stuffs as you can sometimes find in other places. That was proper seasonal vegetables cooked in various and innovative ways. Thanks for the experience! Desserts were amazing as well!
And the "fake" brut Champagne from London was pretty nice as well! We'll be back :)
Amazing stylish place with good ambiance. Not a lot to eat for the brunch but the food was amazing.
I've been here several times and really enjoy the food. Lovely lighting and ambience, and always warm inside!
Service a bit too attentive but cocktails and food great.
Amazing food, we had high expectations but unfortunately the service was poor. Half of our dishes were not presented when served. Neither were the wines that we requested to be paired for our dishes. And since you were not very busy we would have expected more from your friendly staff.
Great food and staff
Everything was very good EXCEPT some of our party wanted to order off the Xmas menu and we were told that we could not do this unless we had advised the restaurant when booking. There was Nothing on the website or the confirmatory booking email to say this was so.
I argued the case and then was told that we could now order from the Xmas menu but only if the whole table of 8 ordered from the Xmas menu. 4 guests wanted the a la carte menu but had to use the Xmas menu to keep the other 4 happy.
How incompetent and anti-customer focus!
Nice spot for brunch and decent drinks list but portions are quite small. Very pleasant staff
Love this warm, colourful and welcoming restaurant . The food and service matched the ambiance . The Norfolk chicken was the standout of this visit
A little overpriced for brunch and the food quality was so-so. There is also very little choice on the brunch menu. Overall the place has great potential given the great spot and layout so it is a little disappointing.
What a great evening we had! Absolutely marvelous food in a sophisticated but relaxed setting. Great value for money - best dining experience in a long time, loved all the food creations both at the bar and the table. We will be back for sure!
Neighbourhood gem that can compete with the best in town. Unique combination of flavours and great cocktail list makes for a very handy treat!
Absolutely superb, can’t wait to go back. Amazing all round
Very expensive for a poor brunch. We spent more than £60 per couple, and I only had a juice, a toast and a coffee. Not worth it.
Delicious food, cocktails and setting. I deifnitely recommend.
Service was terrible! Its a wonder the place is in business. Waiter got our order wrong then didnt even correct it. Didnt even care. We asked for extra toast and we got hot bread - not toasted.
Food was amazing! Wine list needs to be massively improved. Highly recommend Pomona’s.
Thank you for the kind words. If you would like to provide further feedback on the wine list please email me direct at firstname.lastname@example.org
Nice atmosphere and decor. However the food was nothing special. Typical brunch and the quantities quite small. Something that you could find in any other brunch place. The cocktails were a bit overrated. Ordered the mushroom fricassee with poached eggs but the eggs were clearly not poached but soft boiled.
In overall, nice to try out but would not go back any time soon.
Had a family meal, celebrating my mother in law's birthday. We were greeted by friendly receptionists. Lovely decor and interesting menu choices. Some of us wanted to try the tasting menu and others wanted to go a la carte but we were told this wasn't possible so the whole table opted for the a la carte. All dishes were great - Halibut, Duck and Bavette steak superbly cooked and we were very impressed with the chips too (extremely fluffy inside & crispy on the outside). Starters were lovely too - cauliflower dish had amazing flavour even though I would have liked it slightly less cooked. The only downside was the waiting staff who seemed enthusiastic but we just didn't feel comfortable with. We felt he was trying to come across very sophisticated and fluent in the way he tried to describe the menu. What made it difficult/awkward was when he took the bread plates away even before any of us had a chance to eat the bread and as he did so, he said to us that 'oh our restaurant do not charge for the bread'. He may have had a good intention but to us, it just came across as though he assumed none of us ate the bread for not wanting to be charged.... whereas, in reality, our bread was served and he took the plates away within a few min... Although my husband was rather offended by this exchange, we decided to try and not let it ruin our lovely dinner and we certainly did enjoy the food and wine. I would be happy to recommend the restaurant for its food to my friends but perhaps with a small caveat of our experience.
I was so excited to bring my Australian family to this restaurant to sample British food - amazing local produce and amazing flavours
However I think the menu was overly fussy - and my tuna was very bland, and the whole menu was very Expensive - especially the wine and overly fussy and small portions s
It was a shame the ingredients weren’t allowed to just shine through
Although a nice try I don’t feel the food justified the price
The place is nice in terms of design and ambience, althouth the portions are ridiculisly small. I cannot recommend it as a restaurant. Hugely overpriced
Delicious food and excellent service!!!
Excellent menu - all our party thought the food excellent. Good service and pleasant ambience. Very happy evening.
Excellent service with great food & presentation. Enjoyable evening.
We had a very enjoyable time at the restaurant. The food was delicious & the waiter was very attentive.
Quiet on an August evening. Lovely outside seating and very pleasant food and service.
Cute interior with a lovely garden. Great seasonal menu and service
Very small portions, expensive (even for Notting Hik)
I used to love the menu at pomonas but it became a bit too healthy and complicated. The scrambled eggs were a bit liquid and the salmon wasn't exceptional for the price. But the service is outstanding, as always.
Stylish sunlit spaces inside and out. Relaxed ambience and understated, but efficient service. Every single morsel of food was delicious.
Very nice diner, nice set up and service. Would definitely come back.
