I would recommend this venue for birthday groups etc who want privacy and to make their own atmosphere and ambience, however with a few warnings:
The staff were run down, exhausted and seemed unhappy and treated each other badly, it was horrible to watch them bark frustrated at each other because they weren't communicating well and couldn't understand what the other wanted, it made it uncomfortable for us tbh.
Also the staff weren't really thinking about what they were doing, it was just a matter of get it done. For eg, order coffee, it arrived alone, no sugar, we ordered sugar it arrived without a spoon, so we ordered a spoon! and because you're in a pod you cannot just get the attention of a waiter as they pass, and the call button in the booth was useless, pressed it again and again and nothing.
the seating isn't comfortable, there's no real back support so by the end of the evening we all had backache, the floor is curved as a result of the structure, so trying to keep yourself on the seat upright wasn't easy esp for women with heels who were trying to dig in somewhere for support, basically wear jeans and flats!
It's a nice experience, I think more could be done to illuminate the surrounding areas, it just seemed like a pod in a line of pods with darkness around you, it wasn't pretty.
The food was overall very good and the lamb shank was delicious as was the chilli pepper beef starter!
would we go back? Not sure, the discomfort of watching staff's behaviour and seating would make us think again.
Very unique experience and really lovely food. Would highly recommend
Absolutely amazing! Was a lovely Christmas treat for me and my partner and the setting was so beautiful he ended up proposing there so I'll never forget my experience here!
Wonderful unique dining experience! Great service, we will be back!
Service was absolutely terrible, we had to wait ages for our drinks and food
First off I have to say we really enjoyed the experience and at night the pods are beautiful. However you only get a 2 hour timeslot, so you feel under pressure to order as soon as you sit down, and you have to order your full meal at the start, so we didn't order desserts as had no idea if we would be able to eat them - the starter and main filled us up thankfully, but we didn't know that would be the case. It then takes a long time for the food to arrive, so almost as soon as you finish eating the bill arrives, so not the most relaxing experience.
With the meals, there is no starter option for children, so their main arrives half way through your starter so you are eating at different times and it's chicken nuggets or fish fingers, no good if your children don't eat meat or fish.
The food was delicious, for taste and presentation I can't fault it. However the starters for the adults came at different times, my husbands main course dinner was cold, so have to go back and be reheated so eating was very disjointed.
We ordered drinks and a drink arrived that we didn't order so we sent it back. The replacement drink took ages to arrive. We checked the drinks section of the bill when paying to make sure we hadn't been charged for the rogue drink and were happy it wasn't there. However when we got home we saw it had been added into the food part of the bill - so be careful to check bill carefully.
The child in our party having had a disappointing main, ordered chocolate ice cream for dessert and strawberry arrived! By that time we were on such a tight timescale that he just ate it.
It was a really busy evening and the waiters were rushed so we appreciate mistakes happen and all of these were little things that didn't spoil our meal or the experience, just a shame that there were several "little things"
We would go back, but only for the experience, not for the meal itself which although delicious was really expensive for what it was, definitely just for a treat.
The experience was lovely. We were greeted and taken into a wait room where we felt safe and settled we were then taken to our pod 25 minutes after our booking which was fine. However we were then told that we couldn’t do the bottomless brunch that w
Such an amazing restaurant with the best food. Definite would be visiting again!
In the current climate this is the perfect choice for dining.
Thank you so much - I proposed to my fiancé in one of the pods - service atmosphere and food was all outstanding !
This was our 2nd visit within 2 weeks but this time without the kids. Beautiful views, great ambience, fantastic service and delicious food. For sure a new frequent spot for us going forward. Highly recommend the Prawn dishes!
Unfortunately the service was terrible. We waited over an hour for our main course after our starters, they arrived 2 hours after we sat down and only 1 hour before closing. Before this, we waited about half an hour to receive our drinks. We also ordered a bottle of wine, which was £60, they forgot to cork the bottle and when they came back to do it, the waitress snapped the cork in half and did not offer another bottle or really apologise.
The food, when it came, was lovely however and it was nice to be in a pod with your own music plugged in!
We had the most amazing waitress, Laura, who was exceptional, made our whole evening so much more enjoyable. Food was delicious and the vibe was amazing. Would return again with friends!
Very expensive the food was bland no table cloths as shown in pictures just a couple of plates slung on a plastic coated wood effect table went in the evening so it was dark the pods looked very impressive
Very nice brunch
Would definitely recommend
Amazing place. Staff are so lovely and food and cocktails are delicious. Can’t wait to go again.
Lovely experience and delicious food - no complaints! Service was also very good
Excellent food and staff. We enjoyed our evening.
Was a lovely meal!
Could hear the music but could also talk to eachother.
Our starters were late but spoke to the very friendly staff and they sorted it out very quickly, apologised and gave us a free pudding!
Food was very overpriced. Minimum spend was only £100 and deffo not worth it for limited food.
Perfect in every way. Really romantic with the lights at night. Can play your own music in the pods.
Pods lovely and warm. Beautiful and very pretty. We went for my birthday. Quiet expensive but the food and service was good. A lovely treat.
It was absolutely amazing! Great service , and food was so flavoursome! My husband and I enjoyed it very much, will be back soon xx
Excellent food but average service, bottomless brunch could have been more generous
Was a great ambiance with great views
Food was over priced but did taste good.
Delicious food, warm pods and great service. I would highly recommend.
Really unique experience. Went there for our daughter's 16th birthday. It will hopefully be a great memory for her. Such a lovely setting
Food was good and good portion size. Good service from staff and very friendly
Great food, lovely atmosphere and fantastic service - Christina, who took our order and served us our food was brilliant. She was lively and friendly- thank you Christina.
What a beautiful venue service was on point too!
Tasty food with lovely ambience. Romantic setting if you go for dinner in the evening. Would be great if staff informed you how to turn the heating up in the pods. Luckily my husband managed to figure it out by chance.
Great concept and atmosphere and given the current situation a great way to meet family outdoors. However the portions are small and over priced for the quality and service. I’ve been to better restaurants and tasted better food. Kulfi served microwaved is a big no!
Came here for my friends birthday and I am so glad I booked this place! It was amazing and so perfect. The scenery around you, the pods, the music, the food was all superb and we all enjoyed it so much. Thank you to Lovisa and Christina who were doing a great job in the rain and got us what we needed. Would definitely come back again !
Highly recommend Ponsbourne Pods especially if you live around North London. Beautiful concept set on beautiful grounds. I went on a rainy grey day and it still felt special.
Staff were really friendly and helpful too!!
Amazing place. Was there on my husband birthday and food and service was excellent.
Amazing experience and food lovely
Just the portions are a bit on the smaller side so sharing is difficult
going there again.....
Beautiful ambiance, friendly staff, delicious food..
Great food and great experience
Lovely food and amazing ambience with the different sized pods! One criticism i have is with the waiters, in that there is no way to get their attention unless they come to the pod. Would suggest implementing some sort of buzzer system inside the pods. Loved the fact that you could play your own music!
Great fun evening in a pod. Service was good although they made a couple of errors, they took the service charge off the bill which was unnecessary. We are looking forward to going back.
Ponsbourne Pods offers takeaway which you can or
