Service was fast and the real ale was great. Roast was hot and tasty at a fair price. What more could you ask?!

This is our favourite pub to eat in at pooley bridge. Staff are so friendly and the food is great. Dogs welcome. In winter they have two fires burning which is very cosy. Highly recommend a visit

Was really busy when we were there, glad we booked. Staff were really friendly & welcoming. Food choice was good, hubby had the butcher's block; really good quality meat & cooked as requested, I had the ham egg & chips, nice clean plate however, the eggs were over cooked, they weren't inedible which is why I didn't send them back but the chef in charge of the eggs needed to catch them sooner. Would Def return though.

Lovely place , very warm vibrant atmosphere and staff are on the whole friendly. However we paid over the odds for a pasta that was tasteless and a fruit crumble that tasted like sick. The fish and chips were good. Kebabs not so good . Over priced. It’s great for a few drinks and starter but other than that its pinching above its weight with over inflated charges for mediocre food.

Booked via the website easy to do. Got a text the day before to ask us to confirm if we still want the reservation. On arrival taken to door of pub and pointed to our table in the courtyard. (Probably due to drizzle) ordered as advised in the wood hut after waiting 2mins for staff to finish conversation. Having ordered starters, mains and 2 drinks per person 2 being hot drinks, the next person behind ordered hot drinks and was told need to do this inside and while she was there she might as well order food there too. Which wasn't correct as we'd just ordered from the wood hut as advised. Next starters arrived was quickly and were very good. However when the mains arrived the starter plates were left on the end of the table. The next table who had just been shown to their table asked for menus and was told you can get them inside. Surely if you are shown to a table, wouldn't you bring menus too. Therefore I passed our menu across. Overall main course just average, service could do a lot better. £100 for an average meal, very disappointed.
