Strange, covid-affected Boxing Day lunch. Few people about, but lots of parking places - never seen St Ives like this at Christmas. Many eateries closed because of cancellations from tier 4, and despite being one of the few places open, there were many vacant tables.
I eat there often, so I clearly enjoy it and won't say much more other the service and food were as good as ever.
Love it.

Lovely spot for a meal or just a cup of coffee. Tables overlooking the beach and if you’re lucky you might see the seals swimming by. Food is delicious and staff always very friendly. Well organised to allow for distancing.

Food was average, veggie breakfast was not as substantial as the meat breakfast and for almost the same cost but the setting is perfect and therefore makes it worth it.

The food was amazing as always. So delicious. Staff are so friendly.
However we were so disappointed to find that dogs are now allowed in the restaurant.
It started as a nice relaxing evening but soon progressed into jumping out of our skins every 5 mins because of barking, dogs slobbering and eating big dog bones and old serviettes under the tables. It also concerns me that the dogs were getting cuddles from the staff between serving tables, I really really hope hands were washed.
I really didn't want to eat my dinner in a kennel. Not for that price anyway!
Its a hygiene issue and an atmosphere issue.
Such a shame.

We had a really good evening which was made even better by the moonlight on the sea. However it was slightly ruined by an experience which I am pleased to say I have not had before. Our server informed us soon after we arrived that they were nervous because someone from a popular daily newspaper was coming that evening. Our food order was taken but about 10 minutes later we were told there was no crab salad left. Guess what a large crab salad appeared on the table next to us about 15 minutes later! I know we all like to think we are an important customer but it is a shame to have ones nose rubbed in it so obviously. We left a good tip because I don't blame the server. Sadly, that makes me not want to go there...

Looking for a table with a view, you've found it here.
Very clean, staff friendly , views lovely, breakfast was ok, evidently the large in Cornwall isnt the same as else where ? Cutting toast in half isn't exactly two toast ?
Still food was pleasant , fair value.
May be difficult to access if in a wheelchair, slope outside would be a challenge.

This restaurant has the most glorious view of the beach and we were lucky enough to be given the perfect table, right next to the big windows. The staff are young, friendly and helpful and the food was very good, although there was a bit of a wait between our starter and main course - we were just about to say something when it arrived with charming apologies. Anyway, I think you're likely to have a good evening if you come and eat here. There are 2 car parks nearby - you need to park in the Island car park (free after 6pm) as the other one is private.

Originally I had booked a table for five. Three of our party didn’t make it to St Ives so earlier in the week I informed Porthgwidden. They put us on table for two in the window. The food as usual was very good and well cooked. I had the Red Cabbage soup that was good and different. For the main course I had the Crab Pasta.
As usual the staff was friendly and the service was very good.
We shall be back next year.
