It was fantastic amazing location
Stunning food lovely staff
Thank you so much
Very nice meal, my seafood linguine was delicious, bought garlic bread to have with it and it was really tasty!
Very good food and service. The Squid and the Korean cauliflower starters were particularly enjoyed.
Other diners rather too loud for us. The noise levels are probably due to the nature of the restaurant layout and decor.
We would visit again.
Very tasty food, nice atmosphere and lovely service
Amazing food, amazing view and brilliant staff. Very friendly and attentive . Would definitely recommend. Hope to go again very soon.
Our second experience of Porthminster Kitchen was superb. We dined early on a weekday evening so it was quite quiet. We had great, undivided attention and the food was exceptional - wonderful flavour & satisfyingly big portions. We will return. Thank you for making my birthday special.
Only wish is that staff would stop trying to clear down and finish up for the evening before they’re finished serving customers, assuming not to ask if anyone would like additional drinks or even a desert once the main course has come out, it’s really annoying
Lovely fresh oysters to start followed by great starters and one of the best steaks I’ve ever had!
Really loves views from the restaurant as it’s on the 1st floor. Very seaside luxury feel.
The fish was excellent. The mackerel pate was to die for! You must order this (even if you don’t like mackerel I guarantee you’ll love it!) the scallops were fresh and cooked to perfection and the chowder really nice and warming. Very happy we paid a visit
Excellent service, really nice ambient, and food. 100% recommended
Great food and service as usual.....
Excellent food, customer service. Very friendly staff and they reassured you with safety with their COVID 19 procedures
Food fantastic except refried/heated chips which weren’t as freshly cooked as hoped. Battered fish was tad overdone and batter dark brown/burnt at edges... but chowder was stunning.... service excellent and location great.
Wonderful food, definitely “gourmet” with some amazing tastes. A talented team
Servers did not come to our table except to take our order and drop off food. They were quick to leave the table without asking if we needed anything. The restaurant was out of the dish I wanted to order and dish I ended up choosing (the fillet) was mediocre for the price I paid.
Lovely food service was great wine was expensive but good, side order of broccoli and leek was undercooked to the point of raw and couldn’t find any leek!
The other half doesn’t usually like anything seafood or fish, but we both had fish for starter and main course. And my god was it amazing, so much flavour and simply delicious food!! St Ives has fast become our very own happy place and we will definitely be returning to Porthminster Kitchen in the future.
Delicious food!! Service was excellent, just right. Would definitely return a little pricey but worth it.
It was a real pleasure to enjoy an evening out after lockdown
Family post Lockdown meal out. We came here just before Lockdown and celebrated coming out of Lockdown here. Amazing staff, very lovely service. The fillet of beef was delicious as was the catch of the day - hake with a cider sauce with kale and gnocchi. Great looking out over the Christmas harbour lights of St Ives.
We really enjoyed our meal overall.
My starter of monkfish tandoori lacked spice I thought.
Main was delicious.
Pudding wasn't really tempt us so we had the cheese which was delicious.
Overall great place to eat and am going back next week!!
The service was great, friendly and knowledgable about the food and wine, the food was excellent, we had the duck tacos as an appetiser, followed by the duck parfait which was super light on a crunchy base, and the cauliflower starter (my husband said he could just have eaten plate after plate of the cauliflower!).
I had the seafood linguine, which was delicious, and my husband had the fish of the day, which was Hake with Gnocchi, he said that is how Gnocchi is supposed to be cooked - a dig at me I'm sure as I cooked it earlier in the week ;)
We were too full for dessert, so we finished off with another glass of wine instead. We had the recommended paired wines with our different courses, which were lovely.
Highly recommend Porthminster Kitchen, and will definitely be back.
Was recommended this restaurant by my sister who is a local, when we were visiting. The staff were amazing and lovely. The food was brilliant loved everything course, delicious 😋
Great food, good service. Lovely dinner was had by all.
Lovely food, my favourite in St Ives.
Wonderful food, friendly service and the restaurant itself was really sweet.
We spent a lovely Saturday afternoon here, the 'Catch of the Day' was beautiful.
Lovely roast dinner, excellent staff and Covid safe 😁
Excellent food. The steak was cooked to perfection.
Delicious food and well thought out layout, with every table having a view out onto the beach. Will be returning
My fiancé and I had a three course meal and genuinely loved each course. 10/10 would recommend. Thank you!
Well...let me start by saying that this restaurant should be nowhere close to a Michelin rating of any sort. It shouldn't even have a Michelin guide on premise...the food is ok but nothing to write home about. We drove way out of our way to visit this place because of the Michelin rating. Unfortunately, I am starting to think Michelin is going the same way Zagat did. Hasn't happened yet as we still discover amazing places like The Anchos in Ripley, Surrey...but the mediocre places are getting in way too often. Is the Michelin guide on the path to meaningless?
Great location, amazing view across the harbour. The food was very tasty, fresh, nicely presented and worth the money. Would revisit.
Great dish of the day. If in St Ives again will definitely visit
Thank you- delicious food and you catered for our nut allergic son without a problem.
Fab u lous! Great food, service and atmosphere.
Covid safe - Hake was amazing.
Great meal in a fantastic location overlooking St Ives harbour.
Fish of the day was delicious, children's fish and chips were perfect and the mackerel pate is to die for
Just really fabulous, comfortable and delicious. (Thought food could do with a touch more seasoning.)
Good food friendly staff, not cheap but worth it would go again for a special occasion
The oysters were so delicious, made the meal! All mains were tasty and fresh, so delicious. Would recommend this restaurant as chilled, unpretentious, cosy and a taste explosion!
