Made a reservation for 1030 throught the opentable app. I arrived at 10 only to be told that they were closed.
This is dining, not eating! Spicy chili relleno with duck confit perked up the day. Handmade tacos (not those crispy store ones) loaded with savory fillings that don't require a magnifier to find them. Four big pieces of char-grilled octopus tacos, savory Mexican-style house-made clam chowder bowl. Lightly fried, non-greasy yucca vs. steamed. Very flavorful Argentinian Malbec house wine. Pricey? Try their Happy Hour for reduced-priced regular-menu tacos and wines, plus the Executive Lunch M-F only. Service was stellar the two times I visited. Pleasant outdoor corner dining offers impressive architectural views of the Anaheim Civic Center. It's almost like being in Mexico, even more Mexican-gourmet than Santa Ana! Awesome!
Great food so different but so flavorful and very good service.
Everything was delicious, temptingly presented and served with warmth and efficiency! We will definitely be back!
Pour Vida offers a variety of chef inspired creation that change your entire concept of Latin influenced foods.
Friends had recommended this place and they were right. Our party of 4 ordered between us 9 items and each one was excellent. The amount of they use for their ahi tuna taco is very generous, the different sauces and glazes delicious. We will definitely be back!
Great food and service. Anaheim Hamburger taco was an unexpected pleasure. Chili relleno was outstanding
Love what they’ve done with the new location! Food is great, tacos are as good as always (get the Brussels sprout). Think they’re working on a happy hour. The outdoor seating is nice and the place is super cute
I love the relaxed feel of this place – loved the patio and the comfortable chairs. I definitely would return to try more dishes. The shrimp and beef tacos were spot on. The table was split on the chile relleno, one person thought it was great, but another felt that the taste was a bit lacking. The habanero salsa was excellent, the flavor was earthy & very hot. Service was very friendly, but a dish was sent back because it was not what we ordered and the server forgot things and finally brought them at the end of our meal.
Loved the new menu at Pour Vida as it caters to every tastebud. Enjoyed the added brunch options but I will always fallback to the homemade (only found at Pour Vida) tacos. Staff was nice and as always the food was delicious. The decor even down to the dinnerware has a unique touch. Highly recommend!
New location!! Awesome new patio, and menu choices! Tacos are amazing!
Delicious gourmet tacos. Pricey but still worth it.
WE LOVE POUR VIDA! We were disappointed overall in the new menu. There was definitely NOTHING that needed to be changed about their menu. This has been our favorite, go-to restaurant since it opened. The major plus is that the brussels sprout taco hasn't changed (thank god). My favorite taco, the pineapple steak, was terrible. It had zero flavor and the cabbage on top was changed. This was so sad!
Aside from that, the food was good. Seemed like a new staple will be the Mole sauce, which was on 3 items that we ordered (not a fan).
Items of concern:
Nacho fries are no longer on the menu.
"Sides" to go with the skillet items are sides from the breakfast menu. It was strange to have to choose from eggs, sausage, bacon, potatoes, or berries to go with our dinner.
No silverware was offered or hot sauce. And the only knife was a small knife with no blade to spread butter/jam.
Each item came out one at a time with a wait in between.
Service was extremely slow with only a few other tables, but very polite!
Didn't have breakfast, but the menu had tacos/burritos $3.50 each. Which seems very odd considering their previous breakfast burrito was really good and well over $3.50 But the rest of the breakfast menu looked delicious.
Overall: We will continue to eat at here, but will most likely continue to only order tacos. The smashie was good (minus the dipping sauce) and the skillet was good, but Pour Vida is about the tacos! My one hope is that the pineapple steak taco will be fixed because that was the best. In our opinion, nothing was broke so it didn't need to be fixed!
So thrilled that Pour Vida is back! They are in a new location offering more seating, including expanded patio seating. The menu has also expanded with skillets, bowls, and “squashies”. Can’t wait to go back!
