POWDERKEG specialises in delicious cocktails, British craft beers and an ever-changing wine list.
The food at POWDERKEG is all about combining simplicity with big, punchy flavours, whether you’re enjoying a quick bar snack or sitting down to dinner with friends. Executive chef Dave Cousin has created an approachable, seasonal British menu with a modern twist, that fits perfectly with our vibrant bar.
With a 2am licence on Fridays and Saturdays, it’s also a great local spot to book for drinks parties.
Weekends we offer a very local brunch with all your modern favorites as well as a cracking Sunday Roast which you can enjoy with our regular Sunday sessions live music.
Opentable said there were tables available to be booked. So we booked. Only to be told late at night and then with a phone call less than 2 hours before explaining there was no available tables. Disappointing
Amazing cocktails and very personalised service. Food was really good (but secondary to the cocktails for sure).
I found the music slightly too loud but I guess it is a restaurant off the back of a bar and a Friday night.
I really loved the Valentine’s menus and thought the food was great value. The place is beaut and the staff were very amicable! I will definitely go again with my pals!
Lovely food and atmosphere and the service was absolutely superb. Will be back for dinner as I imagine the dining area is very romantic in the evening.
Great Sunday roast!
Great for a lazy Sunday lunch. Roast chicken was the best I’ve ever had - full of flavour, tender and juicy. Huzzah for the new cocktail menu - well chosen, well-designed, and well-executed.
Food was decent and homely, perfect for a casual dinner with friends. Belly pork was a little over done and the crackling chewy. Desert was homemade pear pie which was a good winter warmer homemade dish. Cocktail list was good though we stuck to wine/water.
very good food and pretty setting in the restaurant area
Service and staff were amazing, could not fault them at all. We had booked in for dinner, food was great, but atmosphere is more like a bar so not great if you want a quiet catch up, but saying that we still had a lovely evening.
Great roast here....fab service as always
Food was great loved the small unique menu and the amount of gin on offer. Unfortunately service was slow and the food was overpriced.
That being said we did have a great evening for friends catching up.
One great barman. One moody one.
Pretty dead but was a Monday.
Food came far to quick and tasted deep fried. Suggests it’s not all made to order.
Far from terrible and the (dark haired) waiter was sharp and welcoming plus food was ok.
6/10. Probs 7 on any other night but the Monday.
Would go again so couldn’t be that bad!
Sunday roast was terrible and expensive
Went for Mother’s Day everywhere was booked so stumbled on this great roast and great service and lovely conservatory feel to it - very enjoyable experience!!
Had a great time, staff were really nice and we got a free Bellini with our brunch! Definitely recommend
This was the second time I went to this restaurant, the first time was for an early dinner, I really liked but this time I didn't. The table they got us was way to small, we were 3 guys seated on a 2 people table, it was really noisy, not a good experience. I reckon that this restaurant is good if you go earlier or for brunch, do not do for later dinners, this if you don't like to scream, and be in a tinny table.
We've been to Powder Kg before and enjoyed a great night with restaurant meal. This is now tapas food and whilst food was ok means more expense and less satisfying in our view if you want a full meal not nibbles. Staff were lovely however and its a lovely setting - now more of a bar than a restaurant.
Food was tasty but there wasn't a lot of it. We went for brunch and ordered a couple of extra things to make up for the small main.
The brunch menu is also a small one so there aren't enough options to choose from.
Experience was overall average- seems to be style over substance here.
I love the recent refurbishment, everything looks gorgeous ! The new menu is an absolute must. I only picked 2 dishes this time, but will undoubtedly be back for more soon !
I booked for myself and wife on our 10 year Wedding Anniversary and we requested seating in conservatory which was an awesome choice to enjoy the amazing food. The bar area was very lively and would be fantastic on a men's or women's group night. Staff couldn't do enough to please and we will definitely be back.
The space the pretty, drinks are good, food is fine, but service wasn't up to standard and music was too loud in the restaurant area.
Wanted to try something new in clapham as have not been here before. Was good fun and nice (not amazing) food. Good atmosphere and good for the price. So generally a good evening.
Fabulous as always - Oliver looked after us impeccably :) thanks PKD!
This place probably best quality and service in Clapham Junction area. Next level.
Wow! Who knew this gem was only 5 mins from Clapham Junction. Amazing design, great staff and food better then the standard local fair. Cocktails in the bar followed by dinner in the conservatory was just right. Noticed an intimate little private dinning room as well for next time.
Wonderful food - exceptional service. You get exactly what you ask for, nothing is any trouble. Very friendly staff and helpful.
