Mona Trattoria, a family-operated Italian restaurant that operated for some 30 years, followed after the home was converted to a restaurant. In 2002, actor Stanley Tucci bought it and renamed it Finch Tavern, renovating it with dark wood shutters and soft yellow banquettes that feel fresh today. In 2006, Jimmy Gjevukaj and his family took over the premises and relaunched the restaurant as Primavera, continuing the tradition of fine Italian dining in a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
Excellent dining experience!! Definitely one of the best restaurants in Westchester. If you looking for real Italian food this is it!
Great but tables too close together for COVID-19
Had Valentines dinner , food , service and ambiance fantastic. Will def go back!
Was very disappointed. The chicken francese was very mushy. The shrimp francese tasted off and the clams oreganata was very chewy. The deserts and wine were good but the prices were out of control.
Food tasted like it was cooked a day early and served like leftovers that came out of the fridge. Way overpriced for the food and service, and while I left a nice tip, it was only because of the strife of food service workers in this pandemic age. But quite frankly, we left and said "that was a waste of good money. Extremely dissapointed.
FOOD WAS DELICIOUS.WAITERS WERE EXCELLENT.ALL AROUND GREAT TIME.I WOULD HIGHLY RECCOMEND PRIMAVERA.
Sub-par food for the price and for the lofty, fine-dining “aesthetic” that Primavera exudes and promises. Service was lovely, and we greatly enjoyed the heating lamps.
We had a wonderful time. Servers were attentive, food was wonderful!
The Carpaccio di Manzo is perfect! And save room for dessert-bananas/strawberries flame is outstanding!
Great food and service! Will definitely return!!!
Would highly recommend have excellent food and service.
Great service and kind waiters very helpful food was outstanding
Excellent lunch, all aspects. There were only 4 patrons in the entire restaurant which was great for social distancing but not good for the establishment. Highly recommend, we need to keep good restaurants in business.
Love dinner and the banana/strawberry flame dessert is a MUST!!
Overall we will be back. Far as food you get plenty and prepared perfectly. My Halibut the lemon was over powering, wifes Scallops & Risotto perfect.Would definitely recommend.
Excellent food and service as usual; Very slow Sunday evening. Portions are large; wine list is extensive.
It was Restaurant Week. My wife ordered from the regular menu, I from the fixed price Restaurant Week menu. Food from both was excellent. Service was courteous, quick and efficient, all with masks. Table spacings were safely socially distant. A great experience all around.
They were a little heavy on the sauce. I had the chicken parm and it was ¾ sauce, but was good. My wife had the ravioli and it too was ¾ sauce. Oh and $10 for a glass of wine is insane. I can go other places with the same or more quality and get a glass of wine for damn near half that. Some guy sitting in the other corner of the room was so loud talking about everyone's business. Assuming clients he was taking about with the guy at the table with him. Every other word out of his mouth was the F word. Assuming a "regular" because of how he was talking to the staff. Shooing them away half the time when they came over to ask if they needed anything and not even making eye contact with them. Plus his phone was on high volume and kept going off and he was also watching videos with the volume up all the way. If he is there the next time I go back I will not stay. That's all I need while I'm trying to have a meal with my wife and or children. F this, F him, F that and hear other people's business from him.
As always Jimmy the manager working under stressful circumstances with Corona virus still had staff and kitchen well prepared. Tables were separated, staff was attentive but was obviously giving extra space to patrons. Food spectacular as always. Even got a Happy Birthday song from singing waiter (sorry maybe Tom but not sure) . Will definitely be back soon
The food is fresh and so delicious. Their fish is fresh and seasoned to perfection. They are more than happy to attend to the customer's requests. Whether you dine in or take out you won't be disappointed!
Nice quiet meal with good service in a lovely old mansion.
A gem of Westchester.
Great service, excellent food. Loved the quiet ambiance.
Meh. Great spot. Food disappointing. Service seems scattered and unorganized
We were dining here with the intent to Book a private party. Service was great and attentive, atmosphere is lovely but the food was disappointing. I ordered a scallop dish because I love risotto. My risotto was white rice with mushrooms, my salad was ice cold and under dressed and the veal dish my husband tried was just ok. They have an amazing reputation but our experience was mediocre I am very sad to say.
This is our local Italian Restaurant, and it continues to provide excellent food, always.
This Saturday, it was very crowded, a measure of its reputation. The food continued to be delivered hot, tasty, good as always. The Kitchen was a little slower, as the kitchen maintained its usual quality Fish is a specialty, and the man next to me devoured the whole Bronzino, practically licking his chops. The baked clams, calimari, several types of fish are perfection. 'Nuff Said.
I’ll begin by stating this is my first review I have written. The first frustration was finding a parking spot. We ended up parking on the grass as there were no spots remaining. Once in the restaurant we waited 45 minutes for our reserved table. To the restaurants favor, they compped us an after dinner drink for our wait. Once seated we became invisible. Bread was plopped on the table with some olives and we didn’t see anyone for another 15 minutes after we flagged down the maitre d. Food was acceptable. Two dishes came out lukewarm but we were not about to send it back.
Bottom line, it was a really off night for the restaurant and staff. Too many great restaurants to return to this one.
This restaurant is a local favorite we frequent often. The food selection is great and is always delicious, and it didn’t disappoint tonight. Service is usually good as well. Unfortunately Tonight seemed to be an off night.
Nice atmosphere, good service but the food is too heavy, creamy. No subtlety at all.
It’s been excellent From front door
Maître d’ ,.. waitress stuff
And Food
Just excellent
Highly recommend it
Definitely will be back
You MUST order the scallops and risotto, delish!!!
Lovely restaurant in beautiful old building. Food and service were top notch!
We really enjoyed dining at Primavera! Our wait person was extremely solicitous and aimed to please. The food was great; fresh and plentiful.. Will look forward to returning!
Although it was a crowded New Years Eve dinner, the staff was professional and personal spending more then adequate time with our party. It was yam excellent evening
New Years Eve. Every table was taken and in spite of the the service was great.
The Hist was gracious and we were seated within
5 min of arrival.
The food was delicious.
Looking forward to our next visit.
We had a lovely dinner , food very good. However we were seated next to a loud boisterous group which made our conversation difficult. I felt large groups should be seated in a corner of the restaurant instead of right in the middle where everyone is forced to listen to them. I would return for all the other good reasons but more aware who I’m seated next to.
Eaten here many times. The service has always been exceptional, and one is never rushed. The perfect place for a group of people, to relax, eat well, and have pleasant conversation.
The last three times. i have been to this restaurant the service has been absolutely terrible. short staffed, slow and they can’t seem to get it together. It’s a shame because the food is fantastic
The service was focused and terrific on what was obviously a busy evening. The food was well prepared and serviced timely. The consistency with which this restaurant operates is well above the norm. My recommendation is to given them a try as you will not be disappointed based on my experiences with them.
We dine here all the time for all kinds of occasions ranging from special birthdays, romantic dinners and nights out with friends. The staff is always warm, attentive and accomodating. The menu offers a wide selection, and never disappoints. The quality of the food is excellent. The halibut is a go to dish for me, as well as the lump crabmeat appetizer. My husband LOVES the chicken Parm. We have had many dishes and all have been excellent. This night we had our business holiday dinner, and all attending were very pleased with our choice to host at Primavera. My only wish, was that the bar area debuted new weekly/monthy crafted cocktail specials. I would like a little more variety there. They offer a complete bar, and the cocktail menu is great too. I just love trying new, unique concoctions. Overall this is an all time, local favorite for us. So happy we have an outstanding restaurant like Primavera in our neck of the woods :). We will definitely be back. They also offer valet parking because it does get crowded, we aren't the only ones who love Primavera. The parking attendant is super friendly and professional as well!
