Still the highest quality meat anywhere in New Jersey. Beautiful dry aging room on display for everyone to see.
I go once every 2-3 months. byo is great. meat is excellent, as a rule. my service is good to great. they will bring extra glasses for different wines. 4 or more , try carnivore plate.pricey but good.
caveat: tips are shared. small parking area, but street parking available.
The best steak, seafood and desserts ever, it's a little pricey but it's worth it, the food is cook perfection and it's delicious.
We go as often as possible!! Food is always on point!
Been here tons of times but most recently for New Year’s dinner! Atmosphere was exactly what we wanted-no crazy party or wild people. Just friendly people who enjoy good food! Food and service were amazing, as always. Will keep coming back :-)
For the price the food should be better
I don't mind the ambiance and noise level as much as food quality and quantity. Service was very good and the reason I will not recommend this restaurant is because the value is not there. We ordered Delmonico for 2 which was supposed to be 32 oz., my experience? it was not 32 oz. as usually my wife and I order this quantity to share in other steakhouses and there is always lot left over but this was not even enough for 2 of us and our boys felt same way with their Bone in Ribeye as well. Quality was good but not worth the price as our medium came with as much of pink in the middle as our boys' medium rare.
Hands down, definitely the best Steak in New Jersey.
Food is outstanding. James our server is outstanding
Steak was so good and even all the sides that we ordered were delicious. Servers were attentive and accomodating.
There steak was amazing !!
Amazing food and service
Awesome dinner!! This place is a jewel !!
Great great steaks, that’s what they’re all about. Rest of the menu is very limited
Food always consistent
Food was just great
This is the second time I come here hoping it would be better but it’s still the same. They don’t season their food. The meat was cooked good but bland as was the mashed potatoes. Everyone at my table said the same thing. We kept asking for salt and pepper. Would be a great spot if they just invested in some salt.
This is the steakhouse I've been desiring. The food is fantastic, all aged beef, with excellent accompaniments. The ability to have such fine food at lunchtime and to dress casually is fantastic. Their having a parking lot is a plus.
Food was AMAZING and so was the service. Second time dining there and I have not been disappointed
Always outstanding Prime Dry Aged Steaks with excellent service!!!
Always amazing! Food is superb and quality is excellent!!
This was the BEST experience ever. Cant wait to go back again. Xoxo
We came to Prime & Beyond based on a recommendation and reputation of being better than Peter Luger. I wanted to give a detailed review for those who have heard the same thing.
Location - It's right over the GW Bridge and easy to find. The restaurant is uncomfortably small and the parking lot has roughly ten (10) parking spaces so you better arrive nice and early or you will be circling the area looking for a spot on the street.
Food (Bread): It's an underrated aspect of any dining experience. It didn't require a second bite to realize that this bread was plain awful.
Food (Appetizer/Starters): We had the Thick Cut Bacon. It was up to the task, it was perfectly cooked, juicy and tasteful. In fact, after a few bites, we immediately ordered a second round.
Food (Steak): The star of the show. We had the Porterhouse for two (medium rare). This too, was perfectly cooked. It was tender, juicy and just seemed to melt in your mouth. Absolutely Amazing!!!!
Sides: We had the creamed spinach which was also very good. It was creamy, perfectly seasoned and also had a "bread crumb/au gratin" type topping to it. Now, if onion rings are your thing then these are bucket-list worthy. Crunchy, tasty and the perfect compliment to a great steak. The final side was the Kimchi Fried Rice. This steakhouse has a Korean flair to it so it wasn't surprising to see this on the menu. However, in my "personal opinion" it doesn't fit in a steakhouse that's serving these types of steaks. It was very spicy which to me overwhelms the taste of the steak!
Dessert: We had the Tiramisu Cake and all I can say is WOW!!! Normally, I'm not big on dessert, but this was a great way to end the meal.
Overview: Prime & Beyond vs. Peter Luger? STOP IT! If I lived in NJ, would I drive past Prime & Beyond to go to Peter Luger? NO! Prime & Beyond takes a back seat to no steakhouse and I look forward to coming back!
P.S. Major props to James (Manager) who took great care of us. Great job, sir!
I have seen other reviews of people saying that this is a neighborhood gem, but after driving by this restaurant for 10 years, I finally had dinner there. From the outside, it does not look inviting at all, but looks are very deceiving here and the restaurant is incredible. I can't believe that I missed out on it for all of these years.
First, the food is far beyond anyone's expectations. It is not just the superb meats with the truffle salt for dipping on the side, but the side dishes each have a little twist to the flavor that make them outstanding. The Brussels sprouts have a smoky meat mixed in and the spinach is mixed with something that I cannot even tell you what it was other than it was really delicious.
For people that like Steak tartar, I would rate theirs the best I have ever had, and that includes comparing it against the top Manhattan restaurants.
Anyway, I cannot wait to go back and try to something else.
Birthday celebration always consistently excellent steaks and side dishes
If you're looking for a terrible meal with an expensive bill and a rude owner who doesn't appreciate his customers, you found just the right spot
Absolutely a horrible experience guaranteed
Best USDA Prime Dry Aged steaks in NJ & NY PERIOD!
We go as often as possible it’s good quality food!
This is a little gem of northern New Jersey. We especially loved the ambience of it.. some steak houses are pretentious the clientele and the service but not this place. Also loved that it was byob! Would recommend in a heart beat to a friend looking for a quality steak place.
Good! Will come back.
I had a great time
You will have the best steaks you've ever eaten!!!!
Everyone is very nice. James made good tips and recommendations. It’s a little tight though. I’m literary behind another customers back.Otherwise, overall is great!
This place is great. Food and cooked to perfection and service was perfect!!! The owner James interacts with the customers like he is one of them and really loves what he does and it shows. I will continue to go to the place when I want great service and great steak..
Too pricey steak was very chewey They were very nice and attentive but the steaks were not worth it We finally were offered filet mignon instead The foie gras was overpriced I would not recommend this place for steaks
I've eaten in many restaurants that specialize in steak but Prime and Beyond may be the best steaks I've ever eaten.
Overall experience was very good. Food was delicious. Waitstaff could be more polished/attentive. They seemed new.
Jason and the crew knows how to handle their business. This place is a hidden gem!!
I don't normally write reviews but I was really disappointed with the food. My friends and I been going to prime for a long time but have to say this was the worst food experience. All 5 of us had to ask them to reheat the steak bc it came out so raw. Also they don't season the steak at all. The only good thing was the soup. The service was good but the food was not up to par
