Modern European
Provisioners is a welcoming, all-day a la carte restaurant whose menu features seasonal ingredients from local suppliers, inspired by dining experiences around the world.

On the lunch and dinner menus, wholesome and hearty mains follow vibrant starters, incorporating European influences throughout. From simple dishes with only two or three ingredients, through to complex plates that burst with flavour.

Versatile with two distinct offerings, Provisioners’ adjoining cafe projects an Italian vibe, with signature coffee blend ‘Shakedown’, cakes and toasted sandwiches served by day, before turning into a wine and charcuterie bar in the evening.

Courtroom Bar, just meters away from Provisioners, is located within The Dixon, Tower Bridge. Serving artisan cocktails and locally sourced spirits, Courtroom Bar is the perfect destination for a pre-dinner aperitif or a cocktail to end the night.

Food was dreadful. Flabby bacon. Sausage looked pink. Mushrooms watery. Lukewarm at best. Really mean portions. Very poorly presented.
Sent it all back and did not pay for the food.
We had booked at a time on Sunday that was clearly the no man’s land between breakfast and brunch so I suspect the chef was on a break.
We even had the cleaner hoovering around us.
We paid for our drinks but I don’t think we should have done as the entire experience was ruined.

A bit soulless and completely dead which was unusual on a Friday night. Food was fair, nothing very interesting. Pretty forgettable really. Service was good.

Never mind the manager didn’t have our booking. Left us standing mid sentence. Certain drinks not available and food menu (limited brunch only menu) was very average and bland for the price. It was also fairly empty which didn’t help the ambience. Lovely Bauhaus style furniture though but won’t return despite a very friendly waiter who tried his hardest to compensate for the lack in food and wine.

Provisioners is a restaurant located in the boutique hotel, The Dixon, serving quite a unique brunch menu which was what attracted us there.

The restaurant itself is beautiful and bright , a more contemporary take on the 60’s with its pastel colours and cushioned chairs. Lovely array of giant green potted plants surrounding the restaurant too.

Service was great throughout, very welcoming and friendly.

Sadly the expensive menu didn’t not match the mediocre food they were serving.

We started on whitebait which was a good start. They were deep fried and seasoned generously with this salt and peppery spice which made it so moreish. A nice creamy aioli dip to balance it out.

Sadly the spiced pistachio dukkah rosti Florentine was disappointing. The rosti had a thick hard crust that was chewy like it was on the pan too long and the dukkah spices were very mild. But like most things, anything with a nicely poached egg and a nice hollandaise sauce can be saved.

For mains I had the smoked haddock fishcake served with a poached egg and spinach. Although I really enjoyed this, nice soft flakey textures with a thin layer of crispy breadcrumb around it, it wasn’t worth £16.50 for the portion size and simplicity of the dish.

Black pudding and pork belly Indian roti was also very average. Roti wasn’t very malleable or buttery and it was only after we ate it we realised they had forgotten the black pudding. The pork itself was more like pulled pork, quite stringy and chewy. There was a nice coffee barbecue sauce to it and red onion jam, savoury and sweet with a slight bitter tone to it but the dish lacked texture to break away from the dense meat and the fried egg and rocket didn't do much to it.

We ended on french toast costing a whopping £16 but at least it was good. Lovely thick slices of eggy brioche with a generous jug of maple syrup for you to go crazy with finished nicely with fresh berries and mascarpone cream to lighten things up.

Food was delicious and service prompt but the place was lacking ambience. Maybe August is a quiet month for them but hope it picks up from September as can see the potential. Would definitely return to hopefully a more buzzy ambience.

It was so bad. The place was empty, no one around on a Friday evening. No one! It’s also worth mentioning that it’s a hotel restaurant, so sometimes you have the odd guest just crossing the empty restaurant to go to reception. The food is boring and tasteless. Prêt à manger has a nicer carotte soup, and that weird pasta salad for main isn’t better than the 2 for £3 salads at M&S... except here, it will cost you £30 for 2 of them. Nice furnitures though, but seriously, don’t go there.

We needed to go to the theatre at 19:30, so we asked for the pre-theatre menu when we arrived at this restaurant at 18:00. We were given complementary Bellini cocktails twice over, as the first lot had been mixed with grapefruit rather than orange juice. The waitress was very pleasant but service was slow, although there were few other customers. When three waiters finally arrived with our main courses, they reached over us to set the plates on the table. The food was over salted and the fish did not smell fresh. We were offered free desserts to make up for the inadequacies of the meal but we had to leave at 19:20, before this, or the dessert that we had ordered when we arrived, was served.

Loved our visit, perfect place before the Bridge Theater, Service was impeccable, food excellent, surroundings perfect. Just a little expensive, but who cares on a special occasion when everything else is perfect. Highly recommended.

Good food and ambiance. The portions are not huge so if you are looking for a big breakfast might want to go elsewhere as sides are also small and pricy

Initial staff greeting was unfriendly. Breakfast was overpriced for average to poor food. It feels like a hotel dining room. Given the location this could be great but it needs to take lessons locally from the Garrison and the Watch House and turn itself around fast. You only get one chance to make a good first impression.

No front of house greeting when I arrived for my reservation. Seemed surprised I was there! Place feels like a hotel lobby, not much atmosphere. One of the two beers on tap not available. Someone had to check how much for a simple gin and tonic. Food was OK but not good value. Especially the fries which are very steep for basic fast food fries! Finally, we asked for 2x truffle fries after they were recommended but in the end couldn't taste or smell any truffle. Ironically we we charged for 1 regular fries and one truffle fries! Won't be going back.

All of our dishes were amazing, very tasty - just enough that you’re satisfied but not too full. The four different cocktails that we tried were all super tasty as well. Would definitely go back & recommend to others

As a designer I was interested to visit in my Friday lunch break with my Father. It was wonderful. The design is really interesting and a member of staff to time to explain the design to me. The food was delicious and the portions are generous. It will be my new regular spot!

I was really disappointed with this experience. It's new in neighborhood and there is clearly very good intent behind it - a lot of thought went into the design. However the experience was ruined by a number of factors. First, the lighting was way too bright. I felt like we were lining up for the hotel breakfast buffet rather than trying to enjoy a Saturday night. Second, the service was pretty bad. Food took forever to come out, and when it did it was lukewarm and dried out as if it had sat under the heatlamps for a while. The restaurant was nearly empty, so there's simply no excuse for that. When we finished our starters, the empty plates sat on our table for a long time (the server also missed out one of our orders for a starter, but didn't come back over to check on us so we weren't able to re-order). We had to get up to refill our wine from the ice bucket and chase down a server to order a second bottle. When I asked to pay, I watched the two servers have a conversation with each other for 10 minutes, in full view. I really hope the team takes this feedback on board to make it into the neighborhood gem the owners no doubt intended.
