After making a reservation 3 months in advance, I have to say I was incredibly disappointed. The food itself lived up to the quality reputation. Everything else did not. The service was appalling. We sat there for 45 minutes before the first plate came, then another 30 for the second, and another 30 for the 3rd, which at that point we had to ask them to speed up the service. It's a 7 course tasting menu and we didn't leave full. They also won't let you make any substitutions, so we had one bite of the dessert because we don't like matcha and they'll only swap something out if it's an allergy. At this price point, they should be more accommodating to guests. It was one of my least favorite fine dining experiences of all time. I was expecting so much more and will not be recommending this to any of my foodie friends.

Absolutely lives up to the hype. We did the vegetarian (maiz) menu and did not regret it. Everything from beginning to end was perfect -- the food, service, and presentation. The ambiance was relaxing and calm, even on a Friday night. My favorite dish was the huitlacoche (corn fungus) and my favorite cocktail of the few we tried was the mezcal Negroni. Recommend for anyone who is curious about Pujol! A once in a lifetime experience.

Great Ambiance, Excellent Service.
Wine Pairings were spot on.
Cocktails were great.
Food differs on who you ask and what your pallet is accustomed to.
I had the 'Maze' Tasting Menu, which consisted of Scallops, Sea Bass and Octopus and it was not out of this world in flavour.
Presentation was great, as you would expect.
But my overall experience and taste would suggest that it was mediocre given the rating it was given by International Food Critics.
But again, every pallet and taste is different, this is just my humble opinion.

A return visit after three years. Great food, just not as ‘remarkable’ second time around. Add to that outrageous wine prices (so we didn’t indulge). We had a good time but will likely pass on a third visit next time we’re in Mexico City

Pujol was on my wife’s list of places to eat. So I booked us a table back in April for July for her birthday. Luckily they use open table unlike many other high end restaurants in the US. Pujol is in a great area polanco in Mexico City, there is plenty of sites and window shopping around.
When you walk up to pujol it looks like you’re walking into one of the many very nice homes in the area. The inside has a nice contemporary modern feel.
For dinner I ordered the seafood menu and she ordered the corn menu, which we shared. They don’t offer a wine/beverage pairing, but they do have an extensive wine list. I asked to speak to the sommelier and he helped me chose some great selections for each of my courses. I would highly suggest pairing the octopus course with the orange wine (skin contact). Each course we had was fantastic, pujol definitely lives up to the hype. Between the two tasting menus, 6 drinks, and tip our total bill was about $10,000 pesos/$670 US. If you’ve eaten at other Michelin quality restaurants then you know this is below average cost. I believe he’s under charging for the quality of food they are serving.

Skip this one. Take it from a foodie who's been to at least two dozen Michelin star restaurants around the world. The food is mediocre and pretentious. If this place was ever great, I'm afraid we either went on a bad night (so it is inconsistent at best) or it's riding on a long undeserved reputation.

The best meal I’ve ever had, bar none. Absolutely wonderful. I will never forget it. The meal is choreographed to perfection from ambiance, service, to cuisine. Of course it’s expensive, but I can’t stress enough the value of this unforgettable meal. It is easily worth it to cut out a few other things to get this masterpiece of gastronomy.

Definitely over hyped as being ranked #12 on 2019's world's best restaurants list. Perhaps having this sort of ranking has gone to the staff's egos as the service was not up to par for the price of the meal. After being seated upon arrival we were left at our table for almost 30 minutes while the table next to us (who appeared to know people at Pujol) were quickly served. Tasting menu was OK, nothing special.

Having booked several months in advance and even then, only being able to get a 9:45 p.m. seating, we looked forward with immense anticipation to dining at Pujol for the first time. The day before our reservation, someone from the restaurant phoned to confirm our reservation. Frankly, she could not have been more brusque (I politely asked if any earlier reservation had opened up and her response: "Absolutely not." And she hung up.) Anyway, we arrive. We were suprised by the ambiance... very modern, NYC kind of place and filled with loud Americans. You would not have known you were in Mexico. Some superlatives: the service was absolutely fabulous from start to finish. The food: some stunningly good moments, some pretentious moments, and some absolutely ordinary moments. The wine list: extensive, though lacking much of any presence from Chile or Argentina (strange), and was outrageously marked up (I'm not recalling any bottles for less than 1,100 pesos and those would not be worth half that price). At this point we had dined in many fine restaurants in Quertero, St Migel de Allende, Guanajuato, and Mexico City and had enjoyed splendid wines at remarkably fiar prices... not here. The mark up is obsence. SO, at the end of the day our verdict is: Yes, we are glad we went and would recommend you go (with deep pockets if you want want). But as far as we are concerned, Pujol is way over-hyped and we would not return. While it is rated the 12th greatest restaurant in the world. we have had dramatically finer meals at restaurants that were not on that list (The tasting menu at Bistro 100 Maneiras in Lisbon to name just one recent experience). There are many other spectacular options in Mexico City that are more honestly priced and with gifted kitchens.

Delicious food, great atmosphere and spotless service. But be ready to spend A LOT of money. The wine menu is overpriced. There is no wine (including Mexican) below 100 dollars. Around $100 you can only find a handful of not good options.

Pujol has been on my dream culinary eats list for quite a while. While traveling in CDMX I knew I had to visit. The phenomenal service begins as soon as you walk towards the restaurant. The moment you give your name the staff seamlessly escorts you to your table with no stumbling communication between the servers/ hosts. Every single course is delightfully explained to you, the cocktails are to die for, the ambiance is both comfortable but high end. You can tell the servers are there not only to serve a purpose but they all seem to thoroughly enjoy their jobs. I received a complimentary dish from the chef for being a solo traveler/ diner- one of the sweetest touches of the night. If you have the chance and are a culinary afeccionado you MUST try Pujol.

The food - amazing. The service - halfhearted. Our server was robotic. He neglected to send the sommelier when we asked, so our first course arrived without wine. Food descriptions were perfunctory instead of passionate. Napkins not reset when I left the table, crumbs not removed.
