Pulcinella restaurant serves authentic interpretations of Italian cuisine and wood-fired pizza in a historic building. This landmark Italian restaurant specializes in Neapolitan pizza, expertly prepared using ingredients sourced from Italy and baked in a wood-fired oven. Pulcinella also offers fresh salads, pasta dishes and a fine collection of wine to complement meals.
A neighborhood favorite, Pulcinella is an ideal choice for a nice intimate Italian meal. Guests get to dine in charming settings, featuring mural walls, crystal chandeliers and linen table cloths. Dishes are cooked to order, using fresh ingredients for the best flavor. This restaurant also offers private dining facilities that can be tailored towards private parties and special events. Pulcinella serves breakfast, lunch and dinner and is open Mondays through Sundays.
Wonderful neighborhood Italian restaurant. Been going here for years and look forward to many more. Food is great as are the people.
Great white pizza and
Farewell lunch for a colleague.
Our Waiter only put in two of three orders. There were three of us and he just dropped off two meals and disappeared. We found him more than 10-minutes later and asked about the third meal. He had to go order it. I split my dinner with my friend and 45 minutes later, when we were finished with our half meal, he brought the forgotten meal. We asked him to box it up as we were done.
Not once dis our waiter return to ask about drinks, ask how the meal was, and the guys bussing the table started reaching across and clearing plates while one friend was still eating!
The food was delicious and we did leave 20% tip because we are respectful. We hope the owners and managers help the wait staff and teach them the basics.
We had a party of 11 and had to eat quickly to make a show at wolftrap barns. Service was very quick and the food was excellent. Had a great dinner and made it to the concert with time to spare.
Always good, great family place, seems to be a local favorite. Food is fresh; portions are very generous!
Nice place, with great atmosphere and delicious food!
Pulcinella is my favorite family restaurant in Northern Virginia. The service is friendly and the food is fine. I have enjoyed pasta, meat and seafood entrees and the pizza is very good, too -- a favorite with the children of my friends and my own grandkids. Always a happy dining experience.
I had dinner with my wife. We have been there many times and always had excellent food and service. However, this time my meal was not only disappointing but was not good at all. I had the veal Parmesan. In the past. This was one of my favorites. This time it appeared to be a very thin frozen patty that was over cooked. In fact, I actually felt ill later. My wife’s meal was very good, clams linguine. It was Avery disappointing experience
I was not too happy about the fish I ordered. Ir was dry and the sides were not that great.
The waiter was nice and friendly.
Sadly we were disappointed all around. Pasta didn’t have a bite but the lamb special was the best thing we ate.
Great Sunday brunch! Staff was excellent. Can’t wait to go back for lunch and dinner.
Good attention to a large group we had
Have been going to Pulcinella for various lunches, dinners and even parties in the room downstairs, for many years. The food is always excellent, the staff very friendly and helpful, and everyone leaves happy. Location is great too - family and friends from all over the DC-VA-MD area so central to most of us. Would recommend this restaurant to everyone!
The server was abrupt and not very customer focused. The air conditioning was blowing directly on us, the food we fair not their best it was very loud.
Most off putting was the wait service was poor. No excuse for that!
The food lacked flavor. Among the items we ordered, we found that the Alfredo, tomato soup and garlic bread we pretty tasteless. The regular bread was fantastic and the appetizer of calamari & fried zucchini was okay. I will say that the service was very good.
Always a great stop in McLean...don't fill up on bread!!
Always delicious, always fantastic service.
The food is outstanding! In my opinion, it is the best Italian food in the area! The atmosphere is casual and the servers are comparable to what you would find in a five-star restaurant, very professional and accommodating. I look forward to eating at this restaurant again.
Food was very good and portion size was just right. Our server was very polite and was prompt.
Loved it and would recommend for dining, take-out, or for celebrations with large groups. They can accommodate everything!
Myself and three associates had lunch consisting of: veal parmigiana, chicken parmigiana, stuffed cannelloni and pasta and sausage. All four lunches were really good, with the parmigiana dishes being especially tasty. Very good meal, I’d recommend Pulcinella for lunch.
Pulchinella's never fails to please. Great family restaurant.
Wonderful waiter! The nicest we have ever had! Thank you Saleh
Nice fathers day brunch.
Inattentive and disinterested service from start to finish. Not sure why this place gets such reviews - you can get better Italian food in a food court in a mall. There was no flavor in any dish; every one in our party pretty much didn’t eat half their food. If only their waiters actually came and asked even once we would have told them - once served they pretty disappeared until I had to flag them out to get me our checks because we were done treated like second class people. Never going to this place again. When a restaurant is barely even full on a Friday night you know it’s bad sign.
Great authentic Italian! Loved Pizza, Spaghetti and green and white noodle dish over cream sauce! Awesome
Great family Italian dining. Good food and good prices.
Go to place, friendly and good service and food
No oj for mimosa, dirty dishes,no efficient replacement of food on buffet...bread delivered at the end of the meal. Food ice cold.......terrible experience
This has been my favorite place for quality Italian food for 25 years. I don't live in the area anymore, but any time I come home to visit, a stop at Pulcinella's is always a must. Can't recommend it enough!
This is the best Italian food outside of Little Italy in NYC. Went there 2x last week! The trout was outstanding a the eggplant Parmesan was perfect. If you go, make sure to
Try the fries Zucchini. Outstanding.
Nice, small restaurant with excellent pizza and pasta. Family friendly too!
Always a good, casual stop for good food and drink in McLean
Food was very good. We were late going to dinner which may explain the slowish service.
Pasta was carefully done- not too al dente nor overcooked, which is not always possible. I had veal ravioli with butter and sage, rich dish . Would recommend
Family friendly neighborhood institution. The service is always courteous and efficient, and the food is terrific traditional Italian fare. It’s our go-to place for big family dinners with all the grandkids, and it never disappoints.
Our waiter was very attentive and provided good service.
The food was a different story. It was a very disappointing meal. The Margherita pizza was more like a plain old cheese pizza with a basil leaf on top, the fried artichokes had too much breading which was served after the pizza was delivered, and the beef stroganoff left nothing to be desired. The one good thing was the bread.
The house made food was amazing! Server was great. We were greeted and when leaving asked how was everything. They genuinely care about you!
Good food good environment
Love Sunday breakfast/brunch! Broad menu freshly cooked. Fresh squeezed orange juice, coffee n toast
While u wait for your food. Competitively priced.
