Great service, good tasty food and a convenient location close to the Globe theatre made Pulia an excellent choice for a quick pretheatre dinner. I will definitely go again and not just because they do a very decent Aperol Sprtiz! I look forward to trying more from the menu.
I’d describe this restaurant as a hidden gem very close to the bustling Borough Market. The restaurant was well decorated and there were even a few tables outside for al fresco dining in the summer months.
The service here was excellent. The waiters were both friendly and attentive in the perfect measures.
The pasta was very tasty and there was a varied menu.
I would definitely come here again!
Disappointing meal. Went with group of girlfriends after work and although the servers were pleasant to start with we were disappointed no effort was made to apologise for the problems. I was served a Gin and water not tonic to start the evening off on a bad foot. Then we got the wrong sharing starters and the pastas we all chose for mains were very disappointing. Tasted more like noodles and the tomato based ones were oily and not pleasant. Those seafood ones has limited prawns and clams etc in. Very small portions for cost £13 average pasta meal! No ice creams for dessert and only 1 tiramisu at which point we politely complained and were given some slightly rude remarks about all being fresh from Italy etc so what do we expect itruns out . No apologises or money off.
Food very over priced and quite frankly not that nice to eat. Would not recommend or go again.
Terrible service - sat outside as it was a hot day - but beset by office workers sitting on steps smoking. 4 times I had to go inside and find a waiter!
Fabulous meal with friends. Staff very helpful, friendly and attentive.
Staff didn’t seem to know what they were doing. They kept forgetting orders and had no spacial awareness and kept knocking into our table or even our heads! Very disappointed.
Cool and calm restaurant on a busy and hot Saturday afternoon. Booked for a surprise party for my husband's birthday, and a lovely afternoon was enjoyed by all the family, young and old. The food was an interesting twist on the usual Italian fair you get elsewhere, and good value.
Horrendous service. Didn’t deliver all of our food. Overcharged for dishes we didn’t order. Asked us to move tables after sitting down. Food was mediocre at best.
There was some confusion as we were told that the starters on the set menu had been changed just after we had ordered but this was the only minor point in an otherwise perfect evening. The food was delicious and beautifully presented. The steaks were cooked to perfection and the risotto was excellent. The desserts were outstanding. The staff is friendly and there seemed to be many repeat customers who were welcomed with open arms.
Great service, food was amazing and the location is ideal.
A real disappointment. Service was slow and inattentive, even though the place was empty. Food was average to poor and had bit of plastic in my pasta. The Burrata was the only good thing.
Had an incredible evening at Pulia as a group of 6. The food was outstanding - delicious Burrata, perfectly cooked pasta with tasty sauces, generous servings and delicious desserts! The servers were all friendly and attentive - one providing excellent photographic services and input to make sure our group pics captured a great night out - so 6 stars go to him for his value-add talents! One of the servers seemed to be newer and possibly a little nervous and hurried which is why I couldn't give a 5 star for the service but I'm sure he will soon be on the same level as all the others. Overall great food at good prices with good service. We had a fantastic night out and will definitely be back again.
The service was excellent but found portions small for sharing
If you like authentic Italian food, different from common Italian chains, Pulia is the right place for you. I enjoyed the negroamaro red wine, pasta octopus cooked al dente very tasty, amazing burrata cheese. Lovely atmosphere, friendly and attentive service.
Outstanding Italian hospitality and food ;) Enjoyed our dinner here.
It was a bit confusing for the uber driver the exact location as uber has weird maps sometimes, but we found the restaurant just around the corner, only few steps away from where the driver left us,in front of Le pain quotidian. In this restaurant seems like people are really enjoying themselves, noticing groups of friends laughing drinking wine and sharing various plates of food that looked delicious. So we ordered like the rest of people around us,seeing great food plates flying around us.I was impressed with the selection of the food in the menu, all the favourite Italian dishes in one menu. The focaccia and cheeses are a dream so are the pastas, my favourite plate was pastas with artichoke ,don’t remember the name. Btw all the ingredients come from Italy,Pulia exactly ,even the tomatoes :) Very impressive the quality of the food, great to discover that not only mayfair restaurants provide such quality . I highly recommend this friendly atmosphere restaurant with a touch of Italian design. I will definitely come back 👌🏻
I ate what was arguably the best Burrata in London !!
Italian waiters roaming around make sure to guide you through the menu, with often passionate personal stories of their own food experiences. They have decent wines from the south of Italy.
Their pasta dishes are the definition of "Al Dente"... I make my own fresh pasta at home, but I simply cannot compete with the texture of their pasta!!
To top it off, we tried a Pulia-misu (a twist away from a tiramisu), perfect match between ricotta, biscotti and an expresso shot!
Food and wine was mediocre but staff were friendly.
Delicious authentic southern Italian dishes and a unique atmosphere, we felt we were in Puglia. Burrata with ham, al dente fresh pasta with clams and meatballs are a must so is their take on the traditional tiramisu. Good selection of local grapes and wines too. Service polite and efficient. Highly recommended!
The food was very tasty , the service was very friendly, nice, available for our request, give us the time to decide our meal, to eat and have a chat without feeling any rush..
The restaurant was recommended on trip advisor, but unfortunately it was quite bad.
The food was not very tasty and pasta was abit tough and chewy
The first waiter and possibly manager was abit rude and unfriendly, but fortunately the first waiter finished and was replaced by a friendly one.
Unfortunately, not recommended.
Saturday night - 1st sevice and no prawns. Mains served in a massively chipped bowl - pasta more than al dente. Service exceptionally slow. Dessert ordered : ice cream. Totally different one bought - cake!
All in all rather a poor experience and not one I’ll be advising others to test out!
While the food was OK and the service fine, the restaurant was nearly empty and rather soulless. It was also expensive for essentially a pasta restaurant.
A very pleasant restaurant but the portions were on the small side.
Lovely restaurant setting, but food was disappointing. We had 2 of the octopus specials and it came out charred and over cooked, therefore was mostly not edible. It seemed that they were understaffed as the service was quite sporadic and I got the impression our food had been sitting around for a while before being served. Real shame as is a lovely looking menu and restaurant interior.
Good basic Italian food, nice atmoshphere and good service. Value for money considering the location and a cut above the nearby 'chain'restauramts. The wine selection was well priced too.
We have found this little island of Italy by chance and were nicely surprised. Pasta was very tasty! Portions not as generous as we would wish, but quality superb.
Great pasta, their appreciation for ingredients shines in their dishes!
Pulia has been a wonderful surprise !
Me and my family have had the Easter lunch there. A bit risky choice considering
My in laws are from Apulia..:) italian done authentically, quality ingredients, nice atmosphere, beautiful decor and the friendly manager Carmelo :).We will definitely return!
We had a lovely dinner with my family there, a nice and quiet place with great service. The food was really good, and the pasta were perfectly al dente!
Me and a friend went here for dinner. We didn't know the place, I had a look online for restaurants around the area and I found Pulia. Good food and great service, thank you to Giuseppe who assisted us.
We had a very delicious dinner, al the dishes cooked properly light and delicate. The service was awesome with great attention to the details.
The environment is nice and welcoming, if you want try a proper southern Italy cuisine this is the perfect place.
I really enjoyed my lunch at Pulia. Food was excellent, desserts in particular, and staff very kind! It was also very relaxed and quiet. Excellent!
Excellent customer service. Complimentary Prosecco as table was slightly delayed.
Great traditional Italian pasta.. al dente 👌
Fantastic authentic Pugliese food. Wait staff were informed, friendly and helpful, especially Carmelo. Graze!
A proper Italian place, we had a wonderful time for dinner and the food is just amazing. We will be coming back!
I can only assume the bulk of their trade is non repeat tourists. The service was completely impersonal and blunt and the process hampered by awkwardly adding our order into a tablet. Lighting is bright and tables crammed together to get the maximum covers so expect to share your conversation with the neighbouring tables.
Food was ok so if passing and you’re in the mood for a pasta lunch then pop in but avoid it for dinner, this is London and there is far better a short walk away.
The location is good just pass the busy market and close to the Thames walk at the clink.
It is informal and bright with large windows and sit up window tables together with normal seating. Reasonable menu with good choice and reasonably priced . The only down side is only one toilet, so late evening on a busy night might be a problem . Buzzy
Food was very good, but I didn't like the Puliamisù.
Interior decor is lovely. Food is well prepared.
