Our most recent dinner at Punjab Grill easily ranks as one of the most memorable dining experiences for me and my dining companion! First and foremost, the food was superb throughout, and we could feel the absolute passion by Executive Chef Jassi Bindra permeating into each and every course. By the conclusion of our meal, our fairly high expectations were totally blown away, all of the senses engaged through a harmonious progression of optimally-portioned, masterfully-executed dishes (Chilean Sea Bass with Jaggery-Cumin Glaze, Gol Explosion+Liquid Samosa, "Paint Your Bhutta," and Asparagus Bonda our being favorites) pushing the bounds for one of our trinity of favorite cuisines!! Much appreciation to Chef Jassi, General Manager Hamid, our server Soji, and the entire Punjab Grill team for the truly magical dining experience and warm hospitality!!! We can't wait to return!!!
This restaurant goes above and beyond in service and quality of food. The flavors are outstanding and innovative. It’s not your typical Butter Chicken restaurant. The Rarha Lamb is my favorite dish but all others are outstanding as well.
Oh my goodness, where do I start...... so it was our special anniversary and we went to Punjab grill to celebrate it..... good was out of the world. We ordered tasting menu and chef Jessie took the initiative to explain what appetizers were and from what part of India they were inspired. First was Pani poori and samosa it was nothing traditional but tasted just like India. So delicious and so flavorful. Second on the menu was compressed watermelon with rasam and oysters they were cold and so refreshing and off course delicious. Third was pintb your bhutta(corn on the cob). You need to experience it to enjoy it. Everything on that corn was delish and reminded both of us of our home. Fourth was amritsari chicken and bonda: these were so delish that I can’t even explain.... I still have the taste in my soul. They were like heaven. If you go please order these 2 things for sure. Fifth was very berry yoghurt. Chef Jessie did his show and we had a frozen yoghurt or lassi with berries. It was delicious and refreshing. And then it was entree and to be honest entree were not so heavy yet so flavorful. We got palak paneer and machi. The sauces were divine. And lastly it was mango kulfi with everything mango. I used to have tangy mango roll up when I was a kid and it reminded me of that so delicious and yum. If you ever plan to visit dc or planning to something special for your loved one please take them here. My husband loved every single thing in it. I would recommend it to everyone...... please visit Punjab grill dc and chef Jessie is really awesome
Beautiful restaurant. Staff was incredibly friendly and attentive! The food and drinks were delicious! Perfect for date night or business dinner.
Punjab Grill was simply amazing! We chose to experience the Chef's tasting menu and we were not disappointed. One incredibly beautiful and delicious dish after another. Our waiter, Boyan, was thoughtful and courteous, our cocktails were wonderful, the chef was professional and informative, all staff were helpful and friendly. The interior is beautiful as well. We highly recommend!
We had one of the most memorable dinners ever! We’ve dined all over the world, but this culinary experience was one to remember. The ambiance, the drinks, the wine and the 7 course tasting menu were exquisite. The burst of flavors in each meal and the chef accompanying each course and explaining the flavors were “icing on the cake”
I had been following Punjab Grill on social media since they opened and I am glad we finally had the opportunity to taste the amazing flavors.
Amazing experience! We will be back.
Outstanding restaurant in every way. Creative cooking with intricate flavors. Terrific service in a beautifully designed space.
What a fantastic experience! Great food, great service.
Elevated Indian food. Everything we had was delicious. Would definitely come back. A worthy rival to Rasika.
Not quite Covid friendly
You never seized to amaze me. Food was incredible and I especially loved the burrito with eggplant. Out of this world. Thank you for making the day special for my BFF in times of COVID. You guys and your team are the best.
Great food, excellent service. One of my favorite restaurants in DC.
Please support your local restaurants that have opened back up. Wonderful service and food last night, owner was very attentive and talking to customers
Exceptional food, wonderful staff and ambience. We will be back!!!
Phenomenal service! I have lived in DC for 7 years and this was the best service I ever received. The owner introduced himself and was available. The chef also came to our table. The staff was attentive and helpful. The food was delicious, unique, and really beautiful. Overall, a truly wonderful dining experience! No wonder they are on the Michelin shortlist. Would highly recommend!!
The food and service were amazing - khumb galouti, malai broccoli, goat biryani, chicken curry, goat cheese kulcha and kathal kofta were all exceptional - the lemon naan was an unexpected tasty treat! Oh and the desserts - chocolate cake and the paneer cheesecake - I am still dreaming about them! But most of all, the coronavirus prep was unmatched - a person at the front door so guests didn't have to touch the door handle, a person wiping the restroom door handle after each use, our table was sanitized after every course, and all waiters were wearing gloves - it was very reassuring.
Great service, food was exceptional all the way through dessert. Would definitely recommend.
Amazing dinner experience! Food and service...the best!
Amazing flavors, perfect service.
simply wonderful dining experience in the District
Really enjoyed the service . Food was definitely good , would like tot eat more things before I give a full review . The drinks were good. The owner makes an effort to check on all tables which show true service .
I don’t ever do reviews for restaurants, but our experience at this one was exceptional. The service, the decor, the cocktails, and the food were all fantastic! We will be back!
highly recommend. some of the best and creative indian food we have had.
Exquisite food & presentation. Very knowledgeable & attentive server who turned out to be the pastry chef. Both desserts our 4-some sampled were both beautiful & tasty.
Great food, decor, and service. I only wish you have seating for two in a more intimate part of the restaurant other than the one side that feels like a passage between service station and tables.
I have been to Punjab Grill like 8-10 times now with different people every time. All the guests that I have brought with me have loved the ambiance, the food, the atmosphere, the service. It is probably the BEST Indian Restaurant in DC today. I always request Makhail (sp?) to be my server. Her service is AMAZING. Go here, you will not regret it. Its a perfect place for special occasions, such as birthdays, anniversaries...etc.
Everything we ordered was from great to fantastic, even old standbys like chicken tikka sampler. Inventive drinks, perfectly spiced sides & entrees, and a delectable ensemble of desserts combined with friendly and attentive service made for a memorable evening.
Fabulous food, beautiful decor. Flawless. Loved it and will go again!
I went to a luncheon and everything was simply fabulous. I can’t wait to go again!!
