Head chef Darren Broom's passion lies in producing food with an unmistakable sense of terroir. For Darren, provenance is not just the backstory to his ingredients, it’s everywhere in the look, feel and taste of his food.

We are keen to champion our own produce first and foremost, providing guests with a unique and ever-changing insight into the seasons. We work closely with the garden team to manage and maintain the garden and to deliver a programme of regeneration and sustainability.

Had a lovely lunch outside under the marquee. The baked cheesecake with grilled rhubarb was particularly great! Would highly recommend the venue to anyone... hidden away but a great place to visit.

This was our second visit and it was lovely to see the outdoor dining up and running ( last visit was November 2021). Welcome and service friendly and informative regarding how it all works menu wise. Food was excellent again. A very pleasant lunch with the sun shining.

This is our third visit despite being an hour and a half away and we rebooked straight away. We love the food, ethos and ambiance, not to mention we can bring the dog. As ever the food was superb with wonderful seasonal choices and always Pump Street chocolate in a dessert. Can’t wait to return. Thank you.

Without exaggeration this is quite possibly one of the best places (perhaps THE best) I have ever eaten. Beautiful surroundings, matched only by the food and the staff are completely delightful. £35 a head?? Are you kidding?? If you look up ‘exceptional value for money’ in the dictionary, you will find a picture of this place. Thank you Will and team for a memorable afternoon. We will be back!!

Staff seemed busy and disinterested, food was not up to normal standard, vegetables disappointing. Have eaten here several times and recommended to friends. Its a long way to drive if the food is not up to standard.

The food was utterly delicious. The set menu is great value for money. The vegetables are a meal in themselves and so much more than a ‘side’ - all from the garden and inspirationallly cooked and presented. I had the venison which was cooked to perfection. It was about £50/head with wine and coffees. Well worth it. One of the best places to eat in the area.
