Unfortunately we were informed upon arrival that they’d run out of quite a lot of items on the menu, including the pulled pork which meant only about half of the menu was available.
Excellent birthday lunch. Best burger I have ever had said my 16 year old!
Went for Sunday lunch and it was really nice... but could of done with a few more potato’s and a bit of cauliflower cheese for the price.
What a great find! We visited on a Saturday evening and sat down to eat at about 8.00pm. Fortunately we had booked a table earlier in the day as the place was very busy. The food, service and atmosphere can't be faulted. I enjoyed the open kitchen, it was great to see the guys at work. Really good value, my wife and I will certainly visit again when we are next in the City.
Amazing food, well worth the price you pay.
Would highely recommend!
We went for brunch, I had the Huevos Rancheros and it was as good as I have had anywhere in California. Boiling hot, spicy, perfect - washed down with an extra spicy and very good Bloody Mary. The diner is a great spot and I could've chilled there for hours. Highly recommended.
Very on trend, great food (po boy) and a diverse crowd.
Great food, tacos were very good.... worth a visit for casual food, def recommend.
Very disappointing meal - chicken was quite pink and a tiny smear of guacamole when it was advertised as containing avocado.
Only one waiter - not busy - but he kept forgetting our table. Forgot to bring menus, then forgot to come back to take order, convinced us to stay for dessert and then forgot to bring menus back and started sweeping the floor for a good 10 mins.
Overpriced and mediocre. Looks nice - good decor, but I wouldn't go back.
Such a lovely welcome from the staff for us and our children. After busy day of site seeing and museums we certainly needed to refuel and relax. Quay Street Diner has such a lovely atmosphere and is located very conveniently in the city centre. Food was yummy, plenty of choice, service was prompt, efficient and so friendly and the blueberry mojito fabulous (highly recommended)! We will be back.
Booked for New Year’s Eve. Got a call in the afternoon of New Year’s Eve to say they weren’t open for when I was booked! Despite being asked to confirm I would still be turning up a few days before.
Don’t know where the fault lay, but very late notice that they wouldn’t be open. Luckily, I managed to get a table at another restaurant.
So poor score is not a reflection on the quality of the restaurant, I never got to try.
The fact I’ve been asked to review, shows Opentable/The Quay still aren’t joined up.
Service was a bit slow but the food was very tasty and everyone was satisfied.
Good portions of tasty and filling food that tastes fresh. I really liked the music and lighting in the restaurant too and the service was attentive and friendly
Shame as it could have been so good. 3 of the starters I wanted were not available and neither was my 1st choice main. Drinks took ages to come as did the food which was well over an hour. Also my 4th choice starter never arrived, and when I asked the waitress was it coming with the mains she had just given us, she checked with the cook who replied that he thought we had already had our starter!? Main door to outside was also left open by smokers for a long time and the restaurant was freezing until my wife went to shut it...none of the staff seemed bothered.
Lovely food. Nice atmosphere. Ethically sourced food.
Well executed fare - good cocktails too
Went here on a Saturday night. Attentive staff, interesting menu, lovely cocktails. Just a bit different which is what we were looking for. Will go again, maybe take our kids sometime too.
Great all round
We had an early dinner, so it was not into full Sat night swing when we got there, but it was starting to get much more lively by the time we left. The food was very tasty, and the service was excellent. The Happy Hour cocktails were a nice surprise!
Little bit disappointing. Service was terrrible, really slow and we had to ask for everything - a drink, to order our food, get the bill etc. Food was pretty good but I think we suffered as there was a large group booking that night.
food was so slow. and when it came it was quality very poor indeed. very disappointing. the meals we ordered were not hard to prepare, a bit of chicken to carve up and wraps to heat and it took so long, when it arrived chicken really dry and rubbish too.
Great location, staff are friendly and attentive, food was also really good. Good selection of American beers on tap to fit with the theme. Only criticism would be a lacking of interesting vegetarian options
Love this place, great atmosphere and the food is always fantastic
Really lively and fun place with good food and great service - good beer selection too.
Great food and service! Nice convenient location close to the centre. I booked a booth for a birthday party and we decorated the booth ready as a surprise and the staff were helpful with that.
We had a great meal at Quay Street Diner, the staff were all wonderfully friendly and helpful, the atmosphere was fun and relaxed and the food was delicious. Highly recommend it.
Second time I have been here and once again the food was fab. The restaurant was very quiet when we got there which was not a bad thing it still had a good atmosphere. Service was friendly and efficient. Will definitely be coming back
Nice place, good value and decent food. A very nice evening.
Loved it, Will frequent and tell all my friends. Steak was lovely as were the starters. There's good choices for the vegetarian too (we had one with us) There's some great sneaky digestives and cocktails on offer to. Ask the staff they'll have something you'll like.
Service was friendly and prompt to start with drinks order was taken quickly but not all drinks delivered at the same time. Also took ages for our plates to be cleared, the waiters all but disappeared when we wanted to see the menu again for dessert and because it was so slow in coming we decided not to order any.
It was busy and they started out so well. A shame really but I will go back as food was good and prices reasonable. I’m sure the service will pick up and it’s only really a small grumble not a complaint
Visited Quay St Diner on Friday night, both of us ordered the ‘Vegan Del Ray Cheeseburger’ which was delicious! Cocktails were tasty and well balanced, and pudding was delicious. Would recommend for vegans, veggies and meat-eaters! Something on the menu to please all palettes.
Great tasting, locally sourced street food. Children were welcomed and the staff were friendly. Steak was amazing, as was the children’s burgers. Nice rum cocktails and prosecco was good quality (and nicely chilled).
Food was ok. The service was terrible evetough not busy.
Decided to try it as looked good when walking past and opening discount offers.
Staff friendly. Starter/small plate of prawns was truly delicious, and had great hopes for the rest of our meal. however the "brusccheta of the day"was just chopped tomatoes with a really tiny bit of pesto. Waited way too long for starters to be cleared and Mains to appear, obviously forgotten or mix up as when we prompted waitress was asked if we would like to order mains! Burger just average, steak with pepper sauce - both disappointing. Beers different types were good.
Very weird corridor to wonky toilets! Would go back for the prawns and a beer but otherwise sadly disappointing, teething troubles?
Great new cafe in a cool location. I see a bright future for this place.
I thoroughly enjoyed my meal at Quay Street Dinner, the staff were friendly and the restaurant was cosy. They have plenty of gluten free options including gluten free tacos and chips! They have a small menu but everything is extremely tasty and there are a couple of vegan/veggie options too.
Lovely space, lovely service, great food - the vegan burger would completely fool even a dedicated meat eater.
The quality of the food was great but the problem is that the portions were extremely small. Just fit for a child. I saw people ordering more dishes after finishing the ones they ordered at first because they were still hungry.
Food variable, the grass feed ribeye steaks (£19 each) although cooked as ordered were not the promised 10oz. My steak had a lot of grizzle and was chewy, where as my partners was lean and tasty. The only green side dish was a courgette with salsa verde which is not a leafy salad or veggies, I had to buy another full maincourse - Caesar salad (£11). The waitress tried hard and was rewarded with a generous tip, overall an interesting early evening meal.
Delicious food, great value and awesome vibes! Will be back.
