The service was amazing!
Everyone was very happy with their food and despite being very busy the standard of service was high with just the right amount of attentiveness. The final bill was helpfully split without us having to specifically ask for this. The only minor criticism was that the monkfish special was rather swamped in its accompanying sauce.
There was a lively feel about Quod and it was quite noisey - we were placed in between two large, noisey tables which made conversation challenging. The waitress was kind and helpful. We ordered sandwiches to go round 5 people - the portion size was tiny and they cost almost £24. They were fresh and tasty though. The tea was lovely, but a pot of hot water as standard would have been appreciated. Lovely scone, and lovely crab.
We had a family celebratory meal after our daughter’s graduation and it was just perfect for the occasion!
absolutely brilliant, can't fault a thing! food was delicious and service was brilliant, and the atmosphere was perfect.
The atmosphere was amazing. The food outstanding and the views lovely. Great service. We felt really welcomed and really comfortable. My graduation dinner was more than perfect. Thank you.
The food is good.
As a bar, the champagne, white wine & red wine varieties are relatively limited
We brought our own wine, and requested for two decanters to decant the wines. The bar provided two decanters, however, No identification of which one is which. Just by memory.
The table is too small for 4 of us w the dishes and drinks all together.
The food was fine, but we had to wait far too long for our main course which rather spoilt the experience
Very good service and food. We were 40 minutes early but that was not a problem and we were able to have our allocated table straight away.
Excellent food and ambiance! Great service as well!
Graduation celebration. Great experience
Very noisy. Waited 35 mins for our main course plates to be cleared away. Decided not to bother with pudding and went elsewhere
The table service was excellent, the starters / main and special menu were also excellent , only slightly let down by the desserts, a very enjoyable experience.
We had to ask the waiter three times for our drinks and when they did arrive they were not correct. Bread, which we requested (and is chargeable) did not arrive until main course. Rib eye steak and chips of mediocre quality and not consistent with what I know this restaurant and Jeremy Mogford to be associated with. Perhaps a temporary blip but a very disappointing experience. Manager was kind enough to adjust our bill following my complaint on the day.
Usual bustling atmosphere
Good food and drink
Very busy place but all standards held and food tasty
Busy but staff cope well. Bit too crowded at times
Very noisy when we went (Saturday afternoon). Menu was fine but no more and the children’s option was basically fried food, pizza or sausages- surely Quod can do better.
I always object to automatically adding service to the bill, especially for a party of three and with no obvious statement of whether the money goes directly to staff (and, no, I’m not prepared to ask).
That said it’s still a good place to go in the centre of Oxford but I’m not inspired hence the modest score here.
Very busy on a Saturday lunchtime and therefore a bit noisy. Food was good and the service was excellent with attentive staff despite being so busy. A enjoyable lunch.
Fantastic atmosphere and ambiance from the moment we walked in.
The staff are lovely, friendly, charming and nothing is to much trouble. I felt that they cared about giving us a great service. And they did. Someone was always available to help.
The food was great. Hot, well made and tasted wonderful. The service was quick and i can’t remember the last time I enjoyed a meal as much as I did.
Excellent for a working lunch: very good food, attentive service but not intrusive, great location.
Outstanding menu for all three courses. Chicken masala and duck breast were beautifully cooked for the main course, and the sauces and accompaniments were interesting and complementary. The service was prompt and attentive without being intrusive. All in all one of the best dining experiences I've had recently. Strongly recommended.
Superb place for lunch - great service, food and ambience.
The food is fresh and seasonal - with plenty of choice for vegetarians too. Imaginative and appealing menu. Service is first class.
Dinner with my lovely son
We had Sunday lunch there last weekend. I had the roast lamb which unfortunately I had to return as it was mostly fat , but the manager replaced it immediately with a generous portion of hand picked pieces of leaner meat, which was tender and delicious.
My husband has the roast beef, which by all accounts was very nice and my coeliac son had a risotto which was very good.
Desserts were very good- and the generous scoop of ice cream - an inexpensive alternative.
We sat in the courtyard which was very pleasant given such beautiful weather.
Lovely food and atmosphere. Perfect place for our anniversary.
The restaurant couldnt find my booking...I had to show it to them on my phone....not a good start.
VERY noisy, my husband couldnt hear me..& very busy. Different to a werkday when I’ve been before!
Waitress lovely, & food good.
Had a lovely lunch sitting in the garden area at the back...lovely sound of water and in the distance you could see a church tower and spires. Fabulous food, friendly and helpful waiters. Thoroughly recommend
The first courses were fine, my cod was superb, my friend’s roulade too salty, she only managed to eat half.
We got a table at the back of the restaurant, away from the noise of the front, thanks!
We were surprised when the bill came as we expected to have the 2 course set lunch and we were charged a la carte. We were told by the waitress that we h@d ordered from the a la carte menu, and the set lunch was the smaller one which had been to the side. I must say I h@ve no recollection of a smaller menu. Anyway, we did not w@nt to make a fuss, so we paid the a la carte prices although we were Not happy about it.
Excellent food and service. A bit noisy but it was a busy lunch-time. My only quibble was that dogs were allowed in the bar next to the dining area; dogs, other than service dogs, and food are not a good combination.
I love Quod. The set lunch menus are always interesting and varied, and well priced, with just the right portion size for that time of day.
A very enjoyable evening.Excellent menu and service.
Very nice evening but they do need to change the menu, especially the Mains where I inevitably choose the Fish Cakes.
I've been to the Quod many times so I know the restaurant well.We had an outside table whose situation wasn't fantastic but overall it was a good experience and the waiters were excellent and attentive
Great food, service and atmosphere. The restaurant isn’t the quietest but that wasn’t a problem for us. Really good value for superb food.
Food was excellent. We requested a quiet table and they were able to accommodate us. All good.
I greatly enjoyed my Sunday dinner at Quod. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was elegant. The one drawback was the piano was quite loud and it was difficult to hear what was being said even across the table.
Quite noisy and table a little bit small /squashed but very friendly and prompt service. Food delicious, fresh tasting wholesome food done well.
