Rail House Café
Fathers day brunch was very good.
Nice ambiance and decor, good brunch menu - lots of choice, very good service
Despite being a new building they've done their best to give this place a bit of character
The atmosphere cosy and nice and the service was good. We needed some information about the food - ingredients and level of spice.
Food was so salty - almost unable to eat it. Food was very overpriced - starter, main and cocktail was £45 a head. Service was also a little off and too attentive to start with but then waited ages to pay the bill. Wouldn’t recommend.
Great food & location, wonderful champagne cocktail to start, would definitely come back
A great find for a prectheatre lunch. Lively, fantastic service, interesting menu and good value. We had a really nice lunch.
We had such a lovely time here for my mum's 60th birthday. The service was exceptional, and our waitress was so helpful. There were two vegan items that weren't available, yet our waitress was so helpful and asked the chef if one of the veggie options could be made vegan for me which it could. We all really enjoyed our food, and could not fault a thing. Would definitely recommend.
I have previously had really good experience of RHC, but I feel like they are getting a bit lazy as they get more popular. One side of my pancakes were completely black burnt and no apology was made for this or attempt to rectify it when pointed out. Given that it’s quite pricy in there I’d at least like pancakes which aren’t burnt! Also feels quite rushed. We had our food within 10mins of sitting down, not really great for a long relaxing brunch! Otherwise the decor is really nice and the hand cream smells so good. My boyfriends avocado toast was apparently delicious too so not all bad!
Kegeree : The mango chutney all over the top of the dish prevented this from being an excellent plate.
Option to have on the side would be better.
RHC was a lively place with a good atmosphere. Unfortunately the food let it down. On the menu the dishes sounded far better than they actually were and the price point would lead you to expect.
Had a business breakfast, only small drag was that their coffee cups could be a bit larger
All very average. Menu reads as great, food is OK
A convenient place to meet and eat before the theatre - a pleasant experience all round
Lovely food - attentive service - delish cocktails only minus had run out of one of the dishes otherwise a superb meal and would definitely return!
Best pancakes Iv had in London! The service was great as well. We will definitely go back!
Birthday lunch for two. It was a Tuesday after a bank holiday so not too busy. We were sated next to the window on a table for 4 and next to a large group booking but this was fine. We had main courses and deserts and 2 glasses of champagne each. The food was very nice and we had no complaints. The service was attentive. Nice fit out, design and atmosphere.
Great food, great prices, great staff!
Lovely, attentive staff. We enjoyed the food and drinks. I found the seating uncomfortable. Spinning chairs seem unsuitable for eating. The table could have been improved by revolving it through 90 degrees.
There was a bar exactly where you would want to put your feet. It was easy to bang shins against it and you had to choose to carefully place your feet over or behind it.
Staff were efficient and friendly and the restaurant had a nice buzz about it with many people heading there for after-work drinks and a bite to eat. Food was good although slightly overpriced for what it was but still a good experience overall.
Lovely food and ideal for pre theatre meal - just give yourself a little time as service was a little slow.
Enjoyed our evening but it’s a busy place and quite noisy as a result with tables quite close together. Service was attentive. Food was good - we shared a starter which was delicious and our main courses were nicely cooked but a bit bland. Decent value for money and would go again.
The Chardonnay was off. The noise level was high. The food was good.
At each of my 4 visits to the RHC the Staff have been outstandingly lovely and the service exceptional. Although the booking was for an hour and a half and we over stayed our booking, we didn't get rushed out or feel pressure to leave. Venue is fun and vibey. A non smoking outdoor area would be much appreciated!
Great food (selection and quality), great venue, will definitely be back
It was ok .. just ok !
other reviews were raving so really thought I should try it ..
Fairly average food at fairly expensive prices!
We ended not paying the service charge and they weren't even surprised.
We had to send one thing back, and should have sent another two. Overall, it was a nice evening but I won't be hurrying back.
Really convenient for Hamilton pre food. A wide range on the menu. Food well presented and tasty. Good service.
Took a vegan friend there as the options on the main menu are very diverse, and it's a great mix if you're in a group of people with different tastes covering everything from ceviche to sandwiches and burgers. They also have great value, really lovely wines.
One small thing that would make a positive change, the deserts were all dairy based - there was no vegan option and no option for me as someone who is intolerant of lactose, which was a shame as we were keen to have one. Great place over all!
Overpriced completely for average food ! Drinks also expensive and starters and desserts quite lazy ! Really wasn’t good and to be charged service on top for 2 people not great ! A vodka and tonic £10 , burger with chips and service £20. I gues it explains why on a Friday it was empty
Good food, healthy options, well presented. Speedy and helpful service
Ersatz boho vibe in London's most soulless development in one of its most soulless areas, but the food was good. If you need to eat in Victoria and dont fancy a burger this is a good option. But better would be to not eat in Victoria.
It was fine ! Nice food and I'm sure the ambience is different in the evening. We went for breakfast.
Service was incredibly slow unfortunately which had a knock on effect to most things, which included having to chase for my side to go with my breakfast.
This was my third time at Rail House Cafe. Food is good - selection and quality. Noise levels are high especially if you are at a smaller table for 2 near the kitchen, as we were. I asked to be moved on grounds of noise (bellowing orders behind us) and apparently there was only one alternative table. This was tucked away so quieter - I wondered whether service might be compromised if we were less visible - and also low so less comfortable. Not ideal on either count. Service was good though and polite including when requesting the table move. Given the noise levels, I would think twice about booking again unless in a larger party when we might be able to hold our own. We are not in any way hard of hearing. We’re in our early 60’s and enjoy normal level conversation rather than having to compete with high decibel music or adjacent table or kitchen noise. Please do something about this.
Very reliable spot in Victoria. Good food and good service.
This is a really buzzing type of place so a bit difficult for conversations but the warm welcome, attentive service and delicious tasting food made up for all this. Highly recommend it , and a big thank you.
Tables far too close together!
Delicious food, friendly service, nice decor. Great place for a catch up.
The atmosphere was very buzzy and there was a lot going on which I personally really enjoy at a restaurant. The food was good, really fresh and the portion sizes were quite generous
Overall we had a really nice time and will be returning. (the service was also brilliant!)
Great pre-theatre dinner for five! Food interesting, delicious and good value. Service attentive and friendly. Fabulously cool decor!
Absolutely terrible service. Booked weeks in advance and called three times to confirm we needed a table with a high chair for a young baby, yet we were given a high bar table and a small high chair so the baby was sat under the table. Host could give offer no alternative table and we barely received an apology. Would not recommend for a brunch with family or young people.
Also had to wait 15/20 mins to be seated, despite having a reservation and almost an hour to just get our drinks.
