If you are looking for a quick bite to eat maybe this is a good idea. For those who want to pay the prices of this place to have an enjoyable dinner don't go here. The 1.5 hours that was assigned to us was not long enough to actually enjoy our dinner. It was forced on us. Starter hadn't even been cleared and main appeared. No time for dessert as we had to get off the table. A tip. Don't over book your tables. You get enough walk ins anyway so you don't need to book the tables back to back. Wouldn't go back and wouldn't recommend. We had to go to another bar for drinks for the rest of evening.

The Rail House Cafe is in the new-ish super trendy part of Victoria; it's a lovely restaurant with a great upstairs bar, a wide ranging menu, efficient service and a lovely drinks list. Would recommend.

Unusual menu which didn’t help - some more traditional plates needed. Food average but service excellent.

REALLY nice food, I enjoyed everything I ordered. Nice ambience, I would go back. Sofa chairs need a good hoover and should take the Victoria card.

Really great venue - would say portions are on the small side for the price for the small plates. But nice atmosphere and good service keeps me coming back.

Had a pre-theatre dinner that was ok, but nothing to made us want to return. There are many restaurants in the area that we would choose instead. Service was sufficient and they told the table was our’s until 7:00. We appreciated the notification, but at the same time wondered about those who might want to stay longer.

Whilst I would recommend the restaurant I'd say it is not the best value. We ordered bread but they had run out so they offered us sliced sourdough - we received two very small, thin slices - for £2.50! The items are expensive and despite it being Sunday lunch they don't serve the lunch menu...part of the reason we chose the restaurant. Very few good vegetarian options.

Our server was lovely and really accommodating. Front of house were fine - our table wasn't ready on time so we had to wait around 15 minutes with it taking about 10 minutes for anyone to take a drinks order.

It was a nice lunch due to the company and our waiter. I wont rush back.

Service was incredibly slow, food also took around 45 minutes to come out and ended up being warm. We were also told we could only have our table for 1 hour 15, even though we booked it as normal online. Ambience and furnishings are lovely and i have had excellent service at the sister restaurant Riding house cafe.

I booked this restaurant for my Boss, who is quite fussy when it comes to food. I asked for her feedback on her return and she said that it was the perfect place for a lunch meeting and the food and ambience was great. She would like me to book this restaurant if she is in the area again on business and she firmly recommends this as a perfect lunching spot. Nice to have lunch there for business meetings. She couldn't recommend it enough.

Need more options to combine protein with bowls. Used to be able to do that and you can not anymore.

Tables are very close to each other. They cram too many tables in a small area.

I booked RHC for a breakfast meeting. The Eggs benedict were a disaster: hard, dry, over toasted muffins; a meagre serving of hollandaise; and small overcooked eggs.
The menu states that due to the nature of hollandaise the dish is served warm rather than hot. This shouldn't be an excuse to serve a lukewarm poorly excecuted dish.
In addition, service wasn't overly friendly and quite lacklustre. I will be avoiding RHC in the future.

Cannot speak highly enough of the service or the atmosphere/venue itself, however we were let down by the food. Myself and two others ordered the avocado salsa on toast with poached egg. The bread was less than a centimeter thick and the eggs were tiny, cold and under cooked. We left feeling very hungry and went to get more food elsewhere.

Would recommend but with a warning that this is purely for convenience... Good location if coming in to or leaving from Victoria station,or going to the theatre locall. The menu has variety and service is friendly, though a little slow. The food itself is nothing special and ours was over salted. Felt like the kitchen were working to a formula and not quite getting it... We needed to be in the area so RHC served its purpose.

Though they've tried the restaurant lacks in atmosphere, feels too forced. Would have been better to make something of the structure of the building and the location rather than try to create an olde world tin hut railway station waiting room feel inside a super modern, glass and iron structure.

The ambiance is really nice and the food was ok, but a little underwhelming compared to the menu and we felt it was not good value for money. Better for a drink than for dinner as the place is really cute and the staff are friendly

Lovely meal out with a friend to catch up - was quite quiet despite it being Friday evening. 'Starters' had limited appeal to be honest - the small dishes available as tapas style eating also served as a first course but not many were to my personal taste. The crunchy squid were very nice. Mushroom wellington for main - good size and well presented. Nice green vegetables. Have a feeling this place is more about location than the food.

The restaurant looks much better on the images online. The food was particularly average. The burger comes with nothing and is quite small - you have to order chips on the side and no salad. The pork main meal was literally meat on a plate. Nothing memorable and we left feeling a bit hungry. I wouldn't come back in a hurry - there are much better places to eat. The staff looked overworked and were visably tired and wanted to go home and became quite sarcastically rude by the end of our meal.

The shakshuka at brunch had tons of small and large tomato stems in it. They were really hard to spot & remove - and some were small enough to be a choking hazard. When we brought it up to our waitress, she just said it was meant to be that way and didn't seem too fussed about the potential choking hazard. Not great.

Ordered burgers for Sunday brunch. Well executed. Staff friendly and attentive, did leave food standing on counter for 2-3 mins so was probably slightly cooler than ideal. Brunch menu covers all you would expect. Ambiance modern, busy, but not too noisy. Price on the higher side for cafe style. Wine starts at £26 for a bottle. Beer £6 for half pint. Good location close to Victoria station.

The food we had was really nice but they didn’t have any brioche and only one portion of pancakes left. This was disappointing as no one told us this when we were given the menus/sat down so when they came to take the order so first person in or group asked for brioche and told there was none, and the other two of us had wanted it too. We asked for more time to decide and we had all said we were getting pancakes - the person came back to take the order and someone asked for pancakes and it was only then they told us that was the last portion. It could have been helpful to let us know when we were told there was no brioche - by the way we also don’t have ... . This then meant only one of us could have pancakes and the other two had to choose something else. Also an indication pancakes are not made fresh at the premises?
