Rail House Café Ratings and Reviews
I’ve worked in the area for 5 years and this is a blessing. I’ve been 4 times since it opened and they never disappoint; good for lunch with colleagues, friends, family, anything really. It’s not going to transform anyone’s worldview but they know what they do well, and they do it well.
Thought it was a fantastic venue. Welcoming and casual but not overly. Staff were superb all the way from bar staff to restaurant. They were particularly helpful with allergies and eager to help. They didn’t make us rushed either. A great venue choice for a get together for friends.
A great spot for a girls get together. Our waiter was amazing! The food was lovely although a couple of things on the menu weren’t available and we weren’t informed so 2 out of 4 of us had to choose something else. What arrived though was delicious. Wine menu has the smallest writing on it - totally illegible and needs sorting. Really enjoyed this venue and will be back for sure
Overall- we had ana amazing time. Outstanding wine, food was wicked, well presented, and very very fresh.
Didn't book for outside table, but as it was warm in the evening, the host offered us table outside, and got it sorted before we could even look at the cocktail list.
Overall- not going to lie,- pretty impressed!!!!
Go and a try- propably the best you can get from Nova!
Special thanks to Nigel for always onowing what great hospitality is!
Our first time there for a team lunch - 6 of us. Extremely good service, fast, friendly and very patient (considering many of us kept changing our minds and asking questions!). Love the menu - something for everyone, and for a change, different to the usual fair! Comfortable and spacious, will definitely go there again and recommend to friends.
I went for lunch with a friend and we had a great experience. All the staff was charming very welcoming and gave us good recommendation.
I had the Rueben sandwich, the bread was quite hard but it was very tasty and huge ! The atmosphere is very nice and so is the decoration ! I will definitely be back, thanks !
The launch of the sister to Riding House Street Cafe is a delight, has all the charm of the original site but with modern & unique twists!
Went in their soft launch week - so there were a few missteps but thats what opening weeks are for, but the staff where friendly and the food tasty, especially the Green Beens with Chilli.
I shall be going back!
My wife and I arranged an early supper with our two adult daughters. The service was polite and quite efficient, though it was a little difficult to get the waitress's attention on a couple of occasions. The menu was well thought out, with enough variety to suit most tastes, and everything was prepared and cooked to a high standard. The design of the restaurant is impressive and when full, the atmosphere is buzzy.
Victoria now has some decent places for food and drink. It was a wasteland but the new developments, of which the Rail Cafe is one, are great.
We had a business lunch and being a Friday the burger/sandwich choices looked good. And they were.
Good service and enough people to give it atmosphere.
I've been there a few times with friends and every time we come out and talk about that poor man at the door. WHY do they even need to have a doorman?
Last time it was this old man and it was almost heartbreaking to see him standing there. It's cruel and absolutely unnecessary. Not to say that it is so bad for the back and legs to be standing for so long.
So really bothers me and all the people I ever came there with.
Otherwise, food is good, but portion are small. I love the decor and the ambiance, but the value for money is poor.
