It was good and priced reasonable. The decor was nice and it was very close to the theater.
Had a lovely time, the service was great and the food was tasty. my only problem was i booked my table in advance and called up to move my reservation forward by half an hour on the morning of my booking and nobody told me until i arrived with my clients that their was only a limited menu due to the kitchen being refurbished which was really annoying!
Another fantastic meal at the Rail House Cafe. Delicious food with friendly, excellent service in a buzzing atmosphere in Victoria, perfect for a girly get together.
The service and ambience were excellent but the food seemed very simple. Not much work done on the ingredients.
Disappointed in food. Large portions but lacking in the flavour and subtlety which I’d expected from a restaurant group with this reputation. Very dull dessert list. Wine pricy.
Loved it! Such a nice vibe in the restaurant and very flexible with dietary requirements.
Extremely cold - central heating was taking a long time to warm the restaurant up in time for breakfast visitors. probably less of an issue in more clement weather !
Slow service. Pretty good food.
Terrible service, ran out of waffles which is what we came for!
It was okay. Nothing amazing but not really awful either. We went for brunch late Sunday morning. The food didn’t take long to arrive but was much smaller than I expected and for the amount charged is a bit ridiculous. We ordered drinks as well but these didn’t arrive until after the food did which seems backwards. Then had to remind the waiter about the drinks to bring them over.
Food was warming but didn’t stay warm for long and same with the tea.
Really not worth the visit I don’t think. The interior decor is lovely but the restaurant doesn’t live up to the hype.
The Riding House Cafe, one of its sister restaurants is much better quality.
Wasn’t told about the 1.5 hr time even though there was 5 of us. Staff weren’t too polite and menu was different to website
It was the perfect location for lunch with a supporter of our organisation. I had asked for a table that was fairly quiet and the staff were obliging. It is a little noisy for serious business but was perfect for us...not too formal but of a really good quality
Good place for brunch, a bit pricey for some dishes/drinks; location a bit difficult to locate, also the main entrance to the restaurant (many of us tried to go into the emergency exit) should be better marked. Good eggs benedict!
We went to the Rail House cafe for brunch - had the shakshuka. It was absolutely delicious and a good price too (around £9.) The restaurant was quite busy and the service wasn’t particularly fast, but the food was so good we would definitely go back.
Despite booking in advance we were given an 'after thought' table in the walk way which was right in the middle of staff rushing about, the chairs were so uncomfortable and we felt that we were in the way. It took almost 30 minutes for our drinks order to be taken and served. Our food came not longer after we ordered which was fine and the food was ok. It was a very expensive meal for what we received - £8.50 for a mimosa is ridiculous!
I have been here 3 times now. The first time, the service and food were poor for the price. The second time the food was better but the service was poor (and there was a piece of chewing gum wrapped up in my napkin) and the third time the food was awful, and the service was poor and it costs a fortune!
I really feel that if you are going to run places like this that are considered trendy and cool, and are quite expensive you HAVE to get it right with the food and the service. It's not an excuse that its popular and busy and therefore you lack on quality. The reason people come here, is to have a good time, not just to be seen there, its not enough. I had a ceaser salad that i understand has to be salty because of the anchovies but this was inedibale. My friends had the turkish eggs that was so watery it was like a can of tinned tomatoes with an egg swimming in it. The waitress was nice enough but rather rude at the end when we asked if we could stay for a drink and also took forever to get her to take my drinks order.
Great venue with delicious food. Service was a little slow but we were in no hurry so didn’t mind.
had a lovely breakfast at the rail house cafe recently. very good menu, and the banana coffee smoothie is worth a try!
We booked and table not quite ready so went to bar. Bat I have to say service is really poor. We were given warm wine glasses for white wine. Barman response “they are the only ones we have”. We had to struggle to carry our drinks to table. The hostess said it was a busy night that’s why the glasses were warm. Well that is not the customer fault. Once I said this I think she realised what she had said. From then on the lady who served us was very efficient. Good came and was ok. Desserts not to our taste cheesecake very dense and chocolate cake even more so. It is such a shame as I think they don’t really care particularly in the bar about customer service. They need to do more training
Lovely place, good food, and good buzz. Service could of been slightly better on my visit but overall really nice.
Good solid place to meet up with your other half or friends. Straight forward food and good service, too.
This part of Victoria needed a lift and that’s what it’s got.
Worth a visit.
Really lovely atmosphere, ruined only by a small child loudly playing their iPad (I felt staff could have said something, especially when it reached a volume that drowned out the background music), but the food was good and the service excellent.
It is a shame that they had nearly no vegan options for the brunch menu. I had the avocado sourdough and when asked if they could make a side of mushrooms I was told no. They didn’t try to accommodate any requests. Food itself was good but a shame that it’s so limited for vegans and they are not flexible in the slightest. Which restaurant can’t make a side of mushrooms?!?
Service and staff were really great. Cocktails were nice and had a good vibe. Food was nice but just nothing wow.
Booked here for my Birthday Brunch for 8 people and called the day before to ask if it was possible to squeeze one more chair in. The man on the phone said that it would be a tight squeeze but they could do it. When we arrived at the venue the receptionist was not welcoming, maybe this should have been a sign of things to come.
We were taken upstairs to our table... which was for 6 people... and were told it was physically impossible to fit 9 on there.. well yes because it was actually a table for 6, not 8 as we had booked. The man that took us up seemed less than impressed with us and sort of shrugged. He then went over to talk to his colleague about the situation leaving us standing feeling slightly awkward. The lady that came back said she could put us on a big table in a private area but that she would need the table back at 1pm. Well as it was 11, we said that was fine. So we sat down and ordered some drinks and waited for the rest of the party to arrive (2 people were delayed) Some drinks came 10-15 minutes later, the 3 cocktails we ordered took around 40 minutes. And one juice took even longer. Our new waitress did her best with us, especially as one of the party has an extreme nut allergy, bringing her the allergen list... but I got the impression she was under a lot of stress and did not have much support from the rest of her team. It was like they were unprepared for us despite booking over a week in advance and confirming the day before. Once food was ordered (and all drinks eventually delivered) the food was actually really nice. Unfortunately the weird awkward atmosphere created by the earlier interactions and the continued stress of the staff around us meant we all felt the most awkward we have ever felt in a restaurant. Ever. And they took so long to do everything from drinks, to taking food order to giving us the bill, it was well past 1pm when we left. They did take some money off the bill for us as an apology but I don't think we will go back!
Really liked this restaurant! The atmosphere was trendy and cozy, and the food was delicious with very generous portions!
Another great meal at the Rail House Café. Will definitely be visiting again.
Really enjoyed, but always very noisy due to hard floor etc. Great food & service. Only issue really was that the automatic door taking ages to open and close meant that on a very cold day you continually got an icy blast and we weren't sat near it!
I've been to Rail house cafe before, and recommended this to my group of friends for a brunch meet up on Sunday.
I was highly disappointed by the food, service and the cost. The waitress who served us was really quite rude, two mistakes were made with our order, when my eggs weren't delivered she picked up my friends and went to hand them to me!?
They also messed up my drink order. The food was cold and overpriced for what was delivered. I was thoroughly disappointed.
We were seated at a small table with the staff/other customers passing through us often. Among the three dishes we ordered, the pork belly was over cooked, the Yorkshire pudding tasted strange, and some vegets on the side tasted terrible. Definitely not good value for money. Feel disappointed as its sister restaurant Riding House is our favourite!
The food is very overpriced (my ‘ham’ was the driest pork chop I think I’ve ever eaten) and the service terrible. They took half an hour to bring us teas and coffees and then made a big fuss of rushing us out before we’d properly finished. I definitely would not recommend this place.
Good lunch earlier in the week, food is good and the wine too, staff are attentive. Wouldn't say it has much of an atmosphere yet but it's understandable in a glass building. Good addition to Victoria.
Great spot near Victoria for a relaxed business breakfast or lunch or a casual drink after work. Efficient and friendly service and good food tick all the boxes. Situated just outside Victoria Station makes it a great meeting place if travelling across the City.
5 of us came to the Rail House on Sunday for a celebration brunch. We had chosen it specifically for its brunch reputation, but I'm afraid the hype didn't match the reality. A special T Bone Pork steak was very over cooked, and the requested accompanying egg never arrived, and service was slow - this is the restaurant's fault, not the server, as there was only one poor girl on duty at the top floor part of the restuarant, despite the place being absolutely crammed. But on a snowy day in London, the ambience was good, and I am sure that the place shows promise of a better experience next time.
Good overall but some ordered starters and didnt want Mains but only one starter came out first and we waited a while for all the others. Would have been good to have had everything at once but no big issue!
They were out of one of the options in the menu without telling us in advance. One of the dishes we ordered was too salty to the point of not being able to finish it. The waitress paid no attention to the feedback despite letting her know about the problem. Apart from that, really nice place.
The food was good but the service was very poor. Super slow ...
Had avocado toast - a very simple thing to make - avocado served freezing as obviously fresh out of the fridge which ruins the dish as it makes the eggs cold. Hard thing to mess up but they did...Juice also not great, very sweet and tasted like it was not fresh. Would not recommend.
Service was very slow, appeared to be quite short staffed. Terrible draft through door, would benefit from not having automatic door which is kept open for ages after people have walked in.
Lovely place though, love the decor and will definitely return.
