Indian
With all its exotic ingredients, unfamiliar dishes, and tongue-tingling flavours, Indian cuisine can be both exciting and intimidating. We at Raja Rani want our customers to get great quality food with value for money as well. We want our service to be elegant yet unobtrusive. As our name means King and Queen, we intend to provide a royal treatment to each of our customers and give them a reason to come back.

We have used Rana Raji previously and have generally been happy all round. However on this occasion although we had a booking, staff had difficulty seating us, eventually giving us a side table in the walkway.

I don't think I will be back until all staff wear masks at all times and follow safety protocols that have been put in place. The only people i saw regularly cleaning their hands were the 2 young girls on shift. Although most of the men wore masks i saw none of them clean their hands and the person who brought my meal, possibly the owners son, didn't bother with his mask.
I was in for 2hrs and 7 people went to the loo. Nobody cleaned it.
MUST DO BETTER UNDER THESE CIRCUMSTANCES

Pakora was excellent, karahi bhuna was not very flavourful. Service was hit and miss, pleasant waitress but not very proactive.

Mixed feedback on the food - very busy, not enough staff on - will give them another chance but expected better given the reviews.

Consistently good food with efficient service on every occasion we have been here. A family favourite and the only restaurant we would consider in the area for dining out when we are looking for Indian food.

Excellent food. Friendly staff with good service. Only one thing on the negative side we ordered poppadoms and spiced onions however they did not arrive at our table.

Food lovely and fresh. Excellent value for money. I was in a group of five and did pre theatre. Service lovely. Didn’t hang about the table as some waiters do but were there when needed. Thursday night fairly quiet. Surroundings really nice. All in I would absolutely recommend raja rani to my friends. We go out as a group every month and this will now be our restaurant of choice.

The four of us enjoyed our meal and we had a good night out. The food was good but the restaurant is a bit too modern inside and “open” and the tables are rather small for four people.

Our party of 4 arrived at 6.10 pm for a pre booked table. We were served drinks and starters quickly
and were finished the starters by 6.35 pm. Our main courses arrived at 7.30 pm which was too long a
wait, even on a busy night,

Amazing Indian food we had a two meals from the veggie menu which can also be made vegan. Probably the best I've tasted. Staff were lovely. It wasn't too busy for a Friday night. Would go back.

Portion sizes of pakora & tandoor king prawns on small side. Other members of my part had veg curry and chicken chasni which seemed about right in portion size. Tap beer wasnt available after first pint ordered which seemed odd for a Friday evening. Food presented well and tasted good. Staff pleasant and helpful.

The four of us had a good value meal, but the prawns ran out so one of us had to take a vegetable curry. Disappointing. Good value at £11.50 for two courses. Quite quiet. Helpful and friendly staff.

The food was excellent but the overall experience was ruined by a problem with the restaurant's mobile credit card machine which was not working properly and was unable to process not just one card but two that we presented. As there was no reason that both of these cards would be declined, the problem clearly lay with the machine but somehow we were made to feel we were at fault and we were left with no option but to go and get money from a nearby ATM. There was no apology or goodwill gesture offered for this inconvenience which left us feeling embarrassed and humiliated. I understand these problems can occur with technology but it was the manner in which it was handled that left a sour taste. As stated there was no problem with the food but customer service needs to be improved.
