Rajpoot Restaurant
Incredible food, incredible service, overall a wonderful experience!
The excellent food and quality of service keeps me going back every time I work in Dorchester.
Very pleased with our lovely meal. Brilliant staff and price.
Superb curry, always fantastic! Can’t wait to go again.
Stunning food, really friendly staff and a lovely setting. We will be back.
Covid protection was excellent, food great, staff friendly. Lovely meal!
Delicious food.
food was just ok nothing special but it was the service that let it down. I do understand with a 10pm curfew it may be a bit rushed but the server was at the point of being a little rude and trying to hurry us up all the time. Restaurant was nearly empty so no ambience at all. its at the top end pricing for an indian restaurant and sadly there are fair better places locally . we expected much better as it has a very good local reputation and we were excited to try.
When the food arrived it was good. Whole evening a comedy of errors. We arrived in 2 groups. Both explained we were an incomplete party of 5. We were given separate tables at either end of restaurant. When we eventually found each other staff asked why we were sitting together! We waited for one hour twenty mins for our food. We were given a complimentary drink. Staff explained they were dealing with lots of take away orders!? When our food arrived the two lamb orders where chicken instead! We didn’t want to wait for them to be changed so kept the chicken. As I said food was fine but We Will Not Be Going Back.
Had a really nice meal with very good service. Would go again
Very tasty food..well presented, well seasoned high-end Indian cooking
Was horrendous from arrival to departure.
We arrived 5 minutes early, our table was booked for 7.45pm, to be told our table had been given to another couple who arrived late for their booking so we had to wait half an hour to be seated. We were finally seated which was near a table of 10 lively lads who were shouting obsceneties, our order was taken for food, we waited an hour and 10 minutes before our food arrived, which may i say, was not up to much. There was no social distancing measures in place within the restaurant, very concerning, service was poor. We didn't even finish our meal and decided to leave. My husband went to pay, whilst doing so he expressed how poor the dining experience was, the response he was given was " it is Saturday night sir". Absolutely disgusted in this establishment, we will never return to the Rajpoot, ever.
Extremely good food, friendly efficient service and very good value
As always an excellent meal with great service and a relaxed atmosphere. Wonderful choice of food on the menu and really reasonable prices.
The starter was superb
Very busy night
Curry main course was bland
Possibly because of restaurant being full
Were 10 minutes late due to traffic and refused entry past two.
Service was efficient but we were never made to feel welcome, almost to the point of being an inconvenience. The food was hot but disappointingly bland and for a large, almost empty restaurant, some people were seated at tables well under 2 metres apart.
Excellent service and great food! Best curry in Dorchester.
The food was the best Indian we'd ever had. The pakoras (onion bhajis) were something else.
Outstanding place. We stopped just to break our journey from Sussex to Devon. Very easy to find, free parking (after 6pm) just across the road and a really friendly welcome.
The selection was very good, the portions huge and the naan bread (Peshwari in my case) outstanding - some of the best I’ve tasted.
We will certainly be going back.
Great food and service
Lovely staff and gorgeous food. Have been several times before and it's always a pleasure.
Couple of our dishes were very bland and not to the standard I would have expected.
Fantastic food but we waited well over an hour a restaurant packed
The food was as always outstanding. The service was slow, however I will say this wasn’t necessarily the fault of the restaurant as it was far busier than it usually is because it is participating in the eat out scheme. This obviously had a knock on effect on how quickly the staff are able to serve. The food was all piping hot and fresh so ultimately it was worth the wait. I will say the soft drinks are disappointing though as the Diet Coke is clearly out of a bottle as it is flat and warm when you receive it and the ice added melts so quickly that it adds nothing but water to the drink and given the prices I feel they could do better in the area even if it was just serving canned drinks at least they would be fizzy
There was not social distancing in there at all it felt unsafe . The tables were close together and not any distance apart . They clearly did not follow the Covid 19 safe rules my husband and I thought the food very good but won’t eat there again as the tables far to close and no room to move
Amazing food. Completely recommend. We’d visit every week if we lived closer
Due to Covid-19 we were disappointed that social distancing was not being observed and far too many diners were being seated
Food good, service not , staff were abrupt and certainly didn't make us feel welcome. Tables were not socially distanced luckily we got there earlier but if we had arrived an hour later would not have stayed.
Very pleasant visit with my daughter. Food was exceptional, service polite and efficient and the care and attention given to social distancing, and other protocols was very reassuring.
We are regulars at this restaurant but were disappointed with the food on this occasion.
Excellent food. Top quality and well presented. Highly recommended.
Good quality food with efficient service. I would recommend.
Food was excellent and couldnt fault it, the staff were very polite.
I only have one criticism and that is just to say my partner and I prefer it when the food is brought out in separate dishes so you can choose how much you want on your plate at one time or try out individual bits and pieces, unfortunately the meal comes out already dished up on the plate ...so took the fun out of it, people might prefer that but each to their own, the restaurant itself is really nice and my partner and I will definately go again
Excellent authentic food, great staff who are happy to anything that isn’t necessarily on the menu....
Great Indian restaurant and in my all time too 10!
Slow albeit apologetic service, food was tasty but cold when arrived.
Lovely food, well presented and polite staff. It was noisy on this particular evening with a couple of boisterous tables and if I could have chosen I wouldn't have sat right next to the door as you do tend to get an icy blast every time someone goes in or out.
The food was very well presented and tasted lovely. Drinks not too badly priced. Quite noisy when full but liveable as good was so good.
Very good even though ver busy standard of food very good as usual
We read the recent reviews and though it was worth a try. Quickly seated and served. Food was of a very good standard and also accommodated our request for items not on the menu. Staff we’re polite and attentive. Overall a very good experience. Would definitely recommend and will be returning.
