Ramiz Turkish Grill has 140 locations globally and this is the first location in the United States. Our story began with two orphan brothers born in Prilep, Macedonia at the beginning of the 20th Century. They immigrated to Turkey with their grandmother, who raised them and worked in various restaurants perfecting a recipe of grilled meatballs made by street vendors in Macedonia and opened a shop that was made famous by their speciality dish.

Later in life, they expanded within Turkey and in the year 2000, opened a location which became frequently visited by politicians, artist and athletes.

The principles and recipes remain the same as it's origin in 1928 as Ramiz Turkish Grill continues to expand - now in its first US location in Philadelphia's South Street.

7.22.24 after 12:34 am… saw 1:11! Thank you for the wonderful late night snack, that we had, on the full moon/blue moon …with the best server ever!! Beyza!! Absolutely adore that girl! Got the favorites, the red lentil soup, and the fresh hummus with olive oil and pita … Took my friend there for the first time and he had to find some parking off of South Street because police had cleared the entire road… it was difficult to find anywhere really amazing to eat, but we know that you are the best late night eating close to my dance!! Thank you for being open past midnight! YAY BEYZA! We LOVE YOU!! …your smile, your fabulous energy! Cheered me right up and my friend too …got him smiling again! The food tastes better with a smile!! 😂🤲🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

This was an amazing Turkish restaurant! The service and food were great. Our waitress was so helpful and friendly as was the owner. They gave us great advice and we enjoyed a delightful meal !

6.8.24 12:30 am… Always a Fantastic time eating a wonderful light meal after dance… So grateful that they have the 12:30 AM reservation and if they had later ones, we would still be coming! Absolutely LOVE my favorite red lentil soup… It’s not red, more like a lovely yellow, but the flavor is so good! I even add a bit of lemon juice on top… And we really enjoyed the hummus! It’s just so PERFECT! The pita is warm and fresh and everything is fresh and very delicious… This time I had the pistachio baklava which is my favorite dessert there and my friend had his favorite dessert which is the Kunefe… you can get it nowhere else it is so good! But he won’t share one bit of it because it’s his favorite! We had the Apple TV which is like almost a clear tea with organic sun-dried apples, it’s very light and not sweet and just perfect! Thank you so much! In order to get signed on to OpenTable they had to call our favorite manager, Sal… Enjoyed talking to him on the phone… And our favorite server is the new as of only two weeks, Beyda D… so sweet and so sincere! We are excited to see what your new walls will look like! See you soon!

Absolutely love the red lentil soup! Fantastic! We love SAL! He’s the best!!! Also love the falafel with hummus platter! Definitely the go to place for anything just after midnight!! It’s so close by right on South and second St.!! Now they have decided to renovate the interior!! Loved the food here!! We keep coming back for more!!

Cinco de Mayo night… wow! Always a Fantastic late night dinner here! I danced until almost 1230 and we took the last reservation at 12:30 AM, and had the most fantastic dinner on a Sunday night! We had Sal… he was just fabulous! He made good suggestions, and he even made us a deal when my friend wanted to get the Kunefe dessert while I wanted to get the baklava! He gave us the best of both worlds and he also gave us the most wonderful surprise non-caffeinated organic sun-dried Apple, tea! The best deal was for me to get the falafel platter which comes over top of hummus, together with a great little salad in the middle! It comes with six falafel instead of the appetizer version which only has four… Plenty of pita, and I still got to have my baklava! My friend ordered the Gyro, and got it over rice instead of rolled. The all-time favorite is still the red lentil soup with a bit of lemon juice on top! We agreed that we could eat tons of these!! SO GOOD!! Thank you, Sal for a fabulous experience! We will be back!!

Our server was Doga, pronounced (DOUGH-AH)… She said the nicest things about waiting for us… We took the last reservation after my event on a Thursday, which was 12:30 AM, technically Friday morning… we had the Turkish tea, which is super strong and they did not have honey as anticipated but they had lemon and sugar. The absolute favorite: The Red lentil soup, which was more like the yellow lentil Greek soup, and extremely delicious, especially with a squeeze of lemon! Also really great, with a squeeze of lemon, was the hummus! BEST hummus, BEST falafel, All three of them extremely fresh!! … Then my friend ordered the shrimp kebab, platter, It comes with vegetables, but they seemed a bit waterlogged in flavor… I would double up on the things that are extremely delicious. I would even get the shrimp kebab if it was on a stick by itself… The shrimp were great!! My friend said that they were completely full and they let her take away the vegetable accompaniment from that dish… But then they had plenty of room for dessert! Our sweet server suggested her favorites and so we got all three!! THEY WERE ALL EXCELLENT! Oven baked rice pudding called Sutlac. Baklava, that was rolled instead of the triangular Greek kind, it was the perfect amount of sweet, not too sweet, and the third one. The Kunefe. “A crispy unsalted cheese filled dessert made with shredded dough”, like very thin noodles, “pistachios, and a sweet syrup, served hot from the oven, so that the cheese is soft and stringy”. My friend said that that was his all-time favorite! It was buttery and the most unique! We had never had it before! Thank you for being open late night and for such a beautiful accommodating welcome! We definitely will be returning!
