A word from Red Dog Saloon
Barbeque grew up in the South of the USA where cooks learned to slow roast cuts of meat over fire pits to make them tender. Exposure to the smoke of the smouldering wood added a distinctive smoky taste to the meat. The process could take many hours, leaving the meat tender and juicy.… Our award-winning smoker has been imported from the USA and is built to recreate the cooking process of those original fire pits. We use the traditional American woods of hickory and mesquite to give a full smoke flavour, and the meat stays in the smoker for up to 16 hours.

Forgot my friends meal completely so he had no food.
Also forgot 5 of the sides.
Takes 30 mins to get a pint after they’ve taken your drink order.
Food is nice but totally ruined my birthday meal as we was missing food and one of my friends never had his meal. So we was all eating and he was sitting there hungry waiting for them to cook his food as they forgot it.
Not acceptable sorry

Food was only ok, nothing special. The restaurant was so loud, loud music and rowdy crowd. Not a nice place to eat.

Food was good but service was very slow and impersonal. We were also told when we arrived that all beer taps weren't working and hadn't been all day and feel we should have been told that when we made the booking.

Whilst the staff were friendly, great atmosphere and the day was commendable. The food was a bit pants. The chicken was so dry and the macaroni cheese really watery. I'm sure burgers or chicken wings are the way to go but then if thats the case remove the BBQ bits from the menu. A bit dissapointed with the money paid and what we got. Also cucumber isn't a pickle.

The food was lovely, the service was very poor, the lady waitress we had never smiled and probably spoke about half a dozen words, the food was practically thrown at us, no condiments were offered, she charged us for extra “unlimited “ refills. My wife paid for the meal has I have paid I would’ve insisted the 12.5% discretionary service charge be taken off

Noise is a serious problem at this resturant
they need to install some ceiling buffering and customer noise can become intense and trying ...

Otherwise great wings and burgers and excellent staff

Have been there at least 5 times now. Gave a not so great review this time as it was like a college frat party and the food was not the usual. Ordered a burger which is usually one thicker patty and got 2 thin patties (like from McDonalds) . Super loud, not so clean, service was the best you could expect as there were only about 2-3 servers and there should have been at least 8.

Shocking service. Drinks took 15mins to arrive, sticky tables, toilets out of action, starters came out after our main, as did our fries & to top it all off...the waiter took our order of sweet potato fries only to be told at the end of the night that they're not even on the menu! Food was actually good when it arrived but the service is absolutely horrendous. Can't see this place staying open much longer.

Went for a work Xmas reunion but should've went elsewhere in Clapham. Main reason being the rude staff and customer service. Took 10mins to be asked for our drinks once seated, had about four different waitors over the whole evening. Waitresses had no customer service skills and were not friendly, appeared to be quite obnoxious to my group throughout the night. Asked for a pitcher for the whole table and bought half the number of pint glasses needed so had to ask the bar staff for extra. The food took a pretty excessive amount of time given the restaurant was only half full. Once the food finally arrived, the burgers were fine but we all felt the chips werent cooked properly. Shame as I thought the Hoxton branch was great, this experience has spoilt it for me now.

Service was awful, my meal came with a side of slaw and hot sauce which was forgotten and had to ask for twice, 2 of my friends food was cold and had to be sent back. Football was on and the noise was very loud, some lads behind us even threw their beer and it went down my back. Will not be returning! Hoxton square location however is fab!

Monday’s are very quiet so a good time to go for a catch up. Wings are delicious (BBQ) and portions are substantial! Delicious desserts and there is an outside area which is a bonus.

Will definitely go again.

Lively place, quite male dominated ( the rugby was on so this could be why ) however we felt comfortable as a small group of women.
Food was yummy, portion sizes were generous and it wasn’t over crowded so was still able to have a good natter.
Only negative is the lemon ice tea which appear to be missing the tea! It tasted more like the juice of 30 lemons 😖.

I have been at least 10 times before to the Clapham and Hoxton restaurants and this had to be by far the worst, the staff were nice and friendly and accommodated to the extra numbers we brought, however I looked online and the menu was the original menu I’ve been used to but when we got there the menu was small and the options were not very good.

There were 8 of us, 5 of us got our food together, the other 3 received their fries but had to wait at least 10 minutes for their burger to arrive, all the food should be served together, 2 of the party had the baby back ribs meal which cost 18.50 yet your portions from previous experience were tiny, I used to order a whole portion of ribs for the same price yet they received 3 ribs, way too much money for what they received, they also asked if it was a full rack which the waitress said they were.

To summarise your new menu is poor, you need to either go back to the old one or similar and if basically felt like you received less food for more money.

We are usually generous and leave tips but on this occasion and I think the first I’ve ever refused to pay service charge was here, I won’t be returning unless it massively improves.

Had previous meals been amazing great food massive selection but really disappointed this time a lot smaller menu not great selection unlike previous visit waiting staff pleasant although not great English which meant having to say order again and again, dessert selection poor have been massive fan of this restaurant and travel from Bromley to eat there ( best part of an hour away ) probably won’t again tho which is a real shame as both kids used to really enjoy the visit

Waited 15 minutes before the waiter made himself known even though there must have been only another 3/4 tables occupied in the restaurant.

Ordered drinks, 2 buckets of beers, then starters and mains at the same time as we thought he may not come back for another 15 minutes. This was true as we then had to wait 15 minutes for our drinks to arrive. I can’t for the life of me think why as it takes minimal effort to put ice into a bucket the beers into said bucket. They must have been in a rush because it seemed like they forgot half the ice and beers were not cold.

Starters shortly followed at the same time as the main (which we didn’t request) except for one of our parties main. We notified the staff that a main was missing to which their response was that we didn’t order the missing dish. We certainly did! After a back and forth with the staff they finally ordered the missing main to be cooked.

The food -

The buffalo wings must have come from chickens that were put on diets! The fried chicken was dripping in grease. The Mac & Cheese portions we rediclulously small for the cost. I bit in to my burger to almost crack my tooth on a bone segment.

The missing main arrived when everyone had finished and as such my friend decided he didn’t want to be the only one eating and asked they take it back. This was met with a bit of attitude from the waitress (may have been manager). She ended up offering to comp the meal which I though was the very least she could do. My friend then bit into his chicken to find it undercooked where they had obviously rushed to get it out.

Upon return to clear the plates the manger(?) enquired as to why the was so much food left on people’s plates. When given the reason she argued back. We asked for the bill and when delivered the manager informed she had waived the service charge! Well thanks for that and thank you for making it sound as you were doing us a favour.

In short, bad food, bad service, rude manager & will never go back

I booked a table on opentable, a restaurant reservations app however when I got there the kitchen had closed and they were only serving drinks. Why is it possible to book a table on a restaurant app if you can’t eat? And why was this not mentioned when I made the booking? Ridiculous. Both on opentable and red dog saloons part. Embarrassing when I turned up with my guest and I look forward to hearing from you.

Awful.

We booked our table and turned up at the restaurant to be told they had no pork ribs. In a BBQ place on a Saturday night! But ok, we all ordered beef instead and had a drink while we waited. 40 minutes later we were told they had no beef. I don't know why they opened if they didn't have any food and als why they couldn't have told us this sooner.

Do not go.

Arrived and their was a football match on. So bit disappointed. We saw there was only 20 ish min left so ordered drinks to start while we wait after the match to have dinner peacefully.
They could have asked if we wanted lit bites to eat with the drinks but haven’t.
Then we ordered our meal once the football was over.
Food was good, well presented, tasty.
The waiters didn’t ask if we wanted more drinks.
Learn to sell!
Could have sold lite bites with pre food orders. And could have had more drinks during the meal! Get asking, brings your sales up.
Be a bit friendlier too, would help with the sales.

We went here for father’s day as my dad and partner love this restaurant- however we were not told about father’s day special and only saw it on the board when we were leaving the restaurant and also the food was slightly disappointing. They also tried to charge us for items we hadn’t ordered... all in all a slightly disappointing experience - so won’t be visiting again any time soon....

We ordered a milkshake and when it came we tasted it and realised either the milk or cream was off. After that we were very put off and did not enjoy our meals. To make matters worse when they brought our condiments to us I found a dead fly in the vinegar. We were so put off by then we really did not enjoy anything.

We chose this place as a previous favourite spot . We used to come here often and the food was always great . We also recommended it to friends and family all the time. We decided to revisit for a birthday celebration and I’m afraid to say we were really disappointed . The menus changed in terms of the offer and combo options . We ordered food and it was cold when it arrived . They also hadn’t put the birthday boys food on the ticket so that was forgotten . The food was average at best and the fried rib to start was tasteless, cold and disappointing. Coleslaw could have been off and the manager did check but it tasted very displeasing. In the defence the staff did come and did supplement the bill . They also brought the cake out for us.
I am writing this review to get you to understand that it was good before and whilst I appreciate change and business management , it’s a shame that it didn’t stay that way

I went here for a birthday/pre baby get together with friends. We've eaten here as a group several times in the past and always enjoyed it. Unfortunately, on this occasion we were really disappointed. Several of us ordered the brisket (only to find they've changed how they prepare/serve it). All of us found it fatty, underseasoned and overcooked - mine was so bad I didn't actually eat it. We were a group of 8 and several of us had to wait for our drinks and sides after the orders got mixed up. Some of us thought we'd salvage the meal with dessert but even that proved a stretch and we waited a LONG time to find the wait staff forgot to pass our order to the chef and they then didn't have one of the desserts. We gave feedback to the wait staff and deducted £18 from the £25 (!) service bill as we weren't offered any recompense, only to then have the waitress come back and tell us we hadn't paid enough to cover the bill. When we explained that we had reduced the service she replied with an "oh" and walked off. Don't think any of us will be returning in the near future.
