Red Dog Saloon Hoxton
Our award-winning smoker has been imported from the USA and is built to recreate the cooking process of those original fire pits. We use the traditional American woods of hickory and mesquite to give a full smoke flavour, and the meat stays in the smoker for up to 16 hours.
Excellent carnivore platter, every element was as tasty as the last, friendly and helpful serving staff and a crisp home beer to wash it all down, nice to get back to going to restaurants
We come here quite a lot, usually the food is amazing and the whole experience also, this time though the food was ridiculously bad, the burgers were drenched completely in butter and the loaded fries were oily and undercooked. We could only manage to eat a little bit of each of our meals, we would have complained at the time but unfortunately we had other plans we had to rush to make, very disappointed won’t be coming back just yet.
Good food as always
Place was amazing, vibe was cool, good music and friendly staff.
Went for my birthday, the food was amazing. The staff were so friendly. Will be back soon
Great food and service. Music was great but could’ve been just a tad quieter inside.
Food was outstanding will definitely be back! Service was very good!
The food was really good , however .. when booking the table , I had requested that it was a birthday meal and if someone could bring out a little something for my friend...
but nothing was brought out .. so left slightly disappointed tbh ...
I have eaten here before a few years ago and the wings and service was amazing but when I visited this week Tuesday the food wasn't good at all and the waitress took our order and forgot about our food.
Amazing lovely food, staff and drinks awesome place
The music was too loud to have a relaxing time and there were some rowdy customers nearby.
Tasty, very tasty
We were a group of 4 visiting for a Friday lunch. The food was good but not worth writing home about. The staff and service was very warm and hospitable. They do try to give you a Texan BBQ experience all round.
I enjoyed the food and it’s reasonably priced and very delicious. However Staff could of been a little bit more attentive. We were kept waiting quite a while for someone to take our order and had to get up a few times to reorder food, drinks... Not the best.
Waiters kept coming over too much and made it very obvious they wanted us to order FAST
The service was terrible, it was very slow. The two of us went out and were put on a table where everyone kept bouncing into us when they were walking past. When I spoke to
One of the staff about this he said he couldn’t move us. Our food took ages to come. Then when it did the chips were stone cold and so was the macaroni.
We are our burgers and then decided to leave. The manager sent us some complimentary drinks but we were fed up by that time.....
The perfect evening - outstanding food and drinks, brilliant attentive staff, lovely atmosphere. Will definitely be coming back soon! 10/10
We had a great time here and would recommend it to others and the back ourselves in the near future
The food was delicious, I especially enjoyed the brisket. My friend and I were very impressed by how good it tasted. It was also good value for money. The only thing I wouldn't recommend is the Mac and Cheese, it was more like cheesy pasta.
My boyfriend and I loveeee this place, best chicken sandwich HANDS DOWN, there is no competition, they win.
This may of been a one off, but we booked for 7.30pm, was told upon arrival our table wasn't ready and to wait at the bar, which we did. We were eventually sat down at 8.15. Our order was obviously lost as we complained twice at the length of time we had to wait for the order to come. The food arrived at 9.30pm, 2 hours after arriving at the restaurant. We were given a discounted price but to be honest, we wanted to get in and out relatively early and didn't finish eating at 10.30 which was way later than we wanted.
Great service, no rushing from the attentive staff.
Excellent burgers and brisket!
Amazing food. Best burger myself and partner have ever had. Will definitely be returning.
Great food, great service. Nice part of town. Been before will go again.
Food was no where near as good as I have had in the past from the same restaurant.
They had a new waitress who had no idea what she was doing unfortunately.
Still enjoyable but could of been much better.
Booked a table for 11 for a stag do, we actually had 12 but red dog Hoxton were very accommodating and wasn’t an issue, service was superb from the off and we were looked after very well, would highly recommend for large parties, food was delicious and very reasonable
Excellent food (as always). Only let down was the restaurant did not have a record of my reservation. Thankfully they were able to fit us in regardless.
Very good service, nice ambience although a bit dark downstairs where we were sitting. The food was very tasty but some of the plates arrived a bit cold.
Service was slow, food was good when it came. Night was ruined though as there was a drunk young teenager left on his own barely awake holding a beer. This seemed pretty bad to us so we told the Manager who responded by having a go at us for interfering and saying none of our business... absolutely no concern on her part about the child. unbelievable.
Great food and service...............................
Perfect service perfect food perfect ambiance, cherry mash sour cocktails are a must my wife loved them.
This was my third time here, the food was definitely not as good as the last couple of times, felt like they weren’t on their A-game, waited about 25 mins to get our drinks despite it being quiet and burgers weren’t very hot. I’ll still go again in future though as have had some amazing food and service in here before.
Service was friendly prompt and efficient. Food amazing for the carnivores and the 2 veggies and vegan in our group also really enjoyed their meals.
Only slight issue is the lighting levels, 10 people were trying to read the menu by phone light.
The food is great would be perfect if you could see it
Was very cramped food was nice but very long to come out.
The beer i had tasted horrible so i changed go another one and it still tasted horrible! The burger was saturated in greece with no taste what so ever. This was the philly cheese steak burger. The mac and cheese side was the woret mac and cheese i have tried my partners red wine was not good so much so she left it and had to pay for another drink which was equally bad. And for 2 people to have 1 starter each 1 burger each with 3 sides and 3 drinks set us back over £80 for what i would say was probably the worst meal i have had in a long time. Valentine's day was pretty much ruined by this experience. Would never recommend this place to eat. Poor value for money. Poor food and poor drink
Very dissatisfied customer
It has improved massively since my last visit around a year ago. Much better menu, service was great.
The food was great but within the first five minutes, three waiters asked us six times what we wanted for drinks, we didn’t get enough time to even look. Our waitress was pretty “whatever” about anything and it was so dark we had to use our phone torches to see the menu.
The Red Dog Saloon quite simply make the best burgers I have ever tasted. My wife and I seek one out every time we are in London.
Unfortunately, due to a fire, the central Soho branch was closed at time of writing, so the Hoxton branch was the only London-based alternative. It is not the quickest or easiest of places to get to, but let me assure you that it is more than worth the trip for the frankly absurd quality of food. The meat melts in the mouth, and there is more cheese than you could ever hope for.
They even offer some food challenges for the brave (or foolish). However, be warned that there is some serious competition, so don't be disappointed if you pale.in comparison to previous winners that adorn the wall of fame.
The only thing to be aware of is that the noise levels can be quite high, causing you to have to speak at quite high volumes to carry a conversation. There is also a quite relaxed atmosphere, which can lead to small children running around at their whim - so it's not somewhere to go for a quiet meal.
Any serious carnivores must give this place a go, as they truly work some sort of magic on the meat. And I don't think anyone ever leaves unsatisfied.
I'll be back every chance I get. And be sure to keep an eye open for the more centrally-located Soho branch when it re-opens!
The quality of the food is amazing. We had a sharing platter and sides and everything was so tasty! Our waiter Jose Ramon helped us choose the portions and it was just perfect. He was really knowledgeable of the product and really great customer service. Great experience and looking forward to coming back soon!
Great location near to bars etc. Amazing food. Loads of choice.
