Barbeque grew up in the South of the USA where cooks learned to slow roast cuts of meat over fire pits to make them tender. Exposure to the smoke of the smouldering wood added a distinctive smoky taste to the meat. The process could take many hours, leaving the meat tender and juicy.

Our award-winning smoker has been imported from the USA and is built to recreate the cooking process of those original fire pits. We use the traditional American woods of hickory and mesquite to give a full smoke flavour, and the meat stays in the smoker for up to 16 hours.

The Greek barman and bar woman in particular were excellent. Same for the Hungarian waitress. Great service. Food was generally good. Atmosphere great.

Food was great! I've heard a lot about the restaurant and it did not disappoint!

I did make a request in the additional notes that didn't get fulfilled though which is a bit of shame but there you go!

I love red dog and used to visit the one in Southampton. This one is near my new home and thank goodness. Only thing is sometimes the music was too loud so we found ourselves shouting but would never deter is going again.

I always enjoy a visit to RedDog and they didn't entirely disappoint this time. The meat and burgers that we had for our mains were very good (brisket was ace), the buffalo wings were lacking a bit of sauce but they were nice thick wings! The only let downs were the mac and cheese and the coleslaw sides, the mac and cheese felt like it was out of a box and not homemade as we'd expect for the price and the coleslaw tasted shop bought too. Again we love Red Dog and have been numerous times, I just wish they'd sort out these small issues. Will definitely be back :)

The service was extremely slow and we had to ask several times for our drinks as they kept forgetting them. The food quality was also very average.

I always love a visit here as it is reasonably priced for the food, great cocktails, and a great location. We were shown to our table quickly and not rushed in anyway despite it being busy, but that was to be expected on a Saturday! I definitely recommend for something that is not the usual chain!

Used to be the original BBQ restaurant in east London but has fallen behind a lot of others. Food is good but no wow factor. Saturday evening full of loud groups of guys so not somewhere to go for the ambience. Service was good.

We are 50-somethings from NYC area on vacation. I did not care for this area of London and we had trouble finding something workable for us. We hadn’t had any BBQ in the UK and thought we would give it a go. First of all, there was a bachelor party going on that was overly ridiculously loud when we got there. There is a nightclub downstairs for 20-somethings (which was actually less obtrusive than the bachelors and didn’t affect or dinner. I had fried chicken, husband had ribs and brisket. My chicken was a little greasy but good; husband says ribs were not like the states but ok. Ambience similar to an Applebees or Outback. Service good.

Great.

So many BBQ places always have one part of the meal as slightly off - whether it's atmoshphere, the sides, the mains or something! Red Dog - everything was great. Carnivore platter was outstanding.

It is a very nice restaurant to go with friends or a larger group. Good cocktail menu and many food sharing options.
Staff was friendly, but because they hadn't assigned tables to one member of staff you did get asked the same things a couple of times. At one point the also took the plates away when one person was still eating and there was a bit of an awkward moment where I think the waiter was considering whether to put everything down again or walk away.
Other than that it is a lovely place for some ribs, brisket and chicken with some cocktails. Try the Pickelback!

I used to love coming here enjoying the food but in the last 2/3times I have been back the food had not been the same.

I ordered burger where it wasn’t hot, brioche was too sweet and just lacked flavour. The chicken goujonse was so bland, the batter was what you expect from a bad fish n chip shop. Also the bbq platter did not come out hot, the meat was covered in fat.

Red dog has reduced its quality massively and been left behind by comp and I will not be returning anytime soon!!

Always love red dog. Got the chicken tenders this time (usually have the pulled pork or brisket) and they were nice but lacked a bit of seasoning. Not just salt but perhaps some herbs in the batter too. Overall not too bad though 😊

I went to dinner with 2 other friends, no alcohol was bought and we ended up paying around £30 each. The food was not that great. The ribs were nice and soft but the southern fried chicken was flavourless. The Mac and Cheese was swimming in cheese sauce with about 10 pieces of pasta in it. Chips were really nice though as well as the milkshakes. My meal also came with a side of raw onions which I was confused about, I just scraped them into tissue because who wants to eat raw, just chopped onions.

Service was ok, we had a girl on her first day and she was very nice, made a couple mistakes but that's human. We waited about 35-40mins for our food and 20mins for our drinks and the restaurant was quiet so concerned about what it would be like if it was packed.

Nice ambience, not loud and in a nice area. If you're a smoker you can sit outside at the front of the restaurant.

Overall I wouldn't recommend, mainly because of the food quality. If your looking for a delicious American style restaurant, Big Easy or Bodeans are my go tos and it's worth the money. Red Dog is definitely not worth the money I'm afraid.

The tables are small and the booth where we was sat difficult to sit at and made for 4 rather than our party of 6. The staff although friendly were either having difficulties to understand us or vice versa as had to ask for cutlery 4 times and drinks 3 times. The food was rushed as literally my son was still eating his starter when they starter to deliver main course. Meat was luke warm at best and definitely not the best BBQ place in London. Oh and the Amstel was flat. Definitely will not not be returning.
