Red Dog Saloon Nottingham
Barbeque grew up in the South of the USA where cooks learned to slow roast cuts of meat over fire pits to make them tender. Exposure to the smoke of the smouldering wood added a distinctive smoky and juicy taste to the meat. Our award-winning smokers have been imported from the USA and are built to recreate the cooking process of those original fire pits. We use the traditional American woods of hickory and mesquite to give a full smoke flavour, and the meat stays in the smoker for up to 18 hours.

Crammed right next to another table so asked to move then food didn’t come for an hour and 10 mins didn’t have what I ordered pulled pork sandwich glasses got smaller when ordering cocktails will never go again awful experience
Food overpriced and nothing special. £12.50 for a standard burger that doesn't come with chips/ a side isn't good value.
Service OK but everyone seemed unsure what they should be doing.
Manager seemed very inconvenienced when we turned up with a push chair, shoved us in the furthest corner then proceeded to sit a loud party of 14 next to us.
Food was incredible, massive portions, and outstanding flavour 10/10 would recommend to any bbq lovers, would definitely go again
Ordered platter came within 10mins which was to quick for the type of food, realised the food was re-heated! Staff were building something in next room and making a lot of noise! Will not return!!
Always enjoy red dog. Only thing that I can complain about is loaded fries weren’t hot and they had run out of tomato juice at 7.30pm.
Clean plates all round. Great wings
Great food and great value for money. Music just a bit too loud
Overall the food was lovely but we though the price was very expensive, it’s silly how you don’t get any sides with it. You pay £12.50 for a burger and then you have to pay £4 more for fries! it’s stupid. Compared to your Instagram page and the photos you add we expected a lot more than what we got, the flavour was nice but the overall burger was very dissapointing, we are glad we came but we won’t be coming again until something changes regarding price.
Amazing food and restaurant. Would definitely recommend and go again.
Punisher burger with fries 10/10
Luke from Sheffield
I had a smashed burger which was very tasty but abit on the small side, next time I would probably order a normal burger as I noticed others who had them they looked alot more filling! My friend had a brisket sandwich that was packed with meat, I tried abit it was tasty but very dry! But is a nice place good atmosphere! I would definitely visit again just order something different next time.
First time coming here and loved the food! It was quiet so service was quick and the girl who served us was really nice!
Food was basic and a tasteless.£7.50 for “loaded cities” was a little plate of chips wi mince on top 🤣bare in mind we drive over 50 miles to try this place! Never again
Good themed restaurant in central Notts. Food and service was fine, but the final bill was extortionate, £95 for 3 of us, couple of drinks each, some fried chicken and a couple of starters to share.
Server did not realise one meal was missing, one meal was cooked rare instead of medium well. Spent it back and it took 25 minutes for another burger to come out.
Had multiple servers which made following up with food very poor. As our main waitress did not even realise a dish had been sent back.
The food was really good! However the price of the burgers does not come with fries, which makes the meal quite expensive.
We had to wait nearly an hour for our initial drinks. Food was just as late. While the service staff were polite and apologetic, there was no explanation for waiting an hour. In short - the food is good; service very disappointing.
Arrived at 7.05 and we left at 7.55 as we hadn't received our drinks yet. Don't think they had the staffing to deal with the demand.
The manager and waitress were nice and the manager understood why we were leaving.
I haven't been for a few years so was a little disappointed as it has been great in the past
Great food and atmosphere but bit slow on service, took a while for the drinks to come and wasn’t asked if we wanted any more, and also waiting for the bill for over 10 minutes.
our waiter was rude and blunt to me and my partner on two occasions.
1-i had a tray of bbq meat which came on several individual plates, when asked if they could be moved to a single tray i was told “the kitchen staff are to busy” as if this was an unreasonable request
2-when asked if we could have the bill i was told bluntly and rudely “wait for the other waitress i have things to do” again as if it were another unreasonable request.
I also couldn’t order the food items i wanted because they were out of stock on a friday evening???
bill came to an astonishing £99 for 2 people. £5.75 for a small bottle of beer, really?
i was also asked if it were a special occasion when i booked, it was my birthday and nothing was mentioned, i don’t expect anything but why ask if it’s a special occasion if you aren’t going to do anything?
also never received the free ice tea that was meant to come with the bbq sandwhich
Great food and great service with a nice atmosphere. The Cherry mash cocktail is very strong on the bourbon and has no taste of cherry. It's not the cheapest place you will go either but the food is very nice.
Absolutely outstanding service and food! The staff are lovely and went out of their way to ensure we had a brilliant experience! The food was amazing! 10/10!
Sorry to say this but I have had better burgers at McDonald's and Burger King. Over priced is an understatement and the vanilla milk shake was bland
Both the burgers and the chicken was extremely good. One of the juiciest burgers that I have had! Will definitely be going back!
Service was great. Very noisy where we was originally sat. But we asked to move and it was a lot better. Food was ok. Burger was greasy. Food was generally over priced
We has excellent service Excellent, the food was very good and reasonably priced.
It was fantastic! They served the best food, came out within 10 minutes of ordering it. Such polite and lovely staff
Was very worried about visiting this place as I had read many mixed reviews, the place is to noisy or they had run out of food so was going in there thinking the worst .we went on a Sunday evening so the place was very quiet and they had run out of brisket, we all decided to have burgers and they were fabulous! Agree with most reviews that the place is overpriced, the waiting staff were lovely and really helpful ! Would visit again .
I have never been so disappointed with a restaurant that I was really looking forward to eating at.
We arrived to a nearly empty restaurant, ordered then waited what seemed like an eternity to receive our food. The chicken platter was actually very nice, although not good value for £25.50. We then waited even longer to receive our mains. When they eventually arrived, the fries were all cold, the ribs were dry and lacking flavour, the chicken was oily and had a burnt taste to it etc. The star or the show was the spicy burger, which I can’t remember the exact name of. I love spicy food and have never had to leave a dish because it was too spicy, but in this case…..wow….one bite and my face nearly melted. We decided to try and eat the food as we were very hungry and it was now past 9pm. In the end we gave up and asked to speak to the manager who seemed less than concerned about the problems and simply said that it must have been fine as we had eaten more than half of it. He did reduce the bill but it was still a very expensive way to eat food that I would have been disappointed to get from a nasty kebab house. All in all a very poor show.
Ordered 3 things all ran out ended up having burger which was nice but not what I went for, chopped pork dry, mozzarella stick and onion rings lovely and the beef rib very tasty, will give it another try and hopefully with have the pork ribs and brisket next time as the staff was very apologetic
We ordered 2 brisket sandwiches, 1 spicy chicken and ribs. The brisket was so oily, both of us couldn’t eat more than a few month fulls. The chicken was extremely salty. But the ribs was ok. The service was good. Shame the food wasn’t.
Very expensive for a burger £12.50 no chips or side salad just a burger on a plate and average burger at that there's a lot better on offer in Nottingham the other popular burger place hands down wipes the floor with this place no atmosphere slippy steps to the toilet half empty so not busy disappointed and the amount of delivery drives going past the table was crazy
Really good food and helpful staff. Would definitely recommend!
We ordered 3 platters when it came out wasn't worth £75 as we got same amount as we did for 2 people we wasn't impressed and we sent it back
Staff were all lovely and helpful explained everything really well, foods nice but I think it’s fairly overpriced, massive portion sizes but again a bit pricey.
Great food, great decor and ambiance, for the price would have expected better and more professional service though.
But would recommend if you want a great burger.
We booked table last night we all ordered meat platters and lady came back from taking our order said sorry we haven't got any meat left . We was disappointed as we brought 2 friends to try it and they couldn't so we ended up going somewhere else to eat
Ridiculously loud music to the point of having to shout to be heard. Staff serving over our food and shouting between the tables. The 10% added service charge is also rude. No wonder staff are rude when they know they will be getting an over inflated tip no matter what. The food is very nice but I will not return nor will I recommend to anyone else. A shame as it could be really good.
Came from Birmingham to eat here as it looked really good and don’t have anything like this by us. When we went to order we were told there was no brisket available which I wasn’t happy about as everything else was either pork or burgers.
When our food came out my partners burger came with bacon on and he doesn’t eat this- he made sure he ordered the burger that didn’t have this but still came out with it on. The lady’s who served us where great and lovely but found we just had to wait a while for everything.
Food was excellent, ser ish was brilliant
Was busy Callum was a good server
Chicken wings were not as good as usual little overcooked but the basket was superbly perfect. Og burger was bill and the chicken tenders were beautiful
It’s the best burgers I’ve ever had! Jsut was disappointed by how noisy it was cause of the football and there wasn’t any social distancing between tables.. we were sat right next to other people and had to ask to be moved. Other than that it’s one of my favorite places to eat :)
