Red Dog Saloon Nottingham
Barbeque grew up in the South of the USA where cooks learned to slow roast cuts of meat over fire pits to make them tender. Exposure to the smoke of the smouldering wood added a distinctive smoky and juicy taste to the meat. Our award-winning smokers have been imported from the USA and are built to recreate the cooking process of those original fire pits. We use the traditional American woods of hickory and mesquite to give a full smoke flavour, and the meat stays in the smoker for up to 18 hours.

Amazin food!! So much to chose from and great options for all different kinds of diets/dietary needs. Tastes so good! The service was brilliant, very friendly staff. We’ll be coming back for more.
Had to wait almost an hour for food to arrive after ordering. When it did arrive the majority of it was cold.
Absolutely amazing. Carnivore platter was just spectacular...complimented with loaded fries. Perfect for the meat lover and value for money. See you again soon Red Dog it was a pleasure!!!!
Food was delicious only downside was having to wait 15/20 minutes for our table even though we’d prebooked
This was our first visit to Red Dog Saloon and we were both thoroughly impressed. The food was delicious and my partner was really impressed that staff would personalise one of their burgers to contain a veggie burger rather than beef. The only problem we had is that our eyes were bigger than our stomachs!
Came for my birthday, absolutely outstanding. Food was as pictured on the Facebook site, staff couldn't do enough.
not been served at all. been told is closed when it was still over 1 hour to closing time. not got food and not even been offered a drink as rude man shouted to us is closed.
We arrived at 6.45 and was told we could sit down, we didn’t want to order but felt rushed along. After reluctantly ordering both starters and mains we had been served both within 20 minutes of sitting down. If your in a rush and want to eat then this place is for you, if you want to enjoy a meal steer clear.
Food was amazing and the staff friendly. The meat just fell apart
Really amazing food, the best burgers in Nottingham and the bbq is amazing as well. Friendly staff, good range of beers and fun cocktails. 11/10 will return
Nice American restaurant with fantastic burgers. Drinks are a bit over priced. It was a saturday evening and was busy and unfortunately the staff were not attentive. Definitely not American! Drinks took ages to arrive then once food was placed on the table never had any staff ask if food ok or more drinks required. We tried to get a member of staff to try and order more drinks but gave up. For this i cant give more than a nice pleasant experience. So defo not American style service. However, I would recommend the food as must be the best burger ive had in Nottingham beats other places in the city.
The wings used to be 10/10 meat falling off the bone the lot, now u got to fight with it.
Sadddd!! Burger was hella good tho
Not quite as good as it looks. Service was brilliant with a good atmosphere, just unfortunate that the food just missed the mark.
Came here for my 40th birthday tonight
we were asked to stand at the bar and get a drink as we were early which is ok but after 30mins my 13yr old daughter felt uncomfortable around the locals on a night out! others that had turned up after us with later bookings than us were seated before us in booths for 4 people and they were couples which was frustrating then to be sat at table right next to the front door was fantastic! Dining with coats on was great experience ! Thanks
Service was lovely, however the food was not worth the money we paid. Had a hickory burger and it was incredibly greasy and fatty. I don’t know whether it’s made to be that way but I didn’t enjoy it. Atmosphere was nice and there wasn’t a lot of noise so was more enjoyable for that.
This was my first visit. As there was an event locally it was quite busy. It took them ages to take our drinks order and then another wait before the food order was taken. A simple order...2 burgers 1 fries 1 beans.
It took 35-40 minutes for this to arrive. And the burger was so pink I couldn't eat it. The beans were vile but that's personal taste. The fries were ...well fries...
I would go again as the flavour of the burger was actually good but I will insist that it is well cooked! The mustard sauce was so runny I thought it had gone off?
Oh and as a disabled person I think they need to get a ground level toilet or if they have one better signs!
Red dog saloon shows Reds how it’s done. Keep returning here as I’m never disappointed in the quality or the quantity. Service was great and the beer selection was decent too.
Amazing food, unfortunately we got the wrong fries brought to us and we couldn’t catch anyone to tell them, took forever to clean our plates however they took the fries off the bill and when they did get round to us the service was great.
Food was amazing, drinks were amazing, service was amazing! Everything about this place is amazing, we will definitely be visiting again! All staff were so friendly and welcoming, we absolutely love it there :)
Really lovely food however the table service had a lot to be answered for. Wasn’t even busy all order incorrect food didn’t all come out at the same time had to ask multiple times for cutlery yet their was a lady setting them out most the time we were there. Very nice inside but unfortunately miles away from an American eatery. I would dread to think how it would go had all tables been occupied. I would still give them another chance as the food was good. Just need to get their game on!!
The ambiance of the restaurant from the moment we entered was amazing and very in keeping with the theme. We were greeted with a warm welcome and seated. The food was amazing, I had the brisket the beef rib and the sausage all were smoked amazingly well and the brisket simply melted in the mouth. We will be returning!!!
Very nice food and friendly staff. Great ambience and decor in the restaurant. Only complaint was that we were seated near the door on a cold night and it was freezing everytime someone entered the restaurant. We had pre-booked but there were no other tables available to move to. Despite that small inconvenience I would highly recommend and will definitely return.
Disappointing visit this time. We go to Red dog quite a lot and normally the food and service are excellent. The burgers in particular are delicious. This time however three of our group we ill after having the brisket. As I say never had a problem before but this rather spoilt things. Service suffered on this occasion too due to a lot of new staff but this is far more forgivable.
It was a lovely meal for my work departments Christmas Party.
We ordered our first drinks, and it too around 20 minutes for us to receive these - by which time we were all ready to order food. All of our drinks orders took from 20 minutes to 35 minutes which was not the best experience.
Food on the other hand was very fast to come out to the table, and was enjoyed by all 8 people on the table.
The down side was the drinks time arrival , but it will not hold me back coming again however, if this did happen again i would consider not returning.
We had the carnivore platter was very nice the brisket melted in your mouth will be going back tho the burgers I saw coming out were quite small compared to what you see on photos for their site
The food was very delicious, warm and fresh!!! I loved it!! I will be back soon!! Thanks!!!
Thought menu was a rip off £9.50 a burger with no chips disgusting ,won’t be coming again that’s for sure.
This was my first time eating at the Red Dog Saloon and I was very pleasantly surprised.
The food was excellent, although not cheap; at approx £11 - £13 for a relatively small burger with no fries, salad or garnish of any kind.
Our server was fantastic! She was polite, efficient and really helpful when we were ordering for the first time - she really made a big difference.
Ambience and choice of drinks was very good.
Meal before concert
Juicy, delicious burgers. Came in for the lunch offer (any burger, fries and soft for £10). Generous portions and really good quality. 10/10 will be returning
Friendly staff and a fun, creative menu of all things American. I had the southern fried chicken which was juicy with crispy skin and my wife had a BBQ brisket sandwich which she really enjoyed. Good selection of beers from the US and cocktails as well
Brilliant BBQ, fresh taste. good environment. beautiful place. left satisfied, highly recommended for foodies.
I will definitely return.
The best bar-b-q in Nottingham! I had the Carnivore Platter which comes with beef short rib, st. louis pork ribs, smoked southern sausage, buffalo wings and beef brisket. Really good food and attentive, friendly staff
We came for the platter that had been advertised. Once we tried to order it they didn't have any BBQ meats. So we stood up and left.
Poor service, there was no rose wine on a Saturday night and no bbq meat left at 7.15 due to a table cover of 15 allegedly!! The manager was rude and took our drinks off us when we declined the Indian menu. Will not be visiting again.
The food was tasty and staff were friendly however the service was very slow. Some of our order was also forgotten so we had to ask for it again.
Overall, nice enough but would most likely choose a different restaurant next time.
Relaxed atmosphere, good choice on menu, good sized portions, and very helpful staff.
The chicken wings used to be delicious and crispy skin, now slimy and some were cold. Burgers were still good, but may go elsewhere in future. What a shame.
Red Dog Saloon is one of our preferred restaurants and dining there is always a good experience. The service is up to high standards, welcoming staff and happy to serve you. The food is always good and we know from previous visits that the chef won’t allow something of less than good quality to be served. Good selection of beers and cocktails too. The menu items are well priced and the portions generous, and if you have any leftovers the staff will happily hand you take away boxes. It is recommended for a date night but also other occasions such as birthdays, graduations, etc.
We enjoyed out trip to Red Dog Saloon Nottingham, having been before, I was familiar with the food, my guest, however, was not.
We both enjoyed our starters and our main courses, leaving no room for desert.
Unfortunately during our visit we found that our Servers did not seem to communicate with each other whatsoever, leading to us being asked the same things such as; "Would you like to order drinks?", "Would you like your Table / Plates clearing?", "Would you like the bill?", multiple times. Furthermore to this we were seated in a booth opposite of the bar which led to us being located in an extremely noisy, and annoying environment - Due to the noise created by the member of the bar staff making drinks.
We would return to Red Dog Nottingham however we would suggest not sitting near the bar and also hope that the wait staff do, in future, communicate more effectively.
