Red Dog Saloon Nottingham
Barbeque grew up in the South of the USA where cooks learned to slow roast cuts of meat over fire pits to make them tender. Exposure to the smoke of the smouldering wood added a distinctive smoky and juicy taste to the meat. Our award-winning smokers have been imported from the USA and are built to recreate the cooking process of those original fire pits. We use the traditional American woods of hickory and mesquite to give a full smoke flavour, and the meat stays in the smoker for up to 18 hours.

We ordered 3 platters when it came out wasn't worth £75 as we got same amount as we did for 2 people we wasn't impressed and we sent it back
Staff were all lovely and helpful explained everything really well, foods nice but I think it’s fairly overpriced, massive portion sizes but again a bit pricey.
Great food, great decor and ambiance, for the price would have expected better and more professional service though.
But would recommend if you want a great burger.
We booked table last night we all ordered meat platters and lady came back from taking our order said sorry we haven't got any meat left . We was disappointed as we brought 2 friends to try it and they couldn't so we ended up going somewhere else to eat
Ridiculously loud music to the point of having to shout to be heard. Staff serving over our food and shouting between the tables. The 10% added service charge is also rude. No wonder staff are rude when they know they will be getting an over inflated tip no matter what. The food is very nice but I will not return nor will I recommend to anyone else. A shame as it could be really good.
Came from Birmingham to eat here as it looked really good and don’t have anything like this by us. When we went to order we were told there was no brisket available which I wasn’t happy about as everything else was either pork or burgers.
When our food came out my partners burger came with bacon on and he doesn’t eat this- he made sure he ordered the burger that didn’t have this but still came out with it on. The lady’s who served us where great and lovely but found we just had to wait a while for everything.
Food was excellent, ser ish was brilliant
Was busy Callum was a good server
Chicken wings were not as good as usual little overcooked but the basket was superbly perfect. Og burger was bill and the chicken tenders were beautiful
It’s the best burgers I’ve ever had! Jsut was disappointed by how noisy it was cause of the football and there wasn’t any social distancing between tables.. we were sat right next to other people and had to ask to be moved. Other than that it’s one of my favorite places to eat :)
We enjoyed it but our 9 year old Son loved it so a winner 👍🏼
My favourite spot in the UK🤩
Too loud and crowded, very small table for 2 and shoulder to shoulder with others.
Food is the best I've ever had.
Amazing food... the atmosphere was buzzing... we travelled just to try something a big different... totally impressed will certainly be back again
Overpriced cold food (2 cokes, 2 burgers - one single patty & one double - and 2 sides cost £50) & inattentive staff (had to ask for cutlery multiple times and they added £5 service charge right at the beginning before we had our meal), very loud and rowdy outside. Chair broken at our table and when asked by another waiter whether they could borrow the spare chairs he seemed to already know that one was broken? Quite disappointed with our experience after reading good reviews:(
The food was excellent and service was quick and friendly
So we ordered 2 smash burgers, which didn't come as meals. A side of fries, that was tiny (for £4) some beef brisket, to which we ended up having to leaving 50% of it due to the amount of fat. And 2 drinks. With the meal coming to best part of £60.
Now the burgers wasnt to bad, but thought a meal may of been an option.
Having been to reds, rubs, and now here. I wouldn't be rushing to go back.
Felt almost like walking into a quiet pub rather than a restaurant. Was barely any smell of food been cooked like.you get in other places. All in all, disappointed with the overall experience.
Not worth the money. They didn’t have most dishes available and we had to wait an hour and 45 minutes for our food to arrive
Arrived at 7:45 to sit down. We were asked what we wanted to drink before we had even taken our coats off. We asked for a little time to look at the menu, we weren’t spoken to again for around 20 minutes. We didn’t receive our food until around 9:20. The chicken was supposed to be “hot”, there was no spice at all and the chicken seemed really bland. The chips were soggy. Two of our sides came out around 25 minutes before the rest of our food. We waited at first because we thought the food would follow shortly, we had to eat the sides as they were starting to get cold. The service charge was taken, if I had been given the option to pay a tip I definitely would not have. Poor service and poor food. Would not return
First time there. We enjoyed it. Staff were amazing and handled a very busy night extremely well. Will visit again soon.
Excellent service delicious food and cocktails
Great burgers! Great milkshakes!
Great food to enjoy with friends.
The food was great but not what we wanted because all the bbq meat and ribs had sold out so we had to settle for burgers. But the food we had was very good. We would like to go again but only if the full menu is a vailable. We liked the American ambience and the music. The ipa beer was lovely.
Food was dry and disgusting. Food came 2 min after ordering therefore I’m 100% sure it was just warmed up in the microwave. Would not recommend to anyone
Staying in nottingham city centre for couple of nights... decided to give red dog saloon a try... booked table for 7pm... and wow... the food was amazing... honestly amazing. Everything we ordered was just devine. The cocktails where delicious.. the staff where so welcoming and friendly. 2 very happy people!
We had the BBQ Build a Tray.
The Ribs were the best i’ve ever eaten, wings were nice to start off with but after about 5minutes into eating they started to give off a strong smell and began to taste unpleasant, sausage was nice but not exactly worth the price, pulled pork was delicious, fries were perfect.
Food was great but perhaps not all was worth the price, would love to try the burgers next!
The philly cheeseburger was sooo good, would definitely go visit again. And 2 for £10 cocktails?! Yes please!!
Quite literally the best meal I have ever eaten. Of course if you're not a meat eater this isn't the place for you. Expectations were high given all the photos posted on Facebook, but I have been caught out like this before so although I was optimistic I was also prepared for disappointment. However, after the 1st bite of my hickory burger I could not be more impressed. I spent the rest of the meal shoving my giant burger into the face of the other members of the group insisting they take a bite. This was complemented with some amazing philly cheesesteak fries. The wife had a brisket sandwich which was wonderful too, granted not as good as the burger but I guess you can't have 2 best meals of all time. The cocktails also kept the wife happy, with our only complaint being we were too full for dessert!
Had a meal here last night, we were seated in an area with loud students drinking so it wasn't enjoyable to stat.
The toilets were dirty with no toilet role.
The bar was covered with empty dirty glasses and the staff looked like they didn't even work there in there normal clothes and the chefs in the kitchen had all there hair hanging down with no hair net! When it came to ordering food there was hardly anything left on the menu so we had to order something we didn't really want. To be fair the burger was nice but very greasy. The chips were horrible like something you would get from a takeaway. Was extremely un impressed with the overall experience and thought it was overpriced for what we got, so i wont be returning and wouldn't recommend.
Very disappointed with the food and set up of the venue, took ages for food and drinks to arrive. Order was wrong when arrived, food poor quality but over priced spend over £390 with you overall disappointed
Nice food, very loud music and rowdy others we had to move tables twice due to this.
We requested a private table for a nice date night.
Better for a group of friends
The food was amazing! Ours took a bit longer as my boyfriend decided to get the 8 pate burger, so that was completely understandable.
The waiters were all polite and there was always someone around so you could order drinks whenever we needed to.
We travelled here from Coventry and the journey was so worth it! Will most definitely be coming again.
The food was quite expensive for what we received, as we didn't get any sides with our burgers. Drinks were very good prices, particularly during the 2-4-1 period. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend to anyone who wanted to go for drinks with their friends.
Food is absolutely fantastic. Unfortunately the waiting staff were awful. Two of them engaged in a battle over the music volume which was really annoying and made a child on the table behind us cry. Our waiter had to return to the table 3 times for things he missed off our order, forgot to replace a basket of fries after spilling them, and was then put out when we disagreed with paying the service charge based on the above
Fantastic in all aspects would highly recommend. Staff we’re great food was delicious.
The service and food were amazing but they were having some difficulties with the sound system which went so loud at one point it made my child cry. The toilets were also not in working order. Although they had plumber their their was no warning of this upon entry
Wait staff seemed to be in on their day off, super impatient (despite a nearly empty restaurant) or just forgetful. Food was missing key ingredients, sticky tables, small portions
Burgers were lovely but service was lacking. Our waitress really did try but drinks didn't come until the end of the meal and tables weren't cleaned properly. Very student atmosphere.
Always love Red Dog, fantastic staff & the food is always sooooo good!!! Can’t wait to go back :)
Really bad customer service waited 1 hour for 2 drinks then when we asked for the bill it took them 1 hour and 30 minutes
Tip automatically added. Why should we be forced to feel like we have to tip. Waiters/waitresses get the same pay as people in shops!
Chips came out when we had nearly finished eating and then still tried to charge us.
Had to wait half an hour for drinks
The food was amazing, the serving staff were attentive and well mannered. However the experience was marred by the duty manager’s inability to deal with two groups of rowdy lads who were clearly one big group spread across two tables.
The atmosphere wasn’t vibrant it was noisy and full of expletives.
I understand it’s difficult to manage this, especially given the current climate. Therefore I’d still recommend the place.
