Red Dog Saloon Nottingham
Barbeque grew up in the South of the USA where cooks learned to slow roast cuts of meat over fire pits to make them tender. Exposure to the smoke of the smouldering wood added a distinctive smoky and juicy taste to the meat. Our award-winning smokers have been imported from the USA and are built to recreate the cooking process of those original fire pits. We use the traditional American woods of hickory and mesquite to give a full smoke flavour, and the meat stays in the smoker for up to 18 hours.
Slow service , food was poor quality and had a very limited menu- lots sold old.
Expensive for what it was I thought. Took a while to get drinks!
Burgers were amazing! Great value and really well hosted. Very enjoyable.
food was amazing!! best burger ive ever had, its expensive but totally worth it. staff are friendly & helpful too :)
Really friendly staff. Good food and cocktails were amazing!
Food came out in bits and bobs once we had our food we didn’t see our waitress again so couldn’t order anymore drinks. Food was good. Not happy that they added a service charge on especially when 1 it’s too much and 2 we always leave a tip but didn’t think it was due as the service was crap. Wouldn’t go again
Very good service recommended to anyone wanting to go out for nice food for decent price.
Great burgers and giant crispy onion rings.
Great price for a week day lunch £10 burger fries and soft drink.
We had been to RedDog in Liverpool and thought we would try the Nottingham one and we weren't disappointed. The service was very friendly and quick, food was very tasty and so much to choose from and great atmosphere. We would definitely go again and take friends with us.
Didn't have first choice of drink which is fine so I selected another. They then tried to substitute for a third without asking first, just because it's from the same brewery.
Ordered starters and main, and main came out first. Starters then had to be asked for and these were not as ordered due to menu not being clear. The place was fairly empty so this was not due to being rushed.
When we finally got the bill, didn't realise they'd added a 10% tip, even though service was poor.
The food was nice but very expensive. There was no social distancing involved whilst we was there and they added a 10% tip onto every individual payment which I think is disgusting. If I wanted to tip then I would have asked if I could leave one 🤬
Great night out for my Sons birthday, waitress staff were amazing and even sung happy birthday to him. Cocktails where some of best I've ever had, will definitely be back for a date night with my wife.
Staff were great. Good quality food and excellent value for money.
No drink until our order came an hour after arriving, didn’t bother with a second drink as didn’t have all night, had to hunt down staff to be able to pay and leave.
Very decent food at a reasonable price. Quality onion rings. Shame there wasn't any Hop House 13 on Draft but alternative was fine.
Food was good, I had the hickory burger my other half had the cheeseburger. Burgers were really nicely cooked and juicy. In terms of the hickory burger though and actually with the chips as well, they were so so salty, Ended up chugging a litre of water when I got back to the hotel! Portions on the chips were massive aswell, could definitely share a standard portion between two. Service was great though. Could do with more dessert options aswell.
This is the second time I had been to the red dog and it was just as good as the first, highly recommended.
Food is pretty tasty but the menu was the most complicated ive ever seen. Not a fan of ordering my food by the grams and then having minimum orders. Wont be back in a hurry.
Poor service, food was cold sent it back and never returned. We still charged a service charge. We not be coming back and don’t recommend.
We we’re really looking forward to our visit having travelled from stoke especially for the restaurant after seeing the amazing food on Instagram, only to be left with really poor service. We had to keep asking a member of staff for our drinks which she had forgotten about, to then a really long wait for our food to arrive and when it did finally arrive the chips were cold and had to be sent back, we had no cutlery and had to wait for a member of staff to bring those over. It wasn’t even a busy afternoon so no excuse for a poor service.
Everything was amazing, food was spot on and staff were very friendly.
Great! All six of us loved our burgers! Would definitely go to either the this one again, or try one of the chain closer to where I live.
Lovely burgers and Brisket. Shame theres no fried included in the price of the burgers.. Makes it a bit more pricey. Cocktails are amazing!
We arrived early because well...we were hungry. Seated no problem, the waitress was lovely. Happy atmosphere but not in your face and the food was AMAZING! We will be coming back...alot!
Absolutely amazing food. Music a bit loud and there was a mix up regarding drinks but no big deal. We’ll be going again. Definitely recommend.
Over priced for what you get, even though a table booked was squashed in. Tables were not 2 meters apart. Burger did not say it have mayonnaise but came with it. Too much pepper in burger and very little flavour, chips and mozzarella sticks were greasy, drink choice was terrible. Staff tried to add service charge and was just rushing you. Will not be going back.
We ate here during the eat out to help out and having previously ate here before we thought it would be good again but unfortunately not, The burgers do not come with fries they just sit on a little Saucer plate And are £12.50 each so we had to order fries separately, The food itself wasn’t too bad but it’s obviously gone downhill, When we got the bill they had put a so called 10% discretionary charge on which should of been £1.80 as our food and drinks came to £18 but the bill was for £23 but when questioning it they just said that’s the way it is, Overall for what we paid it was only ok but if it were full price then it would of been nearly £50 so unfortunately we will never return to red dog saloon.
Uncooked food and next to no Covid restrictions. No staff in masks, not asked for track and trace details. Table not cleaned. No visible hand sanitiser.
Service was good, staff friendly and we were served very quickly.
However food wasnt great at all, I ordered chicken tower burger, which didn't have any flavour at all, everything tasted like oil, and just felt like all I had was grease in my mouth. My girlfriend ordered cheeseburger, the meat was well underdone (basically raw), fortunately the front of house realised and came straight over when he saw the colour of the meat and immediately took it away, he brought another one out about 20mins later, fresh burger which was a nice touch, however it was the same problem again, burger was dripping blood and had soaked into bread, we were a bit too embarrassed to ask for it to go back again and also lost our appetite so just wanted to leave.
Overall, seemed like a nice place to go for a drink and some chips. But asides from that I would definitely not visit or eat here again unfortunately.
The only saving grace to the experience was that we got the food on the 50% offer so didn't have to pay that much.
Food and customer service outstanding will definitely be back again
Had a lovely meal, we all really enjoyed it. Service was good and the staff were polite. Would recommend
Great service and fab tasty food. Great for a family meal out.
Had a lovely burger here, good fries but the onion rings were amazing, great tasting batter with very tasty ranch dipping sauce. Very nice.
Brilliant service from friendly staff And great food!
First time ever we went there! We had a really good time! The service was really good and the food as well. It was very American and the food portion was good for the money paid! I’ll definitely go back again
Easy to book and really relaxed when we got in. Food was excellent and came very quick. Couldn't ask for a better time. 10/10
It was ok. Staff rushing about but took ages to get served. Food was warm enough to eat but went cold fast.
£7 for 2 cokes is crazy
I don’t think I will return
Lovely friendly smiley staff. Super quick food service. V Tasty food.
Been a regular here for almost a year. The place is clearly under new management and staff since lockdown eased. Never a consistent burger delivered to the table and sizes have gone down from the past. The manager looks disinterested and staff aren’t even aware of the their own promotional offer. Give it a miss and save yourself the disappointment!
Dined here Wednesday 19/8/20 at 5pm on the eat out to help out scheme. Service was atrocious upon arrival. I literally had to keep getting up to ask for menus, drinks & food order etc. This was because they were under staffed and the shift supervisor was just peacocking around like he owned the place. Once the 5pm staff turned up, the service was better but still not great. Social distancing measures are not being taken into consideration at all... There is no separation between tables and every table was sat at. By the time we left, we were completely enclosed by other diners. I have never felt so uncomfortable during COVID.... This “business as usual” attitude was not Welcome or appreciated under the current circumstances. No money has been invested into this restaurant to create a new safer experience. The restaurant was not receiving any special treatment in terms of cleanliness, the floors and toilets were filthy and the tables were just about acceptable. The food was great on the most part except the prices have increased and the portion sizes have decreased (just like REDS true barbecue). Beef brisket was very lacklustre. Won’t be returning any time soon.
