Red Dog Saloon Nottingham
Barbeque grew up in the South of the USA where cooks learned to slow roast cuts of meat over fire pits to make them tender. Exposure to the smoke of the smouldering wood added a distinctive smoky and juicy taste to the meat. Our award-winning smokers have been imported from the USA and are built to recreate the cooking process of those original fire pits. We use the traditional American woods of hickory and mesquite to give a full smoke flavour, and the meat stays in the smoker for up to 18 hours.
Very good staff- attentive.
I was hoping for brisket burnt ends but there weren’t any- also there wasn’t a variety of ‘fruit drinks’.
It was my first time dining at red dog saloon, I will definitely recommend going 😊 the staff were friendly and helpful. The food was really good. Can’t wait to go again.
We arrived and were greeted and seated by a pleasant man who remembered it was my husband's birthday and told us he'd get a dessert after our meal. After that we were left alone - no-one even took a drinks order for at least 15 minutes. The guy who eventually spotted us and served us was lovely and we were not one of 'his tables' so he did well. But overall service was pretty dreadful. Of the 4 meats on the menu two were unavailable, which for a meat restaurant is pretty poor. Needless to say no birthday dessert was offered. Wouldn't reccomend.
We have been to alot of American themed meat houses, however the meat here was fatty and when discussed with the waitress she apologised but dismissed. We wont be reattending
Amazing burgers, onion rings and loaded fries! Would 100% recommend!
Fantastic food, quick service... Really enjoyed the short beef rib, smoked to perfection... Will definitely return and would recommend to anyone!
Food was lovely, the chicken wings were amazing! Portion size was good to. The only little thing was the food took a while to come, service was quite slow even though the restaurant wasn't very busy. Would definitely go again.
First time visit on Monday, had been wanting to visit since seeing their burgers ok instagram.
Food is fantastic, burgers and fried chicken particular highlights.
BBQ isn’t a patch on Red’s BBQ but still very enjoyable.
Good staff and very nice to have waiting staff try to engage in conversation with customers for a change.
Will be back for more burgers soon!
Fantastic service and amazing food great place to eat.
I took my son there for a Saturday meal, not really a special occasion but also not something we do everyday. We enjoyed the atmosphere and the staff was very friendly and helpful. Only thing not at the best in my opinion is fries were definitely overcooked. Surely we'll give it another go soon
Service and food were great. Ambience was low because it was a Sunday lunchtime.
We went as a mixed age group, and had an excellent night, our only criticism was that we have to ask as to what some of terminology meant in the menu (perhaps a small explanation in the menu would have helped) the lumps of meat were very well cooked and tasty washed down with a nice bottle of (pricey) wine. We shall definitely return.
Beautiful food, friendly staff, banging music. Would highly recommend.
Been a couple of times before and it’s still great. Good level of buzz to the place and the food is great.
Was slightly disappointed at some of the menu changes (one side instead of two, a really good dipping sauce not served with meal now). But, I had a great burger, kids chicken was lovely and wife and daughter had a meat platter to share (wasn’t advertised as a sharer but there’s plenty).
Very smiley and attentive staff, engaged with the kids and answered my allergy questions well.
Still a great place to eat - loved it.
Everything was amazing. We will for sure be coming back. Food amd service was perfect.
Great set up with big bar and eating area .
Waitress was polite and very helpful.
Order was spot on and allowed for substitutions on burgers with ingredients I did not like
Great food, we had burgers which were delicious, really well cooked and arrived piping hot. Food was served very quickly - almost fast food speed, which was fine for us.
However, despite being almost empty, when we arrived at 5pm we were told the table was needed at 6:30pm - surely most restaurants know the average turnover time and so should have either given us a different table or not booked us in for that time - we booked in advance. Also, our table was a few feet away from where the waiting staff were standing chatting to each other, so we heard lots about their personal lives and felt they were hovering over us. The staff were friendly though. We finished well within the time, so telling us in advance was unnecessary and made us feel rushed. The place still had dozens of empty tables when we left.
Lovely proper American burger!
Great food but poor service once seated. Had to ask to order drinks as nobody he came to our table. When our food came we then had to ask for cutlery and plates as we had a sharing platter. The server was walking away when we had to call her back.
Service was quite bad, forgot our drinks order 3 times. Bought out the wrong food. Once they gave us our food they never checked back on us and we couldn’t wave anyone down to order more drinks. We were just left. They asked if we wanted the desert menu after our starters then were confused that we hadn’t had our mains.
The food was quite nice.
We visited Red Dog Saloon at 5.30pm on Saturday. After a wait of 30 minutes, our mains were brought out before our starter. I mentioned this to the server, who apologised and took the mains back to the kitchen. After 45 minutes of being sat down our starter arrived. Once we had finished this, we waited another 25 minutes for our mains to arrive. My boyfriend ordered the brisket, and fully expected it to be the 'melt in the mouth' experience that all good brisket is. Unfortunately this was not the case. The brisket was extremely hard to cut and took a fair amount of chewing due to the high amount of hard sinewy fat is contained. I ordered the philly cheesesteak. Unfortunately the bread was extremely chewy and the meat was extremely salty and of particularly poor quality. The onion rings we had as a side were luke-warm and very burnt.
Unfortunately it wasn't the dining experience that we were anticipating, sorry Red Dog Saloon, we will not be visiting you again, and we won't be recommending you to others.
Favourite restaurant in Nottingham. Amazing burgers
Making the reservation was simple and quick.
When arriving we were promptly greeted and immediately shown to our table.
The service was quick, very friendly and efficient.
The food was amazing, I couldn't eat the next day as I was still so full!!
We did have to clarify a few points on the menu where we didn't understand the terms used, but the server explained and offered recommendations, which was great!
Overall, I will definitely be returning!!
De-lish Food decent service good value for money and excellent portion size.
I would definitely come back without hesitation also i would recommend to family and friends
We didn't even get to eat....despite booking a table we were left at the bar for over half an hour whilst they stated they had "all of a sudden got really busy"......they basically didn't have a table for us, we left having no one approach us with an apology or update on when we would be seated there were also at least another 15-20 at the bar in the same situation.
Great food, good atmosphere. Was extremely busy, probably due to an event on at the arena. Staff seemed to be rushed off their feet. Dessert order took quite a while considering it was only ice cream but think this was due to staff being busy.
Food was amazing, staff really friendly and helpful and found the bill a shock at £45 we thought would have been nearer £60. Even at that we would have been delighted... 100% go again..
Had a lovely time at red dog on Saturday, food was gorgeous and served to us pretty quickly, all the waiters and waitresses were very friendly and there was a good atmosphere the only downside was we were very squished in to other tables so it was quite cosy ha ha.
Service was slow food looked amazing but didn't tastes amazing(plater for 2) meat was cooked way to fast so it was as tough as boots. Shane cause for what we paid you would expect it to be a lot better
First time in and really enjoyed it..... we will definitely be visiting again
Excellent location, great place
This was our second time in Nottingham and we managed to book a table at the Red dog saloon. The service was exceptional and food was so fresh, cooked perfectly and tasted fantastic
There was 12 in our party and we all received our orders quickly. The food was really tasty and service was good. Milk shakes were amazing...
First time here, would highly recommend. Food was delicious, drinks were good. Excellent experience all round.
We booked last week for our belated Xmas do as we are in the industry. Booked because of the set menu option on the website of 2 courses for £14.50. When we arrived was told not available! No other option given
For a true meat eating carnivore, Red Dog is a must. Impressive choice of different meats, all beautifully cooked and tender, very efficient and friendly service, tasty ale and a lively atmosphere. This wasn't the first time we have eaten here, we will certainly return.
Delicious and hot burgers and fries
Lovely cocktails too
Food is AMAZING, lovely atmosphere and decor. Nothing but good things to say about this place, definitely recommend and return.
Really poor service, the wait time was unacceptablely long. When the food did arrive some of it was cold.
We asked multiple times what was happening with our order and no one bothered to respond.
Would defo cheat on my diet again here. However £1.25 for a dash of coke in a double jack Daniels is a bit of a rip considering it was only an inch or 2 of coke. Other than that it was flawless, burger pricing was so good!!!
