Red Door Asian Bistro
Food was outstanding and such friendly great service!
Daughter’s 14th Birthday. Overall great experience. We had 2 younger family members who were in ahhhh! They will be back.
On Vacation! Service needs a lot of work kin this place! Food amazing but the staff outside the chef needs training.
Food was mediocre and overpriced. I’ve been to 5 or six hibachi restaurants and this would rate last
Nice brunch. $35 per person included the buffet with sushi, crab legs, steak, lamb chops, fried rice and some other hot items. Also had a dessert table. Price also included bottomless mimosas, bellinis or blood Mary’s. Will definitely come back. It was really good.
Gear food and the chefs are talented with their tools knives
Food was ok at best. Appetizers came out after meal. Definitely would not go back, too many other options on Las Olas
Absolutely terrible service and food . Very expensive for what we got
Horrible experience. We requested the out
Celebrated dual birthdays at Red Door. Did the Hibachi grill. This is always fun and reasonably priced. Good show, good food, good service.
I have been coming to Red Door since they opened. Food used to be good along with service. Last 3 times food was fair and service was poor. I’m a local and noticed that it looked like management may have changed so we decided to give it one more go for my birthday. That was a mistake. There were only 3 other tables sat during my visit and we were all celebrating birthdays. My wine was served and it was a 1/4 if glass. I need to go to bar and ask why I was going to pay $16 for 2 oz of wine. She said that a full glass and proceeded to poor back in carafe they use to measure which was not even half full. The app came out (coconut shrimp) it was not edible. The manage came over and I explained this would be our last visit if it was not acceptable food and service and he acknowledged he it it was our birthday. He comped the shrimp and send another drink due to the lame pour by the bartender. Entrees came and they were very good. We were never asked if we wanted dessert. At the same time they played drums and brought desserts to the only other 2 tables that were sat. our birthday was not acknowledged. This was the straw that broke the camels back. We will not return!!! Very sad as we lived next door and would have been regulars.
Great Chef! Great food. Very fun and good time overall
Overall, we had a nice night. But, our service was not very good and I was not happy they automatically charged an 18% tip on the receipt. When we arrived no one was at the front and the bartender shouted from the bar for us to sit anywhere, but we had reservations for the Hibachi. We didn’t get our salads until our meals were started. Our drinks were empty frequently, never offered water and didn’t even have a chance to tell anyone we wanted any. Our server was visible often chatting with women behind us and also with other staff almost the entire meal. My husband wanted dessert, it was never offered. We were given the bill and husband had to ask for dessert. The chef who cooked was amazing though and made our night great. I did except more from all the reviews.
Food was amazing. Had 5:30 reservation on a Saturday night and ended up with our own grill. Unfortunately we seemed to be bounced between multiple wait staff, so service was a bit slow. Ordered sushi that never came (was not on bill). Chef was great. Talkative, experienced, and was careful with our order. I will definitely return.
New Year’s Eve Dinner
We had a really nice birthday dinner on 12/30/19. Our hibachi chef was new to the restaurant but he had prior experience and he was really energetic and friendly. It was a welcome distraction for our family during a difficult time. Food was tasty and prepared perfectly.
Sat in the hibachi area, slow at the time. Chef was a nice guy but it was his first day on the job. The hibachi grill wasn't getting enough heat so food didn't get the proper heat. Server gave my wife's shrimp to me by mistake and remade it in the back. It wasn't a good experience and the meal itself was very pricey.
The best hibachi restaurant in Ft Lauderdale! Highly recommend it to locals and tourists.
Always fabulous when with Carlton he is awesome. Alex cooked an amazing dinner. Good times. Thank you. Happy Holidays!
We were there for our Office Christmas Party so I had specifically requested to be seated at one of the grills as I had been here previously and experienced wonderful entertainment from the chef.
Upon being seated we were left for an hour before anyone came to take any orders. When the chef did come out he basically just cooked the food. There was no spectacle like I had known before. We might as well have sat at one of the tables and we may have been served faster. Very disappointed.
Hello. Thank you for sharing your feedback. We’re sorry your second trip here did not live up to your expectations. We will be addressing this with our management and staff. Hope we have the opportunity to serve you again.
We were the only hibachi table at the time we went with a reservation. The following occurred:
-menus were not taken from us after our order just sat on the table
-chef did not come out until we requested him too almost 25 min after sitting
-husband ordered a beer that never came but was on the bill anyway
-put in our reservation that it was our daughters first birthday and they didn’t even acknowledge it?!?
Positives: food was great, restaurant was clean, chef was fabulous (service was not up to par)
Had heard great things about this place and thought the brunch buffet would be a great chance to try things. What I found was a generic blend of sushi (no exotic rolls, mostly california-type rolls), poor beef and dark meat chicken used for recipes, generic salad, and catfish fried. Very disappointing. While $35 includes bottomless, I would not return.
I went to the grand opening of the Red Door Bistro a year ago. The future of the restaurant looked bright, and the food and concept seemed to be a nice addition to Las Olas Boulevard. That said, I have watched a steady stream of managers and staff come and go from this restaurant. Each time I ask the manager what is going on, it is always the same response. The New York Owner of this restaurant thinks that Fort Lauderdale is NYC, and had no flexibility in how promotions and service is done down here. The manager is NEVER empowered to hire and fire competent staff, and they cant keep staff because business is so slow. It is slow because of the experience we had the other night. The hostess and server never brought to our attention the great happy hour specials (which change every month so you never know what the new rules are). So as a result we spent twice as much as we should have by not sitting at the bar. In addition, I asked for a Red Curry on my Peking Duck, and the duck came out without it. Instead the curry was on my allegedly mixed stir fry vegetables, which consisted of raw squash and a few pieces of raw broccoli. I specifically asked for green beans and or snow peas and got neither. The drunken salmon dish with spicy basil sauce, wasn't spicy at all by sickly sweet. I brought to the attention to the current manager, the challenges of our dinner, and he graciously offered a gift card to make my whining stop. On a weekday night during happy hour, this restaurant had 10 people eating at it, and 2 people at the bar. There servers cant make enough tips to pay for parking with those kind of numbers. The other restaurants were jammed on Las Olas that night. Bottom line: They need to call John Taffer from Bar Rescue, to rescue this bar and read the riot act to this arrogant and incompetent owner. I hope the next time I go back they are still in business, and no doubt to a new unempowered frustrated manager.
The food choice is extensive, excellent quality and superb flavors. Servers are very professional, wine and drink selections are plenty. Overall we had a very enjoyable experience and recommend the restaurant.
Go there often love it
It was great as always!
Thank you so much! See you again 😊
You can dine Hibachi style, while sitting outside on Las Olas Blvd
Thank you so much, Randy! I definitely agree 😉
Excellent Hibachi experience!! Food is delish (we always get the filet hibachi with fried rice) and the best part is you can choose from Hibachi, Sushi or Thai Food!! The Yummy roll is delish too. We come here all of the time with friends and our kids. You can’t go wrong. Love this place!!
Great tasting food as always
Birthday experience was great!
Service was awful but food good. This experience was not the best which makes a return visit unlikely.
Great atmosphere, friendly staff, excellent food. Will definitely be back again for another wonderful experience.
Omg I love every dish we had . All thought all hibachi restaurants are the same and boy was I wrong. They may have the same style of cooking . Ask for David to cook for you .
The food was soo good
Food was good, but service very slow.
Food was only ok. Nothing spectacular. The shrimp are the best thing. The sushi was only OK .The meats were fatty and not well cooked . It lacked side dishes and vegetable items. Just a boring salad nothing special at all. And the service was not good at all either. We had to ask for everything including water sauces etc.
Weekend Brunch $35 AYCE and AYCDrink! Such a GOOD VALUE. Crab legs, filet mingnon, duck, lamb chops, sushi, desert station with chocolate fountain, all you can drink mimosa, Bellini or bloodys INCLUDED!! Just to name a few-
And the service is TOP notch. We even accidentally forgot a pair of $400 sunglasses with a cell phone and the waiter/busser RAN us down when he happened to see us walk by a half hour after we left. Not only were our drinks always full, but the food is absolutely delicious. Thanks Red Door-
Upon walking to the Hibachi table we saw lots of remnant scraps from previous cooks, which was not very enticing. Service was a little slow, but once the cook arrived he cleaned the area and moved quickly. The food tasted great. We've been to a few more hibachi places that were a better overall experience.
Good food and good service! Will be back for certain!
Satisfactory casual dining. Good place for family and friends.
