   Wonderful food and good size helping and it is clear if you wanted more veg etc. Had Sunday lunch, which was lovely.

   The brisket burger is really lovely but may have been nicer with it as just pulled meat-as a firm patty it is not quite as nice as it would’ve been just pulled.i had it with cheddar cheese instead of Roquefort and it tasted really nice. Thanks!

   A wonderful setting and great staff who were very attentive. Some of the food was good but others I my opinion very poor. Was not expecting scales and excessive oil on something as simple as fish and chips.

   We were seated just off the bar with most other tables already occupied. We noticed a wire hanging from the ceiling that was taped up and there appear to be no cover on the radiator thermostat. We were attended frequently by the staff, and the food was very enjoyable. The portions seem adequate to on the large size, which is good. The price was above other establishments, but when you have good reviews, I suppose you can charge more.

    Overall I was disappointed by our experience at the Red Lion. Not being offered the choice of tap water when we gave our drinks order set the tone for the evening, this was compounded when the table right next to us were given this choice when they were seated by a different server. I thought the food was overpriced considering the portion size although I have to say it was delicious and well cooked. I’m glad I tried this pub as I’ve heard good things about it but I doubt I’ll return.
