Welcoming, great energy, good music in the bar. Very cool interior. Good menu and wine list. Will definitely be back!
We've been waiting for Redeye Grill to open and were very excited to go back. We were very disappointed that they don't offer bread at the table. You buy garlic bread, but that's all they offer. We ordered cappuccino and when we asked for a cup of coffee afterward, we were told they had no coffee, only cappuccino and we had to order another cappuccino and was charged again for that.
The menu has been severely abbreviated. I would rather they charge a little more, and put bread on the table and offer refills of coffee at no charge. This is not an inexpensive restaurant, and I think they need to rethink these policies.
Delightful from beginning to end. The service was attentive without being overbearing. The food was delicious, beautifully presented, and generous in portion size. There was not a single wrong note, we all enjoyed ourselves immensely and are looking forward to returning.
Beautiful outside patio diner. Love the atmosphere. Great food. We booked our meal at 8:45, I wouldn’t recommend that. We didn’t know they were closing at 9. Our server was great but every felt rushed. Next time I will book earlier so we can enjoy
Waiter was good overall, missed my daughter’s drinks but not bad at all, the dinner however was sub par. We’ve been here before and I was highly disappointed in their food tonight. My daughter and I order fillet mignon, medium rare. The steak was the thinnest fillet I’ve ever had, and cook was rare in some places and medium in others. I may never go back here after this experience. Very low quality today, super disappointing.
Small note here, our plates when we sat down were caked in dust, small issue, fixed quickly by the waiter but that was a poor start to what would be an even worse dining experience.
It truly pains me to write this review about one of my favorite places.
We were seated on the patio the food and service were great. The weather was perfect and it was so nice to sit outside.
Although primarily a seafood restaurant and I do not eat fish, there are still plenty of items on the menu for me to choose from. The decor is classy and classic old New York, but I truly love their superior outdoor dining setup.
Food quite good. Service a bit slow for lunch time.
Sat outside on the patio, weather was fantastic leading up to sunset. Good and service was exceptional
The food and service are always excellent along with a festive and lively ambiance.
The stay is amazing. The food superb. Been coming since they first were established..like family now. In today’s times it is comforting..
The food was absolutely amazing and the service was just as good!
Very personable service. Food was good. I recommend their scallops dish. Scallops were cooked perfectly. Also enjoyed the coconut shrimp appetizer.
The staff was gracious and accommodating. Seating placement was great.
We were celebrating our 40th wedding anniversary and Red Eye Grill helped make it extra special. The food was excellent!
The food was delish and the music in lounge was wonderful . Kind of a perfect night!
Outstanding wait and floor staff. Was a but skeptical as I suspected the place to be more of a tourist spot, but was pleasantly surprised at the food, wonderful but cutting back on the butter and oil
The cheeseburger was amazing and we really enjoyed the live music tonight. The singer was great!
Post Covid it take most restaurants time to get back to where they were in 2019. We were set in the side room which was sad. Service was ok and food ok.
The 6 dancing shrimps were in different sizes: small-XL.
Next time will be better.
Wonderful, service, food and music were outstanding!!!
I missed this restaurant and glad to know it is back......And yes we will all be back
Redeye has long been a go-to place for us. I understand the hardships of Covid, but the current menu is a bit too limited. And, of course, it's pricey.
Friend in from Los Angeles
We had a wonderful lunch here on our last day in NYC. The staff was warm and welcoming. We even enjoyed a complimentary glass of Prosecco while perusing the menu. The Dover sole is exquisite and the teriyaki bowl was good and hearty. We will definitely be back!
Our first dinner in NYC and it could not have been better. Hostess and wait staff were helpful with all our questions. Food was excellent, fish very fresh and wonderful presentation and flavor.
We enjoyed a lovely evening and look forward to our next visit
Always good service and food. I especially like the beautiful outside dining that they have during these difficult time.
Excellent food and service. This restaurant is a real neighborhood gem. I highly recommend
Avoid the Dover sole. Didn’t taste fresh. Everything else was wonderful.
One of the best outdoor settings in NYC
Raised above the sidewalk
Great food. Lunch has a reasonable prix fixe
It was first day reopening after covid and the food was wonderful, great prix fixe option for lunch and great service. Glad to see they are back
Great NYC ambiance for celebrating Thanksgiving. John Zullo, our waiter, was terrific. His efficiency, professionalism, and sense of humor made for a memorable Thanksgiving.
Our area go-to when we treat ourselves to one of the nicest, elegant-yet-laid-back environments in ntown. The comfort, ease and atmosphere all compliment the excellent bar selections. The food is always excellently prepared. Dessert? YES please! They are closing Sunday for the Winter: go now!
It’s was excellent
The food was wonderful and the staff was very warm and welcoming.... I will come back to this place over and over again!!!
The food was excellent and was serve fresh from the kitchen at an excellent temperature. The staff provided us a table in out separate room away from everyone.
Nice staff-good food and drink. Easy to social distance.
Love this place
And, during the pandemic, lovely elevated tent dining with floor heaters.
Always feel welcome and Richard and his team see to it that no detail is missed.
Dover sole was amazing and so was the Salmon.
Banana cream pie is off the charts!
Wonderful food, great service, as always.
Went here on an early Saturday afternoon and sat outside, under the tent. The food and service was outstanding. The prices? Well, it IS Manhattan, but nothing outrageous considering the neighborhood.
A great spot for outdoor dining even when raining. Well covered but still open with fresh air. Service was excellent.
