Terrific food! First time here and will definitely come back. The noise level is high but the food and service make it worthwhile. Good wine list as well.
Popular happy hour spot but a recent lunch there had terrible service and bad food. Steak was poor quality, service was slow. Fries are only bright spot.
Very accommodating when a reservation needed to be changed. Great food!
The food was flavorful combinations well executed! We ordered a variety of items and loved them all.
Service and food was fantastic. Wish there was a non dairy alternative available for coffee to add to the wonderful brunch!
Good bar with lively vibe. Nice mix. Surprisingly good bar food with generous appetizers that can be shared if you want to drink & graze. Really good duck & rabbit rillette
Food was excellent and the service was attentive without being obtrusive. If I lived in Seattle, I would go here weekly!
Fantastic food and great service
On top of a nice brunch menu, the waitress was delightful.
Nice place good happy hour menu, good service great deserts get the mousse 21 and over this is an adult venue no kids
Interesting urban restaurant. Fancy menu. The place is really nice. I like the atmosphere. But unfortunately I was not impressed with food. I tried the same dishes in another restaurant and it was much much better than here. I think it's good place to hang out with your friends, to have a couple of cocktails and that's all.
We were a party of 11 and every person enjoyed their food and said they would go again. The French dip was so good that I ordered it again the next day.
Great food and fantastic team work by the staff. Rachel at the front was winderful & engaging.
Just a mediocre place..,
Great food and terrific service but noise level makes it difficult to talk casually.
Great food! The three of us tried six plates and all were delicious.. Our booth was in the bar which was too noisy with a table of 8 girlfriends nearby celebrating a birthday. It appeared that the restaurant compensated by turning up the music. Service was fine. I would, like an earlier review, liken it to a sports bar ambiance but with tastier dining.
Great food and pleasant service.
Great happy hour spot that’s good for dinner too
Very good spot in South Lake. The filet in the sampler was superb. Also really liked their kale and sprout salad. Drinks quite good as well - I enjoyed both my wines. Lively spot with open wall during summer made for great ambience.
We had a reservation for 8 we were sat right away. The service was quick the drinks were great. The food was fresh and reasonably priced for the area. I would return in a heartbeat.
We went on a Thursday before a Seattle chamber opera. We had made reservations for 6:30pm, (driving up from the south end) and arrived a little late, due to traffic and construction on I5. When we were greeted, we were thanked for making a reservation! I apologized for being late and that was waved off with a, "hey, this is South Lake Union, we get it." The place was pretty packed and quite noisy but that's what we expected for just after happy hour on a weekday. I had put on the reservation that we needed to be in and out by 7:30 and lo and behold, the duck confit and the black cod were out in mere minutes! Both our dishes and the cocktails we ordered were delicious and timely. We liked it so much we went back after the opera and had another drink. Our waiter remembered us even though we were in a different section. Highly recommend and can't wait to see what it's like on a normal opera night, (Saturday).
Good happy hour and service, walking distance from alot of businesses in SLU.
I made a reservation for 7 people on a Friday for lunch. I arrived a couple minutes late still waiting for majority of group to show up. They were very accommodating about not having everyone there on time. The lunch was catching up with old colleagues so we were deeply engaged in our conversations. Service was ok once everyone got their food in the sense that water filling service only happened once and they didn’t ask if I wanted a refill on my soft drink. Not a big deal, but couldn’t help wonder if we were annoying the wait staff somehow. Not a big deal, but thought it was worth a review mention.
Always great service and wonderful food. The atmosphere is great as well.
High priced for very little food! Example; Cheese plate- 2 slices (sandwich slices) of cheese. Same kind of cheese no less.... 2 blackberries and 1 strawberry split in half a smear of jam and 3 slices of bread.. all for $17. This is NOT a cheese platter by any means!! Charcuterie plate 3 slices of 3 different meats, 4 mini pickles, 1 tiny carrot cut in half. $16. The drinks were in mini size wine glasses $31. The highlight and best part was the bowl of mixed olives for $5. The bill came to $75.. very very disappointed!! We chose not to see what dinner was going to be and went home and ordered pizza.... Not to mention the dog coming out of the kitchen and hanging with the bar staff of 3 people that stood around doing nothing!! We will not be coming back!!
If you are under 21 you will it be able to eat here. First question we got when we walked in was are you all over 21. Menu on website not up to date. Poached eggs were not cooked correctly.
Great cocktails! Loved the open air option. Solid food with an interesting menu. Thanks!
Excellent brunch! Good variety, with original twists on classic brunch choices.
Delicious food and a great setting. Service was very fast for lunch!
Had the breakfast burrito. Flavor was great! However service I still find to be hit or miss. Never had silverware placed on the table so we had to grab them from another table and they forgot our avocado toast appetizer.
Great service and wonderful food! These guys consistently knock it out of the park!
Great service and wonderful food!
A little loud for us and my boyfriend didn’t love his dish, but my risotto was fantastic! The fries were great as well. Would definitely recommend for happy hour, but if you’re looking for an intimate dinner it’s a little loud for that kind of thing!
The hostess was flaky and unhelpful when we didn't want to sit by the door. She also didn't check me in for my open table reservation. Our server, Joshua, was outstanding. He gave us great direction, was attentive but not overly so and a terrific demeanor. The food was hit and miss. The app sampler was a miss. The meat was over done and tough, the shrimp was over seasoned with chili flakes and were uneatable. On the other hand, the pasta was to die for. The noise level was a little too loud for me as well.
Wild Bore was on point!! Great service and experience. Definitely coming back!
met our son at Re:Public for dinner and had a great night. We all loved our meals and our server took great care of us. We had the Ahi appetizer and kale salad to start.. so good. Husband and son got pasta dishes and both loved their meals. I ordered the best burger - we are going to make it a regular meeting spot!
Wonderful place for great service and outstanding food.
The Brave Men of Kenatic had a dinner here. The menu is fantastic. Our group ordered the duck confit, the wild boar, the pork tenderloin, and the cod. Everything was done to perfection.
We had a couple bottles of Malbec which worked well with such an eclectic order. Of note, the brussels sprout appy is excellent.
The Men of Kenatic say, "Si!"
Birthday happy hour
Re:Public was nothing special. We made reservations but didn’t need them. The food was pretty mediocre although everything was edible and served with a smile. We started with the tuna and Brussels sprouts which were good and ended up as the highlight of our dinner. Our meals (pork tenderloin, risotto, burgers) were disappointing. The pork wasn’t very interesting — the cut of meat was enjoyable but the rest of the dish lacked intrigue. The risotto was tasty, but the balsamic finish was far too sweet and was heavy-handed. We ate to avoid the balsamic. Our 2 burgers were not memorable except that medium rare means “pretty well done”, which is apparently the same as medium. The fries helped distract from the burger disappointment . We opted out of dessert to try our luck elsewhere.
Servers were kind and welcoming. Because it was slow in the restaurant, we had an over abundance of server visits to the table — well intentioned, but annoying.
We don’t have any intention to return. There was nothing directly bad about the experience but with so many great places to eat in Seattle, Re:public doesn’t compare.
