Restaurant El Pintor
The name of the restaurant comes from an old art’s workshop owned by a famous painter of the Gothic Barri at the end of the XIX ct.
In the heart of the Gothic Barri, the restaurant el Pintor is a Gastronomic reference in the authentic catalan cuisine using high quality local products. In an intimate ambiance you will discover an extremely welcoming place full of history, serving exquistite catalán food.
Absolutely amazing experience, the food was phenomenal and the staff was very considerate not to rush anyone out.
The dining experience is as excellent. We opted for Tapas dishes and Sangria. Overall it is worth the price!
Food was served cold and not the tastiest, service was average at best even though the place was enotu
Our waitress didn't speak too much English, but we found it easy to communicate with her nevertheless. The food was delicious and the prices were very reasonable.
Sangria was great. Catalan sausage was good. Seafood paella was bordering on disgusting. I had to stop eating it. Service was great, but for as much as it cost, I could have had a much better meal elsewhere.
The fish was excellent
Excellent food and perhaps our best meal in Barcelona. The staff was engaging and helpful. The fried artichoke with honey is a must have as a tapas.
Birthday celebration, it was fantastic. Wine food and traditional catalonian cuisine
Perfect place for business dinner. Very nice atmosphere and excellent food.
Great location in the Gothic area. Service was excellent and the food was as good as we had in Barcelona. Our favorite dishes were the snails and octopus. The best that I have ever had.
We will be back next year!
Delicious food served in a romantic space. Service was excellent! Special thanks to Miranda for a special birthday celebration!
My husband and I enjoyed a wonderful New Years Eve dinner at El Pinto while traveling in Barcelona. The chef was kind enough to allow us to order off of the set NYE menu and the staff was extremely attentive. The food and atmosphere were delightful and we had a great time ringing in 2019!
Unfortunately although a lovely venue the food experience was very mixed. Half of our meals were very nice and the other half of the group had an awful experience. Their food was not cooked or came out cold.
The service wasn’t great with delays to food and drinks orders, missing food and meals coming out at different times.
We wouldn’t go back.
Off the beaten path, but close to La Rambla, local shops, and historical/cultural sites. Best (and largest serving of) baked snails ever! See photo 🐌
Beautiful ambience and decor. We were very surprised this restaurant was not full on a Saturday night but it had a great ambience, reasonably priced food and superb service. Would recommend
Booked a table for 8 through OpenTable, but the restaurant staff were not expecting us! Even so, they handled this very professionally and we were seated relatively quickly. Tasty food, great ambience, and a waiter who made up for lack of english with his charm.
Great food and wine, really cosy atmosphere and nice people. Definitely recommend a visit!
Wonderful restaurant , great service, fine food.
My wife accompanied me on my trip as an airline Captain to Barcelona. A friend had recommended El Pintor.
The decor was rustic and charming and the staff delightful.
My wife had wonderful fish over spinach, pine nuts and raisins The fish was outstanding. I had a steak with a peppercorn sauce that was equally good. We shared a nice local Ribero del Duero red for a perfect dinner.
A delicious and perfect evening.
Everything we had was good. The lamb was excellent as well as the sangria!
Traditional Catalan Foods well prepared with quality ingredients especially seafood. I especially enjoyed the starter of Cantabrian anchovies.
Lammkeule war sehr lecker, Beilage etwas wenig. Service sehr nett und bemüht. Verständigung nicht ganz einfach.
I went 17 years ago with my kids and never expected an even better experience this time with my husband. But it WAS!! Lovely Catalan dishes and wine and a waiter who could really help us. I speak a bit of Catalan now so that helps, but they do have some English speakers now and everyone speaks Spanish (unlike last time). I recommend the lamb, which I've had both visits and it is spectacular, as is their home-made sausage and all the apps (particularly gambas if they are in season). Small and intimate and I like to sit either in the doorway or by one of the windows to make sure to catch some breezes. Walk around the Gothic Quarter afterwards. Oh, and don't miss their flan and also the marscapone ice cream, if they are on the menu when you go. Their menus do change but some things (like my lamb) remain. Go now.
Good food, slow and lazy service
Excellent location next to the cathedral in barcelona. very good food, fine service and well worth the visit
Any time I'm in Barcelona, I make it a point to visit El Pintor.
