5* A hidden gem. Best value, tasty, superb presentation
This is a wonderful restaurant with a quiet, elegant setting, excellent food and service, and won’t break the travel budget for fine dining. Highly recommend.
Appetizer of scallops was excellent . The Tomahawk steak was way over cooked. Had few people in restaurant but made us eat at a very small table Giving it at 3 star because of customer service. Felt like there was a lot of behind the scene issues going on.
This is one of the most beautiful restaurants I have ever dined in for those who are nostalgic and love a timeless classic. I love the care and detail from the decor to the cutlery. Am most perplexed however, as to why a chef would longingly overcook a piece of fish and meat. These dishes were overly-complicated and 'busy' instead of showcasing a refined elegance of taste. This menu needs a major overhaul and I really do hope the food will become the star attraction and measure up to the dining experience.
The food was very good. The service friendly, but the waiter kept forgetting essential things. Then, as the place filled up he forgot about us alltogether...
Lovely atmosphere in restaurant, the food was fantastic and the service was great. The mushroom and nut butter was amazing!!
Good food very reasonably priced. A good pre theatre menu. Suckling piv recommended. The wine list is basic but okay. Attached to a hotel. Seems quite popular.
Not sure if the experienced we had was normal for
this restaurant but the service was very uneven and slow. Ours wasn’t too bad but two tables near us left in a huff. Food was good but not outstanding and the decor was a little dated. That being said, we did enjoy our mains. Good for a more fancy dinner out.
The head waiter sent everyone to the bar, even when booked tables were empty. He was abrupt with customers and we clearly heard him refer to "bleedin'" this and that while on the floor. Poor ambiance for a restaurant. Food was ok, but the head waiter's manner was awful.
Highly recommend. Location perfect & room/decor lovely. Staff friendly & efficient.
Very good food. Quite expensive but everywhere in Dublin is expensive and Six was very good quality food . Would go back
Fantastic food perfectly cooked and presented. Very good value for money. Lovely music in the background & the staff were very pleasant. Really enjoyed it & will definitely be back.
Throughly enjoyed our meal tonight at Restaurant Six . Gorgeous food that was amazing value and service with a smile from Isreal to top it off , what a lovely man . Many thanks for a lovely experience , will definitely be back
Lovely food and very handy for the Gate Theatre across the road. Food was very tasty and beautifully presented.
Good food, excellent service fabulous setting. Prices beyond reasonable
Wonderful meal and a good escape from typical “Irish” menus that seem to repeat all over Dublin.
What a wonderful experience at Restaurant Six! We attended before a play at The Gate, and availed of the Pre-Theatre Menu. The service was exemplary, we even received a complementary scallop prior to our meal. Lovely quiet ambience, excellent value for money. Would definitely recommend to others!
Didn’t know this place existed. Very good food and service. Right across from the gate theatre so very handy.
Excellent food and service.
Pre theatre menu is great value for money.
Cannot give enough stars for Restaurant 6.. food was excellent, service excellent, lovely relaxed atmosphere and excellent value. This will be my preferred choice of venue when I next venture into the city centre. Well done to all concerned.
Excellent old world sophistication and superb food.
Lovely night had in Restaurant Six... we'll be back
Best entree of my adult life, and I’m a senior citizen! The buttermilk chicken was delicately moist and flavorful, with surprisingly fun fried kale on top and a creamy barley foundation. My husband raves about his Hake entree. What a find! Be good to yourself and make a reservation. You will thank me. The only thing I would change is the modern, somewhat loud music. That was a minor deduction.
My son and I dined at restaurant 6 on Friday 4th May. Well I haven’t been so pleased with a restaurant for a very long time. Atmosphere was perfect, bright and airy but with a cozy ,intimate ambience .The art of being attentive without being intrusive was very evident in every member of staff. We were very happy with the menu , and the quality and presentation of each course could not have been better. We were served a delightful amuse buche which was a lovely surprise . Very good choice of starters, we chose prawn dish and suckling pig. There were delicious breads served with hazel and mushroom butter, and great choice of main courses. I had hake with avocado crust, and my son had beef cheek . Every morsel was delicious. We had coffee served with chocolate petit fours. We were very happy with our experience and to crown all our bill was under 50 euro!!!! This restaurant is a gem for sure. We were going to the Gate which is directly across the road. As a matter of interest , had we so wished , we could have come back later after the theatre, to have desert , at a very reasonable cost. This meal was from the pre theatre menu. Thanks to all at Six for a lovely evening.
Booked pretheatre for two on Saturday at short notice and was surprised how few people availed of convenient spot so close to Gate. Could not fault food, service, efficiency, value or cleanliness. Will definitely be returning.
What a positive surprise! We got a voucher from our friends - have to be honest didn’t have high expectations, but we were so surprised by the quality of the food! Absolutely delicious starters, amazing mains with beautiful presentation! And yummy deserts too! Will definitely come back!
My Husband (who is a Coeliac) and I absolutely loved it. Its gourmet food for great value. The staff were lovely and very attentive. We booked to go again before we left the restaurant so that's proof in itself. It just goes to show that good food, good wine, good staff and a good chef can make all the difference. We are looking forward to our next visit!
This is a hidden gem, beautiful food in an elegant room
Received a voucher from my daughter for Christmas The food was beautiful but I would have preferred to choose from the menu rather than a set menu the restaurant put together for the voucher.
The staff were very friendly and efficient and I would definitely recommend it
The food was delicious. Not overly expensive. When the starter was taking longer than expected the chef sent out free tasters for the table (we had not complained, we were chatting quite happily). The dessert was beautiful.
I booked a table for New Year's eve for my girlfriend and I. The service was great. The place was smaller than I expected and quiet. The food was very good as well. I recommend it for special occasions.
Unfortunately was a poor experience. Made to feel like second class citizens as using a groupon voucher. Customer service poor. Spoilt a family evening
Wonderful pretheatre dinner experience. Delicious food, beautifully presented and the service was perfect.
We enjoyed a wonderful Pre-theatre dinner last weekend. The service was friendly and attentive with great attention to detail. Overall, it was a lovely experience and we hope to return again very soon.
The atmosphere there is quiet and very decent. The service is also very good and sincere. I order prawns and beef, and both are fresh and delicious. I like the cheese cake too. In all, it gives me a wonderful meal in my last visit day in Dublin.
been there for xmas dinner with another 2 friends , the place is so xmasy nice waitress and really good food. The service was really nice, helpful and friendly! thanks for amazing night !
happy xmas to all ur staff !🎄
We visited the restaurant on a wet and windy Saturday evening. The waiting staff were really efficient and very helpful and pleasant. There was a plentiful selection of drinks and wine and everyone in my group was happy with their food. I would highly recommend a visit there.
Too noisy in restaurant maybe because of big group at back . Service floor not enough staff , they look too busy . Overall good, love the food , especially their presentation, is with heart.
Lovely atmosphere. Outstanding, friendly staff. It is now top of our list for pre-theatre evenings at the Gate .
I had the braised beef cheeks which fell off the bone- delicious! Chef gave us a complementary taster of goat's cheese. Service -very helpful, knowledgeable and friendly.
