Always a great experience with wait staff and management hope you will be doing take out !
Amazing food, drinks and staff!
We have been here a number of times. Food and mixed drinks selection is wonderful. Service was good and the environment is nice if a bit noisy.
Because of the virus threat the restaurant was unusually quiet. We shared wings for an appetizer that were great and we had burgers along with the signature fries. Excellent!
Hidden gem. Fantastic cocktails, mouthwatering plates. Not at all a typical gastro pub. Quality food in a great spot will definitely be back.
We were so impressed by the excellent food! It was so fresh, creative and beautifully plated. We had the plantain crusted fish taco, grilled octopus, beet salad and hand cut French fries. Everything was delicious. The cocktails were also excellent. Our server was SO nice and she made great suggestions for food and drinks. We highly recommend the Ripplewood. And the Ardmore Music Hall next door is a wonderful venue to hear great music. We came from the other side of the city and plan to go back again soon.
I really like this place and not just because of their bourbon selection. The food quality, originality, and variety always make for a really great complete dining experience.
Drinks prices high. Cocktails were delicious but tiny!
Branzino entree has tiny piece of bland fish. Brussels sprouts were oily but good.
Server brought coffee without spoons cream or sugar. We asked for it and 10 minutes later still nothing. We had to ask for new cups of coffee. Overall I would only go back for standard fare like burger
Happy Hour was fun and food was good from that menu. I can’t recommend the beet salad, that was abysmal but the drinks and apps were good!!!
Food was excellent. Our waitress was very nice, but service was a bit slow. The atmosphere is ok--to me a little "cool" on the second floor. I don't know--for what is supposed to be a take on an old whiskey bar, I expected more fabric and deep colors. Still, we will likely go back again.
fantastic find! loved the food (the RIPP fries were crazy good) and the drinks were perfect. We sat upstairs so it was less noisy than downstairs. can't wait to get back their again!
Waited 40 minutes for our 6.30 reservation. Were told that the people who had the table before us had the check and would leave soon. When “soon” did not come, the hostess would not approach them. We were very disappointed at this policy.
The food was excellent !
Our table was the first table, as you came to the bar area, wish it was just a little further back. Felt like the customers that were waiting for a table, were a little to close.
I know it is because of the size, but needs a small wall or some type of barrier.
It is an excellent date night place to go !
enjoyable dining experience, immaculate service and great cocktails. My favorite was the shrimp buns .
Everything was amazing except I wouldn’t sit at a high top next time. The tables aren’t comfortable.
Awesome!! A great meal.
Our party of 4 had an excellent experience. We loved the octopus, sausage/pepper flatbread, and brussels sprouts for the table. And we all enjoyed the burger. The cocktails were delicious, especially the Paper Plane and the Pear With Me. The Buzzed Bunny was meh, and it didn't seem to have any alcohol in it. The desserts (ricotta doughnuts and Snickers bar) were both divine. Our server wasn't very attentive (didn't refill water or offer more coffee). But that didn't damper the experience. It's just an "area of opportunity" for the restaurant management to know that service could be better.
Good drinks, lousy food. On the pricey side too. As usual, Craig LaBan's reivew was far too positive.
For the first time I had a traditional meal at Ripplewood rather than a combo of small plates and apps at a high-top near the bar. It could not have been better! From the appetizer, to the main course -- and on to the dessert, each course was wonderful and memorable.
I love this place everything is absolutely amazing!
Just terrific. Knowledgeable and enthusiastic servers, great food, lovely vibe
We were drawn here by Craig LaBan's 3- Bell Review. It was a busy bar scene and we enjoyed Tuna Tartare, Lamb Carpaccio) shared, but small; then we each had the " Burger" which was very good. There is a 2nd floor and a patio which would probably be more to our liking when we return here.
Our server seemed irritated the entire evening. Maybe she had something bad happen to her and couldn’t shake it. She just seemed impatient and annoyed. Bummer for us!
Not sure what all the buzz is about. Maybe it’s better for just drinks and snacks/bar food.
Service was spotty at best. 2 of my kids ordered a “shareable” as their main course, but they were brought out with the other appetizers. Usually the question of when it should come out is asked. Appetizer plates were not cleared or even asked to be cleared. We had to ask them to clear and to bring new silverware that they had just taken. Main courses took too long to come out. We just sat for a while. Then when we were finished with the main course we again had to wait for the table to be cleared. Server did not ask if I wanted another drink. This was a Wednesday night and the place was not full.
Food was just ok. Not terrible but just ok. Best part of dinner was the dessert. Ricotta doughnuts and snickers pie. Brookie was good enough. Caesar salad was interesting. Anchovy fillets were very strong and I love anchovies. Kind of hard to eat overall. Mushroom soup was good.
Restaurant itself was nice. Liked the ambiance and decor. But I won’t return. Yet another fail on the main line in my opinion.
The food and beverage was great. Our server Allison was great but a bit busy so it took a while just to refill water or drinks. The spacing in the bar is tight but expected. All in all 4/5 and will definitely be coming back~
The food and service is very good. Great menu moderately priced. Overall a welcome change to the Mainline. Cool and hip and urban feel.
Mainline and the suburbs need more place like this. It’s about time
Our dinner at Ripplewood was fantastic. We sat upstairs where the noise level is quite tolerable. The food was so good. I’m glad I read reviews and looked at what others got as I walked to my table. The ribs were the standout but everything was top-rated. Our server, Ian, knew the menu and advised on whiskey selections. We are fairly educated about whiskey and he really knows his stuff. He did a great job, overall. Everything was really good.
Great Valentine’s Day dinner spot! Great drinks and food!
We returned for our second Valentine's Day dinner having been in 2019 for a great romantic meal. ( eaten here other times since as well.) But were disappointed this time. It was Valentine's Day, mobbed so the wait for food was understandable and our server apologetic. No problem. Pluses: Great whiskey sour and fine red/white wine. Loved Mac and cheese!!!!! Oysters, yum. Burger good choice. Minuses: spouse's salmon raw ( and this said by one who likes his salmon pink) and broth over- salted. I couldn't eat my salad : way too salty dressing and I am a salt lover. Brownie desert had a strange ( vegetable oil?) taste. We were disappointed but chalked it up to the busyness of the night and learned our lesson to dine here when not as crowded. ( Is that possible?)
Everything we enjoyed, from the delicious handcrafted cocktails through the amazing desserts, were absolutely unbelievable. It can be noisy, so conversation is sometimes difficult even on a weeknight. But the service is fantastic and the food is phenomenal. Our favorite spot in the suburbs!
Burger was amazing but what really impressed me was the tongue and cheek taco. What an amazing flavor burst.
Best restaurant around! Had an amazing dinner. We ordered mushroom soup, charred octopus, and ripp fries to start. Then we got the braised short rib, scallops, and branzino which was all incredible. Drinks and dessert were delicious too! The staff is super friendly and attentive. We will definitely be eating here more often.
One of my favorite restaurants, I’m always pleased with the food
Love the donuts/beignets
First timer, but not the last. The food and drinks were fantastic. We decided to do tapas style and ordered several of the shareable plates. Everything was superb! Can’t wait to go back again!
A nice change from the usual. Good selection of creative drinks and food. Brussel sprouts were the best all 4 of us have ever had. Loaded fries were very good also. We wished we just stuck with more apps versus getting entrees. They were more interesting and better value. Downstairs is darker and more lively. They sat us upstairs which was brighter and a bit quieter which we liked because we wanted to talk:)
Tuna crudo and bao were quite good. Cauliflower was underwhelming, cooked to an odd texture and with too little of the other ingredients off to the side. Server was excellent. The back dining area suffers from proximity to the kitchen and loud music emanating every time the door opens.
Second time there... fun, trendy spot with an eclectic menu. I’ll go back again.
Drinks took forever, not offered refills, hot food came out cold after a very long wait
