First time ever in Maryland, and I am so glad I visited. Because oh my god let me tell you. Best dining experience ever! Even if I couldn't find an uber back to my hotel. They truly care about your experience.

My Wife and I have been going to Rips for 40 years and I have been going there since I was a teenager in the mid 1950's - it has maintained a level of excellence for American food that is envied by competing restaurants in the area. It is the gold standard for American food in the PG/Anne Arundel county area. The open face sandwiches are to die for and the Melt is an icon of crab /bacon on rye you will ever want to tie into - my favorite is the Monte Cristo - you have to eat it to believe it. There is not an average meal on the menu and if you are lucky enough to get Dawn to serve you in the bar area - your day will be made.

The greeter, the server and the chef were great. The food was very good (breakfast) and reasonable pricing. The atmosphere was very comfortable and relaxing. We will be there again.
I recommend Rip’s for breakfast.

I had the Monte Cristo Sandwich and it is to die for - fantastic - I took home the Melt - a classic Crab Melt with Bacon and Cheese - it has been a favorite at Rips for over 50 years and is easily the best crab sandwich I have ever had. My wife had the trout and gets it every time because it is filleted and the best Trout she can get this side of Ocean City Maryland. I enjoy an adult beverage - if you like to indulge responsibly Rips has two great Bar tenders - Luis and Dawn - you can't go wrong with either one.

Delicious home cooking at a very reasonable price. First visit to a restaurant since the pandemic began and felt very comfortable with the care taken to keep the restaurant environment clean and safe.

Some of the stuff on the menu was no longer available such as the corned beef hash. At 10A, they did serve pancakes or French toast, yet they had Johnny cakes which tasted like cornbread made into pancakes. When I told them my order was wrong, they took the plate and brought it back sans the incorrect item. The waiter barely spoke to us. Very unpleasant experience.

Thank you so much for taking the time to provide us with your feedback. On Saturdays and Sundays we have been offering some new brunch items. We have been collecting feedback from our guests on this menu and will be releasing a new menu Sept 1st with new and old favorites (such as French toast and pancakes). I hope you visit us again soon, so we can give you the type of experience we are known for. Thank you again.

Had to sit outside due to COVID19 but it was no problem - the weather was delightful and so was our server Stan who was pleasantly attentive to all our needs. Calamari was great and our dinners were cooked perfectly.

We had the brunch buffet and the attention paid by the staff on avoiding germ contamination was remarkable. The restrooms and door handles were being cleaned every 30 minutes as well. We felt very safe from germs and the food was excellent.

Right now I would not recommend this place to anyone. I always eat at the place. Friday night we ordered crab cakes and they were horrible not even sure if it was real Maryland crab cakes. Very disappointed in the quality of food for the price I paid. Ordered the turkey gravy to go and paid over $100. I will not be back for awhile.

I really wasn’t expecting the outstanding time we had at Rips. I had heard good ribs and prime rib. We were seated immediately, the staff was wonderful. The menu choices blew me away. I got the steak mutard, which was to die for. My boyfriend got the strip steak and it was perfectly cooked. They were extremely busy but you didn’t feel it with the associates. Will definitely go back.

We were seated in a booth away from the bar, but near the door. Since the booth was set in, the main entrance didn't take away from the experience. All the food was hot and delicious from the opening appetizer to the bread pudding for dessert. Will definitely be back!

The Shrimp, Scallops and Grits is AMAZING! The service was awesome too! Fried chicken was good but not the best I've had, green beans were from a can and the mac and cheese was ok. It could use a little upgrade in the decor but overall I would go back when I want a good homecooked meal.

Old fashion home cooking! Everything was great! The food was great. Service only so so. Nice guy but didn’t do a very good job for us.

Glad we went back. It had been years. Will go back more frequently as it was a good feeling to go back to an old fashion family restaurant!
