Can’t fault the cooking, exactly what I expected from a decent Italian restaurant. Service had a lot of misses which spoiled the experience a little but we thought it may just be because it’s the first weekend post-lockdown and staff needs time to get back into the groove. Front of house were nice and attentive, however the waiters don’t seem to be as alert - when they served the food they can’t remember which one ordered which. Also when asked about specifics, they do not know their own menus or provenance of their food. Given the price point somehow I just expected a lot more from the experience.
I booked this restaurant for my birthday. I was very excited, and incredibly let down. I went with my boyfriend and we were given a table that was tucked into the back corner furthest from the heat lamps and crammed close to other tables. This didn’t bother me. What did bother me was that we weren’t given blankets but everyone near the heat lamps was - there weren’t any available for us for ages and we had to request them multiple times.
This still wouldn’t have bothered me as it was my birthday dinner and I was so happy to be out. But it just was so awful, we didn’t get menus until we asked after 10 minutes of being seated. The wine we ordered also didn’t come for a long time, after we’d had our starters. They also didn’t give us plates as requested to share our starters.
The worst thing was my main course, I ordered the butter truffle taglioni. I’m sure I ordered correctly as the waiter repeated it back to me and I had planned to order this before I even arrived. They brought me the wrong food. I watched my boyfriend eat his food while I waited for the correct food. When they eventually brought the correct dish, the pasta was sickeningly over cooked and was also flavourless, and they seemed to be aggravated at me as if it was somehow my mistake.
I had been looking forward to some tiramisu as it was a birthday celebration, but I was so deeply disappointed in the whole thing, we left after the main course. Would never come back, a terrible mistake for my birthday dinner. Would not recommend.
Al fresco set-up worked well for a business catch-up with sun shining down for our late lunch with heaters available when needed. Excellent food with suberb selection of wine but at strong prices. Service was exceptional and it was great to be back at a restaurant and eating exceptionally well.
Very pleasant staff who gave the impression of being rather overwhelmed by being so busy, this being lunch in the first week after lockdown. Service was interminable; rather good food and a decent if expensive wine list.
Good use of the outside space despite the cold and rain!! Service could have been better but overall very good
The service is shockingly bad, they are rude and told us to leave our table multiple times- they overcharged us and the waiter just acted strange -
They are very very disorganised I would not recommend at all ever
Lovely dinner on the first day of outdoor dining 12th April, staff and premises very well organised.
One of the waiter looked at me and walked away/ignored me 3 times, but the rest were very nice and helpful. Food is very basic and very expensive. Not worth the money. You are better off eating somewhere else.
food was great. They sat us in the window at the corner which was a little cold. Service was a little mixed. The menu isn't huge yet they still didn't have the one dish that my wife really wanted. They didn't really apologise or offer any discount for that matter.
I went for my birthday and it was the most amazing experience. Incredible food and outstanding service!
Lovely authentic food in a beautiful setting with an extensive wine list.
Not cheap, go with deep pockets ! Though there is a much more reasonable set menu if you prefer.
Very slow service
Excellent menu
Excellent coffee
Wine list a little overpriced
Beautiful restaurant with excellent staff and service. Food very good. Produce their own wine so must try. Very COVID safe.
I was very excited to eat out and indulge on something I wouldn't make myself at home, especially after an intense work week. The truffle pasta was more a butter swamp with three shavings of truffle. Couldn't eat it so I paid 32 pounds for nothing. The service and atmosphere was very nice though.
We enjoyed the ambience of the restaurant, but the staff were a bit all over the place. Great wine, but the pasta was good, not great. Would go again to sit under the lights.
Outstanding, as ever!
I will always choose Frescobaldi to celebrate special events.
There is no better combination of food and wine, I could imagine!
Great service and ambiance completes the experience.
For me 5 stars!
Food - Was just ok. Wasn’t amazing and wouldn’t make you return. The food that we went for wasn’t available along with a lot of other stuff from the menu. There wasn’t any black truffle but was offered white truffle replacement, the staff sold it as better than black which it wasn’t, it was very mild taste and could barley notice it in the dish.
No desert selection other than tiramisu and creme brûlée which isn’t a great selection.
Value - expensive for a basic meal, you don’t get what you pay for here. They also ask if you would like bread when you arrive which is secret code for we are charging you for £5 olives and £8 Parmesan nuggets, yes Parmesan nuggets which are literally chunks of cheese that can’t be grated and you have no use for.
Ambiance - The restaurant is beautiful but no atmosphere
Service - Ok / standard
Wouldn’t return or recommend.
Can't fault anything. We always have a wonderful time here!
Food was good but expected better
Was served lukewarm
Wine lovely but very overpriced
Really enjoyed it!!
Delicious food, fabulous service and a hidden gem just off saville row. We went for an engagement celebration and they couldn’t have been more kind and excited for us!
The waiters were too intrusive and were interrupting our conversation constantly. One kept refilling the glass with water when we hadn't even taken a sip and then he asked if we would like another bottle.
First class service and gorgeous food!
Always very good food and complimentary drinks were appreciated
Great place for a date!
Good good, beautiful room.
One french waiter was good. Two italian waiters were bad.
Not very impressive, definitely felt disappointed by both food and service
I enjoyed dinning at this restaurant but we kept getting interrupted during our starters and they couldn’t wait to clear the table between starters and main course.
Flawless on every level! Highly recommend!
Delicious food, beautiful restaurant, overall a fantastic time - great for a date or catching up with friends or family. Excellent value with the tasting menu. The staff were kind of awkward and it felt like they were a bit disorganised even though it wasn't busy.
Great food, great and cosy atmosphere, nice and polite people
Threat as always and
Beautiful venue with romantic atmosphere. The food and service were both excellent, and it was a great decision to take my partner here.
Great food and atmosphere. Will definitely go back!
Very cozy and romantic place. I strongly recommend
Really good restaurant, great service and great food
Boyfriend and I went for our anniversary dinner. The restaurant is very quiet and romantic, so perfect for date nights. The service was amazing and the food was delicious. I don’t eat meat so was a little limited but everything I had was great. It was quite expensive so would only go for a special occasion but thoroughly enjoyed and would recommend!
Outdoor dining situated in a quiet courtyard giving a relaxed atmosphere with attentive service and good food, made for e relaxing and thoroughly enjoyable evening.
Wonderful food and service - a perfect slice of Italy in London!
Amazing place, nice food and friendly staff, we’ll surely recommend this place
