Delicious fresh food, wonderful service. Just what we needed after a 10 hour drive
We arrived and waited at the welcome area. We were not greeted by anyone and could not even identify who was an employee. There were very loud groups of people, and some seemed drunk. We received this review and didn't even eat there. Best choice was to leave.
Wait staff was not wearing their masks properly!
We ate dinner and breakfast. The food was absolutely delicious. A limited menu but great options. Service was wonderful! We will return!
The Lobster Bisque tasted like Over salted Tomato Bisque. They did remove it from the bill when we sent it back. The Wings were ok. The Tuna Tartar had no flavor or seasoning. The drinks were great as was our service!
Our experience at River Rock Kitchen was a bit out of the ordinary because we are, after all, in the midst of a pandemic and, at that moment, major power outages in Wilmington. Our server, Giovanni Pollock, was attentive, helpful and very nice. We ate outside as a virus precaution, so he had extra steps. We both had the roasted salmon with a pea risotto that was excellent. But our hopes for the chocolate brownie/ice cream dessert were sadly in vain, as they didn't have the ice cream. How can a restaurant run out of ice cream? We'll certainly try them again.
It's okay for a quick quiet bite to eat but the portions are incredibly small. The "large" shrimp order had 6 shrimp on it. The mushroom bisque was bland. The short rib egg rolls were very greasy. The most positive thing was the flight of beer.
Food was pretty good but atmosphere was very hotel like dining which it is
Wanted to try someplace different for lunch and it did not disappoint! Brought my coworker for her Birthday.
Food was great. Alcohol/wine was very overpriced. Restaurant was almost empty and we were seated at a table right across from the hotel lobby entrance doors. Why would they not give the people that reserve in advance the best tables?
We had an awesome meal at River Rock Kitchen! We both ordered off the Eat Well Menu. One of us had Farro Mushroom Pilaf and the Tomato Soup, the other ordered the Roasted Beet Salad and Grilled Salmon. Every item was served to temperature, seasoned well, and simply delicious. Service was friendly and attentive. We arrived quite early for dinner (5pm) and were the only diners in the restaurant proper while others were having food in the lounge/bar area. We left very impressed, high compliments to the chef. We will be back and hope to have room for dessert, too, next time.
My daughter and I stumbled upon this restaurant and was so pleasantly surprised. Our server was amazing and the food was delicious! The beet salad was the best I have every had! All the food was fresh and seasoned well!
We will be back soon !!
It was eating in a cafeteria, bright open and loud. Metal tables and wooden chairs. Food was JUST OK.
I love the River Rock. I have been there a number of times and the food and service is always great. Love that they have lots of delicious Gluten Free options.
We had the BEST bartender! He was super nice. The food and drinks were also wonderful. Great experience.
Cool atmosphere, great wait staff, and awesome food
The food was decent, but the service was really bad. It took about 10 minutes to get seated, even though there was only one other party in the restaurant the whole time we were there. The food seemed to take forever, and I didn't know where our waitress was most of the time. I wouldn't recommend this place unless you have a lot of time to kill.
It was Christmas and I took my mother and a friend to the holiday dinner. It was nice to find a restaurant open and nice to have specific holiday items specially made for Christmas on the menu.
We were pleasantly surprised! Food is decent and the service is extraordinary. Alonzo treated us so kindly and was knowledgeable about the food. Thank you for a great experience.
I cannot review because after we made the reservation, we arrived and the restaurant was closed for a private party.
used to be good under the old chef,
not everthing was awful
Service was fantastic, but we were the only patrons and during prime lunch hours. As such there was no ambience. The food and value were just ok.
Nice and intimate ambience. Food was amazing! Definitely will revisit!
Food was excellent. Waitress very sweet and helpful. Took a whole let for food to be ready. Otherwise great!
We had a nice breakfast brunch at the Westin on Sunday. After a bit of confusion (they had clearly had a very busy morning) and no slips to order our personalized kitchen orders, they regrouped and got organized. We enjoyed a nice buffet selection, while also able to order omelettes, waffles and made to order eggs. Cheerful staff offered a great service recovery.
This restaurant was a impromptu pick because we were in the area. From the minute we walked in it struck us as a beautiful and enjoyable atmosphere. The server couldn't have been sweeter and the chicken and the steak with the brussel sprouts was fantastic. Along with the mushroom soup which I would absolutely order again. Definitely worth a visit.
Had the crab cake sandwich. It was excellent. The size of the crab cake was on the small side, and there was no avacado
I came here with my son for breakfast. Nice buffet and very friendly staff! Thank you!
Loved seeing so many vegan options on the menu!
Overpriced - meh experience - although our server Robin was good
It was just “okay”.
Crab cakes were very good, moist and thick with lots of meat. Mushroom soup was too thick like brown paste. Complimentary bread served with oil was good, but why bring 3 thin pieces of bread for 2 people? Creme brulee was very good.
Horrible service, we had a reservation and there were plenty of empty tables. When we asked we were given rude looks and told someone would be with us but still waited 30 minutes to be seated. We then waited an hour for our food. Burgers came out raw sent them back they nuked them and brought the back out. Omelets didnt have the Bearnaise sauce on them and they had maybe 4 very small pieces of meet and I counted 3 pieces of chopped asparagus and if it was 2 eggs we were lucky, when we told them about the sauce they brought out two cups of cold sauce for us to use. Service was slow and we had to ask for every little thing that should be standard like water, silverware, drink menu etc. We will never go back.
We went for Mother's Day. Given the popularity of dining out on this day, I would have expected more preparation. We arrived a few minutes early and were told we had to wait despite seeing open tables. After 15 minutes, I let the host know we needed to be seated or we would have to leave as the toddler was now running like a nut in the lobby. He told us we could be seated but would have to wait for service. It took over an hour from seating to receiving food. For a party of 4 with basic orders. There was little to no concern about diner satisfaction. Food was good but I would not go back.
The Mother’s day menu was very well out together reasonably priced and delicious.
Service was terrible, food was terrible. I actually had to ask a few things from another server and also the check. We were not the only ones complaining. We didn’t even get the food until 55 minutes Of long waiting. I could understand if it was busy, but it really wasn’t. Now I know why they had openings on Mother’s Day while other places didn’t.
We always love the river rock, the food is good and is never crowded. It’s nice to sit outside in warm weather.
I didn't realize it was connected to the Weston Hotel, which equates to lousy overpriced food!
A Rose by any other name?
Why I thought an eatery with the name River in it might afford some sense that one is near a river, is beyond me. The only sense of nearness to the river came from a mural on the wall depicting the river.
Service was fine - for most of the meal (at 12:45 on a Saturday), we were the only customers. Two more arrived around 1:00.
My medium rare burger turned out to be medium on the outside, partly raw on the inside. I should have asked them to cook it more, but it was topped with shrimp alfredo (burger of the day), so I muddled through it and crossed my fingers. I'll never do that again. Had a queasy stomach the rest of the weekend. Well, at least I lost weight!
They ran the authorization on my credit card twice, and I called to make sure they didn't charge me twice, but I never received a call back.
All in all, a less than stellar experience.
Wonderful discovery! Went to Wilmington for a show at the Grand and needed dinner before the show.
Easy to make a reservation, quick seating, great service and outstanding food. Once of us is a vegetarian, another on the Keto, and the third can't have diary. We all had delicious, fresh, beautifully prepared meals.
