Served could soup twice, roast was supposed to have all the trimmings as per the menu but this wasn’t the case.
Room terrible noise level and echoing needs soft furnishings to soften the reverberation.
Disappointing and had a further booking which I will be cancelling.
The food was excellent, it was a shame as we drink Gavi, and there seemed to be only 1 bottle left in the whole restaurant! The service could have been better, but overall a lovely experience
It was our Christmas company dinner and we had a great time. The food was lovely - two had the Chateaubriand which was delicious - everything was cooked well and tasted great. The wine was delicious. The service excellent, especially as the restaurant was full and buzzing with Christmas parties. I definitely recommend it and the company thoroughly enjoyed it. Great place, will come again.
The mains were lovely although not as described. (Roasted cauliflower came with mushrooms and not chestnuts as described - but delicious regardless) And the children’s menu was quite poor. We ordered a hamburger for our 3yr old as a treat, and the adult burger came out with adult portion of chips already slated!! There is no way he could have eaten it and the lack of vegetables with any of what was being offered was upsetting. They returned it as provided a breadcrumbed fish burger with chips instead which he enjoyed. Children are people too and deserve to be given a decent meal. A mini roast while have been wonderful but they didn’t offer it!!
We were also forgotten when it came to desserts and it took 3/4 complaints before we finally all got what we had ordered- however dessert was such a blunder that it was all taken off the bill which was much appreciated. The staff were lovely and the atmosphere was great. Good menu and very tasty food. I would recommend however would need to see a much improved children’s menu before returning myself!
order was taken swiftly but a 30min wait for luke warm coffee, toast that arrived after we had finished our breakfast it really wasn't acceptable - I have been to roast for several breakfasts before and this was the worst service I have received - not sure I would go back - very disappointing ...
A lovely building and convenient for London Bridge. A great place for a breakfast meeting.
Had not been to Roast for a long time , food was still great service ok , but , thought the place looked tired
Food was excellent and very much enjoyed by both my guests and me.
We were evacuated due to the episode on London Bridge and we’re asked to leave immediately thus meaning that I couldn’t pay my bill.
I contacted Roast this morning to try to pay but was told by the lady who answered the phone that they were too busy and to email the manager Bruno, which I did.
I await his reply to enable settlement of my bill.
Amazing food and service, staff all very helpful and friendly.
Caught up in the LONDON Bridge attack at lunchtime. Roast staff outstanding during the evacuation from the restaurant. All credit to the management for their handling of the situation. Can’t wait to go back and finish my lunch!!! Thank you Roast.
Excellent service but it's a noisy busy evening out. My roast belly of pork was more like pulled pork ie chewy and the mash potato on top was tepid. Excellent side of market greens.
The food came too quickly, literally within 5 mins of ordering.
The atmosphere was awful - too noisy, tables crammed in, staff rushing around knocking my scarf off my chair constantly because there wasn’t enough room for them to get through.
The food was nice and staff were friendly but the service was way too quick like they rushed us in and out.
Good food, disorganised service
A great place for an early morning start before the drudgery of work
Always a great meal and very much like the venue , for me Londons best restaurant
It’s not very good value for money, sides are tiny, food is good though. Service feels a bit harried and stressed
Great roast beef and desert . Bar was good. We nearly ended up paying more for 2 courses than 3 because waiter wasn’t being helpful. Got resolved very amicably. If you can’t eat 3 courses and 2 works out more expensive because of the deal then charge us for 3 but don’t serve the third or bin it
1st time at Roast; the name made me worry that it would all be about roast dinners - not so. Great location, restaurant and bar over looking the bustling Borough Market. Amazing food, wonderful service, will definitely return!
The food was very good. Had to wait 15 mins for table even though I had booked. Sat at bar and had a drink - found out later that service charge was against the bar drinks as well! Very expensive for what you get.
Having been many times, it was insanely noisy. I couldn't talk to the people next to me, the staff knocked stuff over repeatedly. It's a shame how much this place has gone down hill.
Always a reliably good meal at roast, service is excellent and does some of my favourite steak in London!!
Lovely food, but it would be nice to have a bit more options on the Sunday menu, such as fish and vegetarian.
The front of house greeted us by saying there were no tables for 1 hour. When I looked on Open Table there was a table available immediately - which I booked.
We were disappointed by the vegan roast but this may have been our personal tastes. Roasts only come with potatoes and you must order vegetables as sides. Our three sides lacked in flavour and were cold.
There was a massive delay in the kitchen and we waited over 30 mins for our main. When mine did come out it was rubbery and dry and much smaller than what the table next to me had. I’m presuming I got the burnt ends of the roast. We were delayed by so long we left without eating dessert even though we paid for a 3 course meal. Sadly overhyped, dull food and ridiculous delay.
Great food and service. On Sunday there’s very little choice other than the set menu, but it was very good. Drinks expensive.
Great Sunday lunch and excellent staff - would recommend to a friend!
The food was really tasty but the service and ambience were not great. We were told our table was timed from the time of booking however we arrived on time and our table wasn’t ready! After being told to wait in the bar, which was overcrowded so we couldn’t get to the bar, someone came to look for us but didn’t know who was for which booking. The actual restaurant was really noisy and too packed. We were so close to the couple next to us we couldn’t have a proper conversation. We were also sat by the waiters station where they were dropping cutlery a lot and banging into my chair constantly. Really wouldn’t recommend, especially for the price, I left really disappointed after going for a birthday.
4 diners. One had pork belly that had obviously been kept under a heat lamp too long and all but the small centre was inedible. A reduction on the bill didn't improve the dining experience of the guest. Another ordered roast beef "medium" and it arrived "rare". I have dined at Roast three times in three months and it is such a pity that this occasion the food delivery was poor.
Great food but was located right next to other diners, which slightly marred the ambience. Less tables would be nicer. Bar staff made incorrect drink and when mentioned they stated they had made the correct drink. Finally though they admitted the drink was incorrect.
Food was cold, mains (steaks) under cooked. They were too busy and suffered for it sadly.
Lovely venue , food food not remarkable , good service but the price of the wine list utterly ridiculously expensive. We cut out meal short to go to the pub next door!
We had to wait 35mins for our booked table to be ready. Bar staff very slow and not very friendly. Food came out cold. The nicest thing about the evening was the managers response to us & considerable discount- but we went for nice food & a nice experience. This place is too expensive to have such poor service & poor quality food.
Food arrived at all different times for our guests. Short on sides. Not cooked to request - asked for well done arrived medium
Really disappointed, this was for my friends birthday and although they did a nice birthday candle at the end ... the food was really poor. The steak was really chewy and the lamb was fatty. Service was slow!
The table was nice but I certainly won’t be coming back or recommending to my wider circle.
Lovely Brunch venue overlooking Borough Market with top quality food at reasonable prices!
The steak my daughter ordered as medium was more rare so she didn’t enjoy it. We asked for mash instead of fries but got fries then got mash as well. Service was slow and was so busy the servers were struggling. When the bill came we had been charged for drinks we didn’t have. Food overall was nice but it’s over priced and way too busy and noisy overall.
Great restaurant with amazing service and food. Varied menu and the room itself is amazing.
Fabulous Sunday Roast . Absolutely delicious . Wine is a bit pricey but great quality
Had a fab time at Roast a 18th birthday treat for my son . Food was fab
Sadly the quality of the food did not meet our expectations, we had to send the potatoes back because they tasted like frozen potatoes reheated and the Yorkshire pudding was over cooked. The meat was lovely but overall not the quality you expect at those prices.
